the 1960s. They says its a "revolution." John Lennon wrote about "Revolution" and wanted nothing to do with it.

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know We all want to change the world

You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know We all want to change the world

BUT WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT DESTRUCTION DON'T YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN COUNT ME OUT!

Don't you know it's gonna be all right?
All right, all right

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know We'd all love to see the plan

You ask me for a contribution Well, you know We're all doing what we can

BUT IT YOU WANT MONEY FOR PEOPLE WITH MINDS THAT HATE, All I can tell is brother you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be all right? All right, all right

YOU SAY YOU'LL CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION
Well, you know We all want to change your head

You tell me it's the institution Well, you know You better free you mind instead

BUT IF YOU GO CARRYING PICTUERS OF CHAIRMAN MAO You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

Don't you know it's gonna be all right?
All right, all right!
All right, all right, all right!
All right, all right, all right!
All right, all right!

Lennon wanted nothing to do with it! That's what this song is all about.

I only care how they affect things now. The people representing these parties for the past 10 years or so still have an effect on today's candidates, thus, the Bush years and the Clinton years and the Obama years are pertinent, but other than that, we are just discussing history, not politics. More pertinent is how the candidates of today view the policies of those office holders, whether they are of the same "party" or not. For instance, apparently Trump thinks that Bush was responsible for 911. Interesting dilemma for the Republicans to determine whether they can support that accusation.

I, personally would take the Democratic party of now, hands down, over the Republican lies and intrigue that has amassed over the past 10 years....and yesterday and today.

"GOP Platform Through The Years Shows The Party's ShiftSep 06, 2012
This article from the Washington Post is easy reading, very interesting, not offensive to anyone, and gives a quick historic overview through our lifetimes. As it says, "What it means to be a Republican has changed enormously over the past half-century." The platforms of 1980 and 1992 are the biggies, the big "pivot points."  The watershed platform of 1980 introduces tax cuts and an increasingly critical attitude toward government. “The Republican Party declares war on governm ...

The Tea Party (disgusting And Full Of Vitrole And Hatred) Are Not The Republican Party HopefullyApr 17, 2011
I hope with everything I have in me that the Tea Party does not represent the Republican Party. This is what the Tea Party stands for. They are full of vitriole and hatred. This is not what the Republican party stands for. See comments by Republican Party of Orange County Chairman Scott Baugh, "It's just highly inappropriate, it's a despicable message, it drips with racism and I think she should step down from the committee," said Baugh. "Davenport, a tea party activist, represents t ...

The Base Of The Republican PartySep 28, 2015
At a campaign event in South Carolina on Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush was asked how he planned to include black people in his campaign and get them to vote for him. Bush responded, “Our message is one of hope and aspiration.” But he didn’t stop there. He continued: “It isn’t one of division and get in line and we’ll take care of you with free stuff. Our message is one that is uplifting — that says you can achieve earned success.” There it is! If you ...

What The New Republican Party Can't UnderstandOct 30, 2015
I was talking to a Republican this week who, to paraphrase him, said that the Republicans have offered the country what it wants, a woman presidental candidate and one of color.  NO!  That is not what we want. We want candidates who are intelligent and capable. What you've offered us is incompetence and labels. It isn't important to have a woman president unless she knows the issues, as Hillary Clinton does. It most certainly doesn't help to have a person of color unles ...

The Republican Party Left Me This WeekMar 05, 2011
I had been so hopeful that our country could stop fighting and get things done, but the actions of the Republican party this week convinces me that's not going to happen. I'm very discouraged and disappointed. I don't want to be a Democrat either, but the Republicans' actions are pushing me that direction. Independents, do you feel left out if you aren't connected to one of the large parties? Maybe that's what I want to do. I'm also thinking, after this week&# ...

Speaking Of The Whiny New Republican PartyOct 29, 2015
Have all of you noticed that when they don't get their way, they throw temper tantrums? Undercover Clinton Operative Just Exposed; Entire Republican Party FuriousOct 31, 2016
Paul Ryan has been running a not-so-secret shadow campaign for Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton and Paul Ryan have many things in common, such as progressiveness, open borders, amnesty, special interest lobbyists, and global worldviews. Income and wealth inequality: In the United States today we have the most unequal wealth and income distribution of any major country on earth -- worse than at any time since the 1920s. RNC Chair Priebus: GOP Platform Is Not NecessarilyAug 22, 2012
This is a bold strategy indeed for the party creed rollout….a candidate disclaimer stating they are not bound to abide by party principles.  I guess it’s a handy escape hatch for a nominee who HAS no core beliefs.  See, the party wants to run on the personhood plank, but they just don’t want to damage their candidates’ future political careers too much by making them say it out loud, in case they need to recycle the VEEP candidate in 2016.  That Reinc ...
