Ok ladies, I need your help. Back at Christmas, my daughter

Posted: May 1, 2012

made me this cute decorated mason jar filled with dry ingredients.  They made it at church as a gift project and it came with an accompanying recipe card that explained how to combine the dry ingredients with some wet ingredients and make some sort of sweet treat.  Problem is I lost the card and I cannot for the life of me remember what it is supposed to make.  I remember something about unsalted butter and that's it!

Anyway, in the jar it looks like there is white chocolate chips, oatmeal, brown sugar, and flour.  There may be some white sugar in there, but it may be blended with the flour and I cannot tell by looking.  The jar is a large mason jar.

If anyone has an idea what these ingredients might make and can tell me the amount of unsalted butter I need and what other wet ingredients I may need, I would greatly appreciate it!  My daughter found it in the pantry and now has been asking me why I haven't made them and when I ask her what it's supposed to make, she says "Hmmmm, I don't know.  Where's the card?"

Thanks!

Ask whoever was in charge of her group at church - Ayn

If she made it as part of a church group, there was most likely an adult who supervised them, bought the ingredients, etc. -- ask that person or maybe the parent of another child in the group who might have received the same gift...

going to the church. The group of kids was a very small group of girls at Wednesday night children's church and are not regulars, so I'm not sure who was there back in Christmas and who wasn't.

Oh Nevermind! I'm sorry I asked!

From the ingredients, you could just add an egg and some butter and make cookies or brownies.

This sounds like you might come close.

Sounds kind of similar to Cowgirl cookies. - Rainy

I make "Cowgirl cookies in a jar" using large mason jars. Except for the unsalted butter (I use salted), mine uses the ingredients you mentioned, specifically flour, white and brown sugar, oatmeal, choc chips--white or brown. (Mine also calls for M&Ms and pecans, but I have eliminated these when baking without any issues with texture.)

Just in case you are interested, here is the technique:

Wet stuff: 1 slightly beaten egg, 1/2 cup butter (if you recall unsalted, that is what I would use) melted in the microwave, 1 tsp vanilla.

Mix wet into dry ingredients using wooden spoon, switching to hands if necessary. Roll into 1-1/2-inch balls, bake about 10 mins in a preheated 350-degree oven.

Has Anyone Ever Had Parents Take Back A Christmas Gift?Feb 14, 2013
My husband and I do not get along with my stepdad.  He is greedy and just a terrible person.  Too much to go into.  We had words with him.  Anyways, he decided he would take back a Christmas gift that was from my mom and him last year.  It was an outside TV antenna.  He said it was his and he was taking it back.  I thought when you gave someone a gift it was theirs?  I just said ok whatever.   ...

One For The LadiesApr 04, 2012
One for the ladies One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweatshirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?" "It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?" He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma." And they say blondes are dumb... A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world." The woman replies, "I'll miss you..." "It's j ...

LADIESMar 01, 2010
So, I was watching a television show.  I guess it's become the new "thing" for older women to prey on younger men, and the younger men to look for "cougars".  Wondering, how young would you go?  One of the women on the show was 54 (she looked really good, but had a lot of work done...) and regularly dated men in their 20s!  That to me is way to young.  My feeling is, if you're old enough to be a mom or grandmother, best to stick to your age "box".   ...

Question For The Ladies Regarding PMSFeb 11, 2013
I just have a question.  I just turned 38 years old.  In the past, with my menstrual cycle, I never had "PMS" symptoms, never had cramps or cravings or "attitude" or anything.  I have noticed within the past year that I have become INCREDIBLY cranky just before my menstrual cycle.  I have noted that within the past few months, it is BEYOND cranky.  Sometimes, I am just so aggravated that I seriously feel like I have so much built in anger that I want to punch a wall! &nb ...

Some good common sense and an irate reaction to Trump here, so probably this might be only for those of us who do not like Donald Trump - definitely a liberal cast to this blog, but what the heck I have to skim through those diatribes from the Heritage Foundation and that awful Judge Jeanine, so about time to spread a bit of progressive wealth of knowledge. I have not put the entire post - bear in mind the beginning is very good and will make you laugh out loud, so please read if you are so inc ...

Ah, Love Is In The Air But Ladies, Did You EverFeb 12, 2016
Many years ago I was married and my husband had this thing of leaving, just leaving without any problems going on. No money issues, no arguments, just up and leaving, sometimes for months. I started an on the job affair with a guy, eventually leaving the marriage because the new love was hot, hot, hot! The on the job affair lasted for a year or more, even years later we reconnected for a short period. Fond memories. ...

So....what Did You Ladies Think Of Magic Mike?Jul 06, 2012
I thought the language was a little much....I mean, come on, nobody cusses and uses the F word that much, do they?  Aside from that, I thought the story was cute, and the dancing was pretty hot.  I have never been to a male strip tease show, but I am told that men make more at it than women. It's funny because all of the women in our family, and large circle of friends, went together.  It is really not a good movie for men (even if they were gay).  None of the men, of c ...

What Skin Products Do You Ladies Use?Feb 04, 2013
I have older (40) skin that is acne prone. I'm looking for a skin product that doesn't over dry as acne products can sometimes do because my skin is older and now wrinkle prone too. I use neutrogena moisturizer, aveeno dry skin oatmeal bar, and retin A. I only wear foundation maybe once or twice a week (neutrogena). I know it's the products that are causing me to break out because I used to use Rhonda Allison and didn't break out, my skin looked great, however, Rhonda All ...

Okay Ladies, What Kind Of Skin Care Regimen Do You Use?Sep 29, 2011
I looking for a new skin care regimen.  I'm 44 and have a round, chubby face which I used to hate, but now realize it has prevented me from getting a lot of wrinkles.  I have a few fine lines around my eyes and those parentheses around my mouth, if you know what I mean.  I'm looking for something to prevent future wrinkles and to work on what I have.  I have freckles and have sun damaged my skin when I was younger, so my skin is blotchy without makeup. The Christmas FruitcakeDec 08, 2011
I say there are two kinds of people in this world, those who like fruitcake and those who don't; my son tells me I am wrong, there are three kinds of people in this world, those who are good at math and those who are not. I like fruitcake, I admit it, I'm not ashamed to say so -- so last night I bought a little itty-bitty $3.99 fruitcake to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with a cup of herbal tea and a small slice after I finish work.  My son, on the other hand, says "Ug ...
