Brown teeth from coffee

I saw how may coffee lovers we have on this board below, and I am certainly one of them, but I just can't stand how brown my teeth turn when I drink it. Any tips to keep this from happening? I brush twice a day, and I even gave up tea and coffee for a couple of months and my teeth turned back to white. I want to go for some interviews outside the house and don't want to be afraid of my smile. Dental treatments seem kind of pricey, but may go that route or else have to give up coffee :(

unless I add cream then I drink it from the cup. Someone told me that it's the color of the coffee that stains your teeth so if you add creamer and change the color, no need to worry about stains

Many plastics are NOT intended to be heated. Heat breaks down/degrades some plastics and may leech carcinogens into the food/beverage. Plastic straws intended for cold drinks may fall into that category.

Crest White Strips (directions on box) always take any surface stains right off of my choppers (and sometimes you can find really good coupons on them, too).

I am sure they find it heartwarming to know that you refer to them as your "gay" friends. Since this is how you acknowledge them, I am sure they rank different than your white, black, Asian, Mexican, cat loving, dog loving, fat, smelly, etc friends!!

What toothpaste do you use? You might try brushing more than twice a day, like after every meal. Tartar accumulates pretty fast in some people and that collects its own stains. Look to see if you let the coffee sit on your teeth as you drink it.

I use a Sonicare ultrasonic toothbrush -- ultrasonic not just electric -- which I swear by. I use Arm & Hammer baking soda and peroxide toothpaste and also Rembrandt, both of which clean better, IMO. Rembrandt is formulated to remove stains. You do not need a lot of it.

Try brushing with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Swish and rinse with hydrogen peroxide, letting it foam a minute. You can dilute it a bit. Peroxide is a bleaching agent. It is quite economical.

I use Rembrandt Intense Stain toothpaste once a day and my regular toothpaste for my other daily brushings.
It's a little pricey, $7.95 for 3 ounces, available at Target, but I do notice a nice difference when I use it regularly.

The other thing I find interesting with my dentist and his digital x-rays is that for probably 12 years I have not had a cavity and I did get x-rays from my regular dentist that retired and also from a periodontist I went to but when I switched dentists a year or so ago I seem to always have something he finds. Okay, weird question, but I'm wondering if your teeth shift around after a certain age (I'm 53). The reason is this. About 4 months or so ago I had a tooth that broke in half. It is one that has a filling. Went to the dentist and it cannot be repaired. It needs to be extracted and then I would get a bridge or partial. Just curious to know how much coffee you are all drinking per day. I have an espresso machine and I make 2 large lattes a day, both with about 4 shots of espresso each. Got my Mukka and my Kimbo Italian imported coffee and... WOW. My husband helped me figure out to set up the pot and it's just beyond amazing. The espresso is excellent. Had company a few weeks ago and they bought a Keurig coffee maker for us along with a variety of coffe "pods". So far, I have not found a coffee we like as much as Folger's 100% Columbian medium dark roast. All the ones we tried seem either too strong too acidic. Looking for suggestions on which coffee to try. Not sure I would have purchased one of these "gadgets" as it is pricey and the "pods" are pricey, but it is nice for that first cup in the a.m. and even a late afternoon ...

Thought I'd share -- I finally found a way to get a fresh cup of coffee in under 2 minutes (fingers not typing=no money)... I found a great website that delivers single serve coffee makers & machines. The machine brews in about 45 seconds, so I'm back at it faster. I just made the most scrumptious blueberry sour cream coffee cake. It was so moist and sweet, but not too sweet. DH told me it tasted like something we used to get in Germany.
