He messaged a willingness to consider higher taxes as part of a tax code overhaul "under the right conditions." He then turned around and referenced past budget talks he had with the president, who Boehner said "endorsed the idea of tax reform and lower rates, including the top rate of lower than 35%."

recognize what a fossil he's become, which makes it doubtful he will ever understand that his retirement is long overdue. His 2002 victory election margin went from 29% to 7% in 2008. He's up for re-election in 2014. He thinks megacash will scare off his partisan and primary challengers, but his fundraiding juggernaut indicates he's fully aware how vulnerable he is should a formidable challenge come his way. Would love to see him crash and burn, then get booted out in the disgrace he's brought down upon the Senate chambers, his office and himself. He's earned nothing but our disgust and contempt.

He's a liar (he heard Mitt was a murderer) and doesn't do his job - bills and budgets submitted to him by the House which he won't bring up for a vote. That's what this board is for. To discuss issues. We all should be able to discuss our opinions about a topic without being ridiculed, called liars, not credible, links not credible, or if someone doesn't like what a poster has to say call it hijacking or drive bys.

I think her opinion on the subject was well thought out.

for them is such a terrible idea that even a semi-competent-at-best like Boehner has to recognize that.

For all the intransigence of those who're salving themselves on Fox right now with the notion that their loss is due to the moral decline of the American people (choosing someone who'll give us "things" and "stuff"), their self interest is going to require at least some potentially profitable honesty. And if not genuine interest in doing the job we send them there for, at least a better pretense of doing it.

I hope the blowback to the GOP is like a death knell to the party.
