skyrocket, not because of ACA but the uncertainty on if they will get paid through subsidities with the republican plan.  A big part is the pubs want to remove the mandate that everyone have insurance.

What folks don't understand is that was the whole idea of the mandate.  You can't just have sick people have insurance.  I know you folks on the pub side will disagree with this idea yet you have no problem with people losing insurance if they have preexisting conditions and older people, which by the way many of you probably fit in that category.  I have read other articles where some insurance companies will be raising rates as much as 50%.

To me, they were so hell-bent on repealing the ACA that they did not take their time and put a plan together that truly helped everyone, as Trump vowed to do.  I have no problem with making changes to the ACA or even a new plan, but removing the mandate and cutting the subsidies is only hurting us and all the anti-ACA people will also get hurt too.

For those of you who will criticize the source, this is not an anti-Trump or anti-Obama article, it is just an article pointing out what is happening and going to happen until this whole debockle is figured out.  My view is they rushed this through to appease Trump supporters without putting much thought into what would happen.  They didn't do enough research on all angles of their plan and who will get hurt is not one party or the other, it is all of us.

But, but, but TRUMP says they will - Go down! He says so

Who is the most interesting person you have ever met?  Why? OR:  Who is the most influential person you have ever met and why?    For me the most interesting person I ever met was when I was in college.  To fill in some elective hours I was suppose to take 9 credit hours of history.  I registered late one semester and the Latin American history class (Mex-Black American) I wanted to take was filled up.  All that was left was African America history.  W ...

but related and nonpartisan (I hope). How much difference do you think any candidate can make under the present system?  It is said that every senator, from the time they take office, has to spend 1/3 of their time raising money for the next election.  Once in office they then have to "pay back" their donors in some way.  Would you like to see the system change and how do you think it would affect politics?      ...

Serious question:  Does anyone ever wonder why you exist.  I mean what is the purpose of life.  I have no kids, don't live near family.  I get up, walk to the computer, turn it on and work, and work, and work, and work.  Oh yeah, pay bills, go grocery shopping, and cook.  Have a DH but he doesn't work (lack of jobs in the economy).  My family is across country, his family is in another state.  Have no friends.  Sometimes I feel like I just e ...

We Need A New Topic To Discuss And DebateMay 08, 2011
On my mind has been the stealth helicoptor that was left behind in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. I think the young heroes on that raid just got a little too anxious on that one. We could talk about whether or not America tortures people, waterboarding, etc. I believe that torture isn't right, whether it's being done to or by American soldiers. Another topic I wouldn't mind discussing is whether Americans disagree about politics more these days than in the past. ...

interesting points.  The article is about the ban.  It seems to me that the president should continue, as both Bush and Obama did, on putting new and adventagious things in the vetting process.  We can always improve on things but an all-out ban to me is not adventagious. The video in this touches on a few other points.  Perhaps listen with an open mind and maybe you will see how this "fine tuned" machine is running. ...
