What is the one word that you cannot stand

What is the one (or more) words that just makes you cringe when you hear it and you just shudder inside (besides swear words of course). Mine is - "pee". Don't ask me why but anytime I hear that word I cringe and almost lose it.

Really, any kind of corporate speak like that knots my noodle, but for some reason that word especially.

Once I worked at a place where our boss was VERY "corporate". We always seemed to be having boring, useless meetings, where she'd blab on and on, throwing all her corporate lingo at us.

We used to play "meeting bingo". Someone would draw up different lists of the boss's favorite words, and hand them out to those playing. We would hide the lists in steno pads, and pretend to be taking notes during the meeting. Whenever she said a certain word, we would check it off. There were two ways to win: Either by checking off all of the words on your list, or, if no one got all of them, then whoever had the most checkmarks won. (Many words were said more than once, so whenever you heard the word, you added another checkmark).

One caveat: If you ever play meeting bingo, be sure to suppress the urge to stand up and shout "BINGO!" if you win.

We had a hospital vice president that always said 'predicated upon'. When he would come to our Medical Record meetings, you didn't dare look at another person when he would say that. He always thought we were a happy group but we were actually trying not to laugh at him.

There is no such thing as a true "upgrade".

There is "screw up".
There is "tweak til it breaks".
There is "stick a band aid on a huge problem and hope no one notices".
There is "write software that is so malicious to the users' PCs, that having a real virus would be an improvement".
And finally, there is "jiggle the wires again.. maybe that'll help".

But there is NO SUCH ANIMAL as a true "upgrade".

I hate the word Veggies. It sounds so Sesame Street. And if a man uses the word "panties" for women's underwear. I don't mind it from a woman, but if a man says it, it makes me nauseous.

I can NOT stand this word!!! The fact that over the years it is used in a derogatory manner just irks me to no end. My kids have all said it ONCE and only once!!! I will stop talking to my husband if he uses this word. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a desk clerk one time who used the word "like" after every third word. I put my arm around her one time and said to the rest of the group that we were going to see how many times Tana could use the word like in one sentence. she just laughed and said her mom said the same thing.

Nothing gets me more angry than when someone refers to a mental health unit as the looneybin. Believe it or not, I worked in a hospital and heard two physicians chuckling about a patient and referring to his illness in this way. Hands down. . For me it's looneybin.

Always hated that word. A doc I transcribed for once dictated, "The wound is *****." Oh, I typed it verbatim as instructed. Needless to say, he thought it best to change to "filled with pus." Who'd a thunk it!

I dont like "pooch". To me, calling a dog a "pooch" - is like begging to be bitten. sm-

I think it's because most of the people who call a dog a "pooch" seem to know less than nothing about how to act around animals in general, and how to approach them.

I am definitely challenged when it comes to knowing if something looks right. I'm thinking of getting a new flat screen television and the one I have in mind is about 10 inches longer than the stand I have. I love my stand and matching tables and want to keep it/them. I never see TVs longer than stands in ads and in displays. I don't want to buy it, get it home and set up only to find I really hate it that it is longer than the stand. Anybody care to offer ...

I received a Kitchen Aid stand mixer for Xmas and I am thrilled, but any time I try to make a risen dough, bread, pizza crust, etc., they do not rise sufficiently and seem tough.
