Teeth whitening

What do you use to have whiter teeth?  I have noticed as I am getting older that my teeth are not near as white as they used to be.

I brush my teeth with Colgate Optic White and then I brush them again with pure baking soda.

I use EcoDent ExtraBrite powdered toothpaste - and whitener which I

purchase from Vitacost along with SmileActives tooth whitening pens from QVC. I'm 62 and when I started this regimen, my teeth were so yellow I was embarrassed to smile, so much so that I actually asked someone if my teeth were as yellow as I thought and they said, "not yellow, just old." Well thanks bozo! My teeth are whiter and brighter now and I'm happy with them. This is not an overnight fix, it took a month for me to see a difference using the pens twice, maybe 3 times a day 3 times a week at most. I use the powdered toothpaste because I don't want sugar or fluoride or those other additives. The pens work quite well and you can paint the clear goo on easily.

whitestrips, then peroxide - sm

Get signed up (snail mail and email)with Procter & Gamble for coupons and free samples. You can get a $5 off coupon for Crest 3D Whitestrips and also get a free sample. If you have a PO Box and a street address, use both for 2 coupons and 2 free samples.

Then, use peroxide. It's cheap and effective if you use it about 4 to 5 times a week (once a day) after brushing. Take about 3 capfuls in your mouth and hold the liquid between your teeth and lips for about 10 minutes. It makes a noticeable difference. NOTICE: It will make your teeth temporarily sensitive at first and might leave temporary white spots on your gums, but the white strips do the same exact thing. The white strips have benzoyl peroxide in them, too.

I use baking soda and Jason Sea Fresh toothpaste. nm - wanttoknow

Rembrandt (sm) - Bindi

I have bought Rembrandt toothpaste at Target (about $7). I brush with it once a day and use my regular toothpaste the rest of the day. Has really helped.

When I'm impoverished, I use regular toothpaste and follow it up with baking soda.

Try rinsing with peroxide when you brush. - It really works! nm

from the late, great Mitch Hedberg, who said he was going to get his teeth whitened, but then decided to just get a tan instead! :)

I rinse with hydrogen peroxide for 2 minutes once - a month.

You'd be surprised the difference it makes. They look shockingly whiter immediately after.

OMG and that doesn't hurt (the gums)? eww. I think - you are stripping your teeth of natural

protection against cavities and weakening the bone substance. I'd check with a dentist about that habit and how ofted it's done.

Teeth are not supposed to be stark white. There is a hue called "bone color" for a reason. But that's just me. I see white teeth (especially with veneers) and immediately think about that Friends episode with Ross under black light looking like a smile with no face...but that's just me.

I use activated charcoal and a whitening rinse and toothpaste. A good dentist is best, but I can't afford that. I'm pleased with the results. It's messy.

Speaking About Teeth AgainNov 30, 2010
I am the one that posted about the caps.  The other thing I find interesting with my dentist and his digital x-rays is that for probably 12 years I have not had a cavity and I did get x-rays from my regular dentist that retired and also from a periodontist I went to but when I switched dentists a year or so ago I seem to always have something he finds.  Not only the capping situation and pulling off caps and redoing them but also he redid a filling he said was leaking and now he finds ...

I Had Something Stuck In My TeethNov 09, 2014
this is the second time this has happened to me.  Something gets stuck in my teeth (once it was a piece of dental floss, this time a piece of meat).  It stays there until it starts to smell bad, and after a few days I discover it and I'm so embarrassed.  I had to go someplace the other night and discovered the problem two days later (I had a feeling something wasn't right, from the reactions I was getting from people).  I was so mad at my husband.  I said how c ...

Brown Teeth From CoffeeMar 19, 2012
I saw how may coffee lovers we have on this board below, and I am certainly one of them, but I just can't stand how brown my teeth turn when I drink it. Any tips to keep this from happening? I brush twice a day, and I even gave up tea and coffee for a couple of months and my teeth turned back to white. I want to go for some interviews outside the house and don't want to be afraid of my smile. Dental treatments seem kind of pricey, but may go that route or else have to give up coffe ...

How To Get 2-year-old To Brush Her TeethNov 01, 2011
I've tried everything to get my 2-year-old daughter to brush her teeth.  I've put her in front of a mirror and brushed my teeth and tried to get her to copy me but she wouldn't.  I've tried making it a fun game and that didn't work.  I've told her she has bugs in her mouth that need to be  brushed out and that didn't work.  I let her pick out a toothbrush at the store that she liked and that didn't work.  Her teeth need to be ...

Do Teeth Shift If You Are Over 50 Years OldFeb 25, 2013
Okay, weird question, but I'm wondering if your teeth shift around after a certain age (I'm 53). The reason is this.  About 4 months or so ago I had a tooth that broke in half.  It is one that has a filling.  Went to the dentist and it cannot be repaired.  It needs to be extracted and then I would get a bridge or partial.  It is not in the front, it is in the middle (3rd tooth from my back molar - in other words if I smile or laugh you don't see it).  ...
