Sergeant Bill O'Reilly in Combat
Posted: Feb 21, 2015
O'Reilly has spent years and years bloviating about all the time he's spent in combat. All this video and audio will be surfacing thanks to Bill-O's little name-calling tirade last night. Should be fun to watch. A nice little "miracle I found it" memo and a little pouty session where O'Reilly plays the poor little victim of the left-wing media meanies does not erase his years and years of claiming to have been in combat in a war zone.
Listen to O'Reilly at the link below:
"But I tell you what, I've been in combat. I've seen it; I've been close to it, and if my unit is in danger and I got a captured guy and the guy knows where the enemy is and I'm looking him in the eye, the guy better tell me. That's all I'm going to tell you. He better tell me. If it's life or death, he's going first."
"My unit is in danger"? "Life or death"? "A captured guy and the guy knows where the enemy is"? and "I've been in combat?" Wow! Listen to this guy go! This is an insult to every soldier who has put his life on the line for America by actually being in combat, and O'Reilly knows he has embellished his tales of being in combat, thus his going on Jimmy Kimmel and having a scintilla of compassion for Brian Williams and his embellishment, but of course only after he spins a healthy potion of his blowhard show and hammers away at Brian Williams and the left-wing media in the process.
What a lying, bloviating jerk this guy is!;
So, where's the video of Bill speaking about his combat? - Truthhurts

All I heard was Al Franken trying to be a comedian. He must have thought he was doing a skit on Saturday Night Live.
Using a political office to attack someone without being able to back up his statements is ridiculous.
The man needs to give up his Senate seat and allow someone who is seriously interested in working for the people instead of having a personal agenda using the office to attack people he doesn't like. :)
It's audio of Bill O'Reilly speaking about his "combat." - sm

Not sure why there is an expectation of video; my post clearly stated that there would be "video and audio" surfacing of O'Reilly embellishing his being in "combat." This is actually obviously audio, as the description on YouTube is very clearly identified as the Al Franken Show and states:
"Al parodies Bill O'Reilly's lies about his service in the military and his bravery on the battlefield as war correspondent. Original airdate: January 19, 2005."
It is not a new concept that O'Reilly has frequently embellished his time in "combat," with a pen, as he explains to the caller on the audio who asks him if he was ever in the military. Al Franken was not "trying" to be a comedian, it was actually his occupation for many years before he became a United States Senator. Franken did not even announce his candidacy until 2007 and was sworn into the Senate on July 7, 2009, so any accusation that Franken is using a political office to attack someone is simply untrue in this case.
If someone lives in Minnesota, that person is certainly free to cast a vote as to whether or not they wish Al Franken to continue to represent their state in his role as United States Senator. Otherwise, I'm not certain the citizens of Minnesota care whether or not conservatives approve of their elected politicians. Maybe someone from Minnesota can weigh in on this.
Again, this is audio that was taken from Al Franken's radio program in 2005 so it's clearly not a case of him using his office to attack anyone. :)

Question:
If you were in Warsaw, Poland right now, would you be in a war zone? 866 miles to "war zone" in Ukraine.
This is the generic "you"--not responding to anyone in particular.
The Hamptons in 2009, O'Reilly says, "When Argentines surrendered to British...I was out there pretty much by myself as the CBS news corresondents were hiding in the hotel ...you've got to get out there and cover the story."
Eric Engberg, former CBS Correspondent says "What he just said is a lie."
This goes to character, lying in general.
Watch Reliable Sources, CNN, it just destroys O'Reilly. This isn't over by far.

Bill O'Reilly (sm)Nov 25, 2009I was channel surfing last night and clicked on to Fox when Bill O'Reilly's show was on. Granted, I haven't seen Bill O'Reilly in some time, but he seemed to look somewhat gaunt and seemed to have less hair.
Does anyone know if he's sick? I really don't care for him or his show, but I don't want him to be sick, either. Has anyone else noticed a change in his appearance, or is it just me?
Just curious. ...

Bill O'Reilly Faces New Questions: His JFK StoryFeb 26, 2015Just as Bill O'Reilly was trying to move on from a dispute over his war stories, the Fox News host suddenly has more questions to answer.
This time, the scrutiny is being directed at an account of his investigation into John F. Kennedy's assassination.
O'Reilly's telling of it has gone like this: In 1977, Russian-born George de Mohrenschildt, who knew Lee Harvey Oswald, had been contacted by congressional investigators. O'Reilly, a reporter for a Dallas TV station ...

Women In Combat Could Hurt Retention, Feb 15, 2013Nearly one in four males in the U.S. Marine Corps said they would leave the service if women were involuntarily posted in combat positions, according to the executive summary of a little-known survey commissioned by Marine Corps leaders and obtained by the Free Beacon.
A similar number of Marines of both sexes said they would not have enlisted in the corps if this had been policy at the time.
Twenty-three percent of both male and female Marines “said that they would not have joined” ...

When President Barack Obama took office last year, he promised to “restore the standards of due process and the core constitutional values that have made this country great.” Toward that end, the president issued an executive order declaring that the extra-constitutional prison camp at Guantánamo “shall be closed as soon as practicable, and no later than one year from the date of this order.” Obama has failed ...

O'Reilly V. RoveMay 22, 2014Basically, O'Reilly is saying this problem existed since Bush and Rove is disagreeing with him. But then, Rove was probably too busy diagnosing Hillary Clinton to really read up on the issue.

O'Reilly V. RoveMay 22, 2014The thread below went way off topic. Our veterans need to be kept in the forefront and treated with dignity. We all know the problems with the VA didn't start overnight. They've been brewing for decades. The issue at hand now is how will the problems be fixed and when?
One of things I heard that made the most sense to me was to let the vets seek fee-for-service medical care NOW. The VA has a backlog. Okay, fix that, but in the meantime, let the vets seek care elsewhere and have those ...

OBAMA-O'REILLY INTERVIEWFeb 02, 2014After watching that interview, I can only say Bill O'Reilly and FOX must be feeling pretty darn good right about now. To think that they hold such sway over America and her people. That's quite the accomplishment!
At the same time, it's an elitist insult to Americans. To think that we can't make up our own minds and need FOX news to do it for us. That disgusts me.
