I am just so stinking depressed I cannot stand it!

Posted: Apr 27, 2014

I needed a job for so long and was so happy when i got one (it gets old quick having to apply for assistance....especially since it does not last forever).  Finally got a good job, but am in pain all the time and so tired!  I am just so tired:(((((

What's the job? Is it worth doing? If it's with MM or N, it's not worth doing and it's not worth getting depressed over. Can you see a therapist on the county dime?

I just finished reading Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich and she had very perceptive things to say about job demands, esp. low wage jobs.

It is not with MM or N. It is with a place - sm

that has a ton of work and then some. I should not say too much or I could get in trouble, but just very tired of all the sitting and demanding extra work. Thank you both!!

Have you tried any natural remedies? I drink grape juice with Certo (or any kind of juice) and coconut oil, check them out, they both work really good. Just be careful with the coconut oil, you can drink it or apply it but if you drink it start slow as it will open up the bowels.

You are NOT alone - wanting to quit

I cannot give a post with so much pain in it a like :-( Depression is a terrible thing. Online support is a thin gruel, and I truly hope you can good support and treatment in your community. Look to local mental health, churches, missions.

Thank you, too!! It is a vicious circle. I get - sm

depressed because I have no job, then get one with way too much sit-down-and-type time that I cannot stand it, but have no energy to do anything about it:( I have been seeking help locally. Ironically, I cannot afford private pay or cash (whatever it is called) and there are no other choices of places around here other than one I went to for years and left because my current therapist continually canceled on me. I think I depressed her! HAH!! Sorry, gotta laugh or I will cry.

Please consider contacting a local church - for counseling

They will often provide that service for free or a very nominal fee. Of course, a clergyman will not prescribe antidepressants, but you do sound like you need someone to talk to. God bless you, and I pray that your depression lifts very soon.

Thank you:) - nm

Anyone Else Depressed About Getting Old?May 12, 2011
I'm talking the physical signs.  I've been steadily gaining weight since mid 30s, my arm and shoulder skin is starting to sag, and all the fat is accumulating in my midsection.  My butt has lost its shape, I have grayish skin and spider veins.  The skin around my eyes is loose, my skin is pale and pasty looking, hair is fading to an unhealthy color, lips are thinning out, and I look like a corpse with makeup on.  Sometimes I don't even feel like bothering with ...

Depressed Mar 03, 2013
I posted before about my stepdad taking back a couple Christmas gifts previously. Well there was a family dispute between my husband and my stepdad. I think my stepdad is evil. He lies constantly. He tells my mom lies about us that are not true and she believes him. After my stepdad and husband got into an altercation my mom said this will not change our relationship; I will still come to visit you and call you. That has not been the case though. My birthday came and went and no phone ...

Soo DepressedJun 02, 2013
I'm so depressed, it's literally almost unbearable at times. I have to find a way out of this. I've tried most antidepressants over the years, and the side effects make it just not worth it to me to take them. A couple of the OTC medications are pretty good, but with the same side effects of ankle swelling, hair loss, weight gain, and insomnia. I've been off everything for about two years, except I'm still hooked on Ambien, which I've weaned down to about 3 mg ...

So DepressedOct 25, 2014
I am in the depths of a major depressive episode (part of my bipolar disorder).  This job doesn't help with that except to make it worse.  I am partially retired, but due to financial constraints, can't fully retire for another 4 years.  I just don't think I can make it that long.  I'm under a psychiatrist's care, and I'm thinking maybe an increase in my meds or changing them altogether might be in order.  Does anybody have any suggestions?& ...

Depressed HusbandApr 17, 2012
I have been married for 25 years and together we have two wonderful, grown kids, 20 and 22 who are still living at home.  No problem with that. My husband has major depression which is usually (okay, about 50%) under fairly good control.  He's on a couple of meds, which I'm not sure are still working right, but what little health insurance we have doesn't cover either mental health services or medications, so he's very resistant to going to a psychiatrist to get th ...

Job Burn Out Or DepressedApr 12, 2014
I have been a medical transcriptionist for 16 years.  For the past 8 years I have been doing children's psychiatry full time and working for MModal part time. I dread each job now and it's a struggle to stay focused each day...I hate hearing day in and day out the sexual/physical abuse most of the children are put though and then I come home after a full day of hearing that and then I'm stressed working for MM/MQ.  I'm thinking of going back to school (not sure ...

Thankful For My Health But Can't Help But Be Depressed...Dec 19, 2011
I must say after doing some reports where people are not near as healthy as I am I am thankful for that. I can't help but be depressed though because Christmas this year is not much at my house. My husband lost his job in October and got another one in November (thankful for that) but it is only part time. He may go a week without any work or work everyday some weeks. But mostly he hasn't got to work much. We are doing all we can to keep our heads above water much less buy Christm ...

Why I Wouldn't Be Entirely Depressed If Mr. Romney Did Win.Aug 27, 2012
(And we're mostly women here, after all). This was Sunday on Fox News. Mr. Romney: “With regards to women’s health care, look, I’m the guy that was able to get health care for all the women and men in my state,” Mitt Romney said in an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” before making sure to attack Obama’s law. “There’s talking about it at the federal level, we actually did something. And we did it without cutting Medicare and without raisi ...

Adjustment Disorder With Anxiety And Depressed Mood Jun 17, 2015
is my (MT-related) dx after finally visiting a shrink last week.  One of these days, I'm optimistically hoping to be "adjusted" again, in a new field!  Not that I'm not a good MT, I have confidence that I'm very good at what I do, but it's just -- you know. Thanks for reading. This forum is the only place I have any communication at all with "coworkers," and I can't begin to tell you how much I value it.  It lets me know I'm still sane.   : ) ...

Where Do You Stand?May 28, 2011
More and more Americans receive government assistance of some kind whether it be WICC, food stamps, disability, welfare, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.  Not to mention the illegal aliens in our country who are costing our country money as well. We are consistently spending more money than we bring in.  Our nation’s deficit is over $14 trillion dollars.  Taxing the wealthy more will not even cover our current costs…let alone our debt.  If we ran our lives or business li ...

TV Longer Than Stand?Nov 16, 2011
I am definitely challenged when it comes to knowing if something looks right.  I'm thinking of getting a new flat screen television and the one I have in mind is about 10 inches longer than the stand I have.  I love my stand and matching tables and want to keep it/them.  I never see TVs longer than stands in ads and in displays.  I don't want to buy it, get it home and set up only to find I really hate it that it is longer than the stand.  Anybody care to offer ...

I don't know about you, but I think it's time for some changes on The View.  I think it's time for Joy and Barbara to go.  I like Barbara, but she has gotten a little to intrusive and interrupts too much, and goes on and on redundantly.  Joy...well, all she does is bash people.  It's funny how she calls herself a comedienne, but she's actually not.  Very few comedians left these days in my opinion....Ellen, Seinfeld, can't think of another&# ...

Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer QuestionJan 12, 2013
I received a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for Xmas and I am thrilled, but any time I try to make a risen dough, bread, pizza crust, etc., they do not rise sufficiently and seem tough. I always kneaded these things by hand and never had the problem, but when I use the mixer it does not seem right. Am I overmixing? I am following the instructions to the letter, so if anyone has any feedback, that would be appreciated. Last week we had the great pizza disaster of 2013 and all ate salami sandwiches f ...
