When he took office (by Woodward's account, not mine - and he's no conservative), Republicans greeted him with genuine goodwill.
Eric Cantor (R) was among the leaders called to the Oval Office 3 days after the inauguration. He arrived with several ideas, including (PLEASE NOTE, DEMS):
1. LOWERING the BOTTOM TWO TAX BRACKETS.
2. MAKING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS NONTAXABLE.
Obama rejected these and other ideas before Cantor could even finish delivering them, and here is what he said:
"Elections have consequences, Eric - AND I WON!" There was other similar garbage from Obama during this meeting and the one after that. This set the tone for what Obama now likes to whine about - the Republicans were on notice that Obama had absolutely NO intention of working with them, and that's exactly what he has shown throughout his 4 years.
Anyone who can even consider reelecting this classless boob needs to seriously rethink any such ideas.
