Michael Steele - pragmatism.

Steve Schmidt - pragmatism.

Joe Manchin. From what I've seen...he seems to actually care about the working class.

Let's start with - Christie

I TOTALLY admire him for saying it like it is, taking responsibility, GIVING THE PRESIDENT credit when he deserves it, and being there for the people of New Jersey during and after Sandy.

It remains to be seen what the fallout will be from the bridge issue, but he earned my respect for the above regardless.
ALSO? John McCain although as soon as he shows statesmanship on one hand, he ticks me off on the other hand (I have not forgiven him for foisting Palin on us mainly because she is like bad company who doesn't know when to leave!)

input - my choices

I like Christie for his moxie. I dislike his bullying, so probably different sides of the same coin. I could listen to Andrew Sullivan and David Brooks discuss conservatism without getting angry.

Can posters say which side they are - posting?

I don't know all these names, and curious to see who is responding wo having to google ;)

I posted for Christie, who is obviously GOP, so that makes me, by the OP's post, a (proud) progressive.

sorry - NK

I thought everyone knows I'm a bleeding heart liberal. :)

Michael Steele was chairman of the RNC for 1 term.

Steve Schmidt was a senior advisor to the McCain/Palin ticket.

Lieberman - sm

I don't know if he is left enough anymore for the progressives to like him, but this conservative admires him for his sane and reasonable perceptions of balance. If he's not acceptable for your little quiz, then I have nothing else to offer.

Here's one for both sides :) - Bloomberg

I also agreed with him on the soft drink thing even though I think he went about it the wrong way.

I TOTALLY support him on standing up the NRA - 80-90% of Americans support background checks. We should all be able to get behind this -

Anybody Had An NCV Test?Jun 10, 2011
Well, after putting up with this wrist/hand pain for way longer than I should have, I finally went in to see my PCP yesterday. She told me I would have to have an NCV of the upper extremities before she could advise me further on what could be done. I called the facility yesterday and was able to get it on Monday morning at 8. I'm a bit nervous as I've never had this done before. Is it relatively painless? What should I expect? They told me it would take about an hour and not to wear a ...

How Accurate Is The AFP Prenatal Test In Predicting Down's Syndrome?Mar 04, 2010
My niece is pregnant with her first child.  She is young, 19 years old, so she is not considered high risk.  However, in her prenatal screening, she had what her doctor called "a slightly abnormal" AFP test.  Everyone was pretty upset and I did a little research and found conflicting information.  Some say the test should stop being performed because it is inaccurate.  My niece has decided to forego having an amniocentesis because she says it will not change her mind.&n ...

‘Tough S.O.B.’ Harry Reid Faces Biggest Test YetJan 26, 2015
Badly injured, Harry Reid’s political future was left for dead.  It was early 2009, and the Senate Democratic Leader was reeling from the revelation that he praised Barack Obama’s “light skin” and lack of a “Negro dialect.” Polls showed Reid going to the way of his predecessor, Tom Daschle, who lost reelection in 2004, as the Nevadan faced revolt both at home and in Washington, and on both the right and left. Just a third Nevadans said they wou ...

How much difference do you think any candidate can make under the present system?  It is said that every senator, from the time they take office, has to spend 1/3 of their time raising money for the next election.  Once in office they then have to "pay back" their donors in some way.  Would you like to see the system change and how do you think it would affect politics?      ...

We Need A New Topic To Discuss And DebateMay 08, 2011
On my mind has been the stealth helicoptor that was left behind in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. I think the young heroes on that raid just got a little too anxious on that one. The Washington Post's "Pinocchio Test": Marc Rubio Earned 4 For His Iraq AnswerMay 19, 2015
The Washington Post delivers a "Pinocchio Test" every time a candidate says something that is not based on fact that's interesting to follow.  The reason it is a rating scale is because they check what they said for fact and it's a ranged scale, from 1 to 4, based on everything from possible misinterpretations and selective truth-telling to outright falsehoods.
