Coffee breaks without losing productivity

Posted: Oct 22, 2009

Thought I'd share -- I finally found a way to get a fresh cup of coffee in under 2 minutes (fingers not typing=no money)...  I found a great website that delivers single serve coffee makers & machines.  The machine brews in about 45 seconds, so I'm back at it faster.  What's even better, my 10-year-old can now make me a cup because it's so easy to use.  My 6 a.m. shift is a little easier now :)

I have an Aeropress. Love it. - CrankyBeach

I use it to make lattes, sort of. I make the espresso shot, then fill the mug with milk and nuke it for another minute. The milk isn't frothy and froofy but it sure tastes like a latte. And the machine is cheap and VERY easy to clean, and easy to use.

And you can take your occasional trip "down the hall" either while the water is heating, or while the espresso-and-milk is heating in the microwave. Hey, you have to go "down the hall" anyway, so might as well make your coffee at the same time.

Love Aeropress. Makes a great cuppa java.

I've found that these make a GREAT cup of coffee. It's basically just like making tea, they come in one cup serving packets that you put in hot water and it's perfect. Yummo.

(or you just make your husband make the coffee in the morning!) ;-)

Found Folgers singles about 8 years ago....Love them, plus they are portable! - nm

I have a Keurig and Tassimo at home, and a small Keurig in my office at my day job. Love both of them as my coffee is made quickly and I don't waste a whole pot. I can't stand old coffee that tastes burnt.

Old java - sm

Same here; don't think it takes any time at all for coffee to start tasting scorched. Make java 1 cup at a time with the aeropress. Haven't heard of the Keurig or Tassimo; will have to google those.

Tax Breaks For Special Interests In Compromised BillDec 12, 2010
So, now the dems have added more to the pot. Dozens of tax breaks designed to help a wide variety of interests - students, teachers, energy companies and lots of others - are due to expire at the end of the year, and most of them have been tacked on to the White House/Republican tax-cut deal to help it get through Congress The final package, released late Thursday, would extend tax credits for producing ethanol and for hiring American Indians. It would maintain deductions for teachers who ...

Bucl Sexton Breaks Down President Obama's Jul 08, 2014
Sexton introduced his audience to a concept he learned while working at the Central Intelligence agency called “red cell.” “Red cell is basically a war-gaming exercise, but it looks specifically at high-impact, low-probability scenarios,” Sexton explained. “Things that could happen, and if they did happen, would really make a very big difference. It also looks at things that are likely, and tries to then give us a sense — an analytic sense — of where all this is going.” “ ...

Tom Hanks Breaks From Hollywood Pack MentalityNov 17, 2016
In what is certainly sure to draw ire from some, if not many, in the Hollywood community, two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks opted for grace and class when speaking about President-elect Donald Trump. After a week of hysteria-laden open letters and Twitter rants from entertainment industry liberals like Aaron Sorkin and Joss Whedon, Hanks' calm demeanor and response really stood out. The actor was being honored at the Museum of Modern Art in New York when he offered a refreshing dose o ...

Coffee Craving!Dec 02, 2009
This is the halfway point in my workday.  I usually head to a local coffee shop for my fix.  My favorite this season is the pumpkin spice.  So delish!  I also like the creme brulee, but it's so sweet.  I hope there's something new on the menu today!  I'm going to get a muffin too. Brown Teeth From CoffeeMar 19, 2012
I saw how may coffee lovers we have on this board below, and I am certainly one of them, but I just can't stand how brown my teeth turn when I drink it. Any tips to keep this from happening? I brush twice a day, and I even gave up tea and coffee for a couple of months and my teeth turned back to white. Keurig Coffee MakerJun 13, 2010
Had company a few weeks ago and they bought a Keurig coffee maker for us along with a variety of coffe "pods". So far, I have not found a coffee we like as much as Folger's 100% Columbian medium dark roast. All the ones we tried seem either too strong too acidic. Happy Coffee LoverNov 24, 2012
I finally found the perfect coffee maker!  Since there's only me, and I only drink one large mug of coffee day, there's no point in making a whole pot of coffee.  I've never liked the single-cup makers with the proprietary pods, since you never really know how fresh the coffee is, besides being expensive.   Then I found the perfect maker - a Hamilton Beach Scoop.  It lets you use your own coffee, and requires no filters.  It lets you choose between&nb ...

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee CakeApr 01, 2012
I just made the most scrumptious blueberry sour cream coffee cake. It was so moist and sweet, but not too sweet. DH told me it tasted like something we used to get in Germany. So I wanted to pass on the recipe if anyone is interested. I can't wait til later to have another piece. The recipe said to use a mixer, but I creamed the butter and sugar with a fork (my mixer is packed away), then I used a wire whisk to mix the rest. I also used a bundt pan, but am sure it could be made in ano ...

THIS IS WHAT DEMS LOSING LOOKS LIKEOct 04, 2012
They set themselves up to lose earlier this week b/c they knew that man-to-man, without the editing prowess of MSNBC and the networks, that their guy would lose big time....and he did. However, after debate - it's all good.
