Brit Hume blasted Obama on O'Reilly's show.

Posted: Jun 16, 2014

If you're not interested in hearing anything related to Fox News, please move on... I watched Bill O'Reilly tonight. At 40 minutes past the hour, Brit Hume blasted Obama like I've never heard. I think a replay may occur at 11 p.m. EST, but not sure. Hume called Obama "unimaginably incompetent" and it escalated from there on a 3-pronged front. I am so flabbergasted. Wow!!! ;

Way to go, Brit! - sm

It still won't get through to the obama-lovers. They'll stick like glue to him all the way down the slippery slope.

Okay, you called that right.... - sm

There's nothing on the cable news low information channels that will move the needle one way or the other for lots of people lately. I think lots of us learned long ago not to trust certain sources whether they said something negative or positive about anybody.

After their complete "the polls are skewed, Romney will win in a landslide" debacle and election night meltdown total embarrassment, I opted to look for some real news and not just a network feeding me raw red meat to make me feel all tingly.

I watched the first ten minutes of O'Reilly tonight - and all he did

[ In Reply To ..]
during that 10 minutes was criticize MSNBC and shrug off all the lies the Bush Administration told to wage war on Iraq. He also said we should have left 10,000 troops on the ground, "but we didn't for some reason," when the fact is that was not an option according to U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement (easily searchable).

I clicked over to CNN and MSNBC a couple times during that ten minutes and they were reporting on what was going on in Iraq.

I'm sorry but I won't move on because it needs to be reiterated that either Bill O'Reilly is purposely misleading his listeners, or he is not educated on events that are pertinent to responsible broadcasting. And explains many of the conservative posts here that I realize now are repeating untruths from conservative sources.

Therefore, anyone who "escalated a 3-pronged front," especially Hume, on Obama really is exponentially meaningless when it it broadcast on an obviously irresponsible media source.

This is your opinion, of course. - I missed the first 10 minutes.

[ In Reply To ..]
BTW, I would guess that most Fox news viewers get their news and information from more than just Fox. For me personally, that includes all TV media, including PBS and BBC, and on-line news outlets, some left, some right, some middle of the road. It really isn't necessary to respond to you, but I feel you and others may not know what I just posted.

Point taken, but it was not my opinion. I gave an account of what he said - and

[ In Reply To ..]
what he said was not the truth and again, easily searchable. Unfortunately, unlike you, many conservatives do get their information solely from conservative sources and these sources do count on their conservative listeners and viewers to not look elsewhere for confirmation or the truth.

Thank you for responding :)

Are you saying that every news contributor on Fox is repeating untruths? - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm very interested in your response to this question?

No. As I said clearly in my post I listened to the first 10 minutes - however

[ In Reply To ..]
This is not the first time I have heard outright lies from the conservative media.

Are you saying what Bill said is true? Do you endorse his statements? I am very interested in your response too.
No, I missed the first 10 minutes. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
However, the "opinion" part of any pundit's broadcast is just that, opinion. I sometimes agree with him. Other times, I don't. I listen mainly to the reporting and then follow that up elsewhere to get another viewpoint. Believe it or not, even though I'm conservative, MSNBC used to be my go-to channel for breaking news. When they turned into radically nasty, offensive, left wing nut jobs, I stopped watching.
The first 10 minutes are his talking points. His OPINIONS. - Understand?

Well it IS Fox News, after all........ - Jess Sayen

[ In Reply To ..]

Ok, I just watched the first 10 minutes... - OP

[ In Reply To ..]
I stayed up past my bedtime to watch the first 10 minutes. I did not hear any criticism of MSNBC. I disagree with your comment regarding "the Bush lies." I agree with his commentary on that subject matter. That appears to be a partisan opinion. Anyway, I did agree with some of what he said, but disagreed with other things. I did not take offense to any of it. I did not see any other part of the show other than what I saw earlier with Brit Hume.

Total rubbish! - mirth

[ In Reply To ..]
The Status of Forces Agreement could have been renegotiated. A Roosevelt, Truman, Reagan or Clinton, and even Bush, would have seen to it. Pulling out ground forces before Iraq could establish a stable democracy has negated all of the progress the US achieved under Gen. Petraeus. O'Reilly is misleading or not not up on events? Nonsense! The man is extremely savvy on current events and calls it as he sees it.

This poster conveniently left out the fact that.... - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
It was Bush who negotiated this Status of Forces Agreement to begin with in 2008. If Bush was so great, why didn't he manage to negotiate a better agreement? Oh, that's right, far from being great, he was a blathering idiot. (see link)

So Bush and company lied us into a war, totally screwed it up, and now the right wing echo chamber is all outraged and whiny!

Will we ever again have a president as ignorant as Bush? I can't see how!

What Hume said was profound. - I saw him, too.

[ In Reply To ..]
You may not agree with him and you may have to bring old news into this thread to make yourself feel better or justify something, but IMHO it is worth listening to what Hume's opinion was. Remember, he was an ABC Washington news correspondent for years. He's a reputable man and deserves a listen IMO.

An OPINION is worth what you paid for it - nothing, zero, zilch

[ In Reply To ..]
These newscasters on FOX are preaching to the choir and get paid to fire up the Obama-haters. That is the FOX game plan. No one else watches FOX but conservatives. Conservatives do not like Obama.

So go ahead and watch O'Reilly and Hume and FOX in general to get your anti-Obama blood boiling if that is what you like to do in your spare time.

Thank you... - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
...for prefacing your rant by telling us your opinion matters not. LOL!
Neither does yours. That's the beauty part. - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
xx
Your opinion means nothing as to what is a "rant" - versus FACTS.
[ In Reply To ..]
Fact is FOX caters to Obama-haters and adjusts it's OPINIONS/programming to keep the anti-Obama crowd satisfied trying to justify their contempt for the man.

To me it is an extremely strange way to spend your time watching FOX News and taking a person's OPINION as fact.
To both of the above posters… - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
I am just completely amazed at how afraid you all are of Fox News.
Afraid of FOX News? LOL. It is a bore - rehashing the same political agenda
[ In Reply To ..]
I really pay little attention to any political news. Lying politicians are all corrupt. Watching a political commentator or politician is as uninteresting as watching a used car dealer commercial.

Political commentary is a wrestling match. It is fixed and fake. I don't care for either.

But it is kind of delusional to think someone is "afraid" of FOX News.
You certainly come off as very afraid or threatened by Fox news. - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
If not, why bother to give your commentary? No one cares about your opinion of Fox news except for your fellow liberals, who also appear threatened by Fox news. At any rate, it's comical. You have a nice day. :-)
That someone is threatened or afraid of Fox News - sounds like paranoid thinking
[ In Reply To ..]
I do not enjoy political commentary on either side, Republican or Democrat.

Fox is boring. So are other news shows that spin politics.

It certainly is delusional to believe that a person who is bored with political commentary may fear or be threatened by it. All commentators and politicians are talking heads to me and can add nothing to enrich my life.

What amazes me is that people get caught up in the political games and take a commentator's opinion as gospel truth to justify their preformed opinion of a politician.
It could be classic deflection. - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
You know, deflect from the subject matter so that maybe other people won't pay attention. They seem to think it works even though we know differently.
DEFLECTION of what? Is deflection claim - on your part a deflection itself?
[ In Reply To ..]
Seriously some people have a life outside of politics.

I really do not put any faith in a politician nor do I spend my time listening to people who spin politics.

I would suggest those who follow politics and worship political commentators who take their side like a religion are wasting their time.

I did not care for GWB or Bill Clinton but I do not dwell on it nor look for justification for my dislike. The last thing I want to do in my life is rehash politics.

I am amazed at those who trust commentators or politicians. They are in it for the $MONEY$ you know. The question I have is why are you in it so deeply that you develop contempt for those who disagree with your politics.
Yet you spend time here... - ...duh...
[ In Reply To ..]
LOL
I am killing time while waiting for work on my account - and looking at posts
[ In Reply To ..]
Simple as that. People who follow politics like it is a religion fascinate me. Scary, but fascinating.

Watching people caught up in politics and hating/blaming the other party for all things wrong with the world is like watching religious nuts who are quite sure their God is the true God and no one else seems to get it so they need to destroy the other religious nuts by any means possible. Somewhere in between are sane people who live and let live, politically and religiously.

Maybe they're baiting like trolls. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Who knows what goes on in the brain of the left wing liberal? I personally don't care to know, but they are entitled to spew their magic fairy dust on this board.
Left wing liberal? Clearly the person is apolitical - or do you suspect it is a LIE?
[ In Reply To ..]
Good heavens conservatives are certainly paranoid when it comes to politics.
This doesn't sound like an apolitical person to me. - Just sayin'
[ In Reply To ..]
This is taken from the above so-called apolitical person...

"Fact is FOX caters to Obama-haters and adjusts it's OPINIONS/programming to keep the anti-Obama crowd satisfied trying to justify their contempt for the man."

You can continue on. I'm done here.
Everyone knows Fox News is conservative and - everyone knows conservatives hate Obama.
[ In Reply To ..]
That is not breaking news. Conservatives on this board frequently quote Fox news source for their anti-Obama agenda as evident in this thread and follow up thread posted after this thread to ensure everyone knows what Fox news commentator said negative about Obama.
Awww, there, there. Not EVERYONE hates Obama. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
That is a sweeping generalization and absolutely NOT true. But again, we're talking opinions here. That is your opinion, but it is wrong. I can personally attest to that. I am conservative and came very, very close to voting for him the first time. Also, I don't "hate" him. Hate is an extremely strong word thrown around this board very loosely. I do not like his policies, but it has nothing to do with him personally. Again, however, I almost voted for him the first time. In retrospect, I thank God I don't have to deal with the guilt of knowing I voted for him in light of how things are turning out for America.
So when did things go bad for America - my job went to India when Bush was in office.
[ In Reply To ..]
This caused a severe cut in pay and I lost my home pre Obama presidency because of policy in place to allow American medical records and jobs be shipped to India. Friends and family also lost their jobs to Philippine workers. Due to people losing their income, local businesses went out of business. Not sure I can hold Bush responsible for the financial fiasco though.

This financial disaster was all pre Obama so I just wondered how Obama gets the blame for his policies and how do Obama policies differ from Bush policies or any other president for that matter?
Sorry, not taking the bait - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
What Obama has done to this country has been said many, many times on this board already. To go into it here on this thread would be deflecting from the subject matter of the original post. Open a new thread. Ask your question there.
No bait involved but sounds like you have some paranoia and fear - plus a lack of logical answer.
[ In Reply To ..]
What has Obama done to this country that is worse than what previous presidents have done?

The economy collapsed way before Obama took office. Do you dispute this?

Under which presidency were American jobs and medical records okayed to be shipped offshore?

These are legitimate questions not bait. Can you answer them?
Open a new thread. No paranoia here. - Just following the rules of the board.
[ In Reply To ..]
Get a grip will you please.
I am following up on your claims. Back them up - or you lose credibility.
[ In Reply To ..]
Your claims are a part of this particular thread.
You lost your credibility with your name-calling and insinuation. - SM

My job with MQ was shipped to India during Bush presidency - the groundwork was laid prior to Obama
[ In Reply To ..]
The point I am trying to make is the groundwork was in place prior to Obama taking office. Obama did not suddenly come out after he was elected and say it's okay for American medical records to be shipped to India or Philippine call centers can take over tech support and displace American jobs by shipping them offshore.

Or do you believe Obama made this decision to allow American companies to offshore American jobs?
It doesn't matter who it started with. It matters - that it is continuing
[ In Reply To ..]
nm!!!
Yes, and I guess the Republicans who hold the majority in the House.... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
are content with it because they've refused to consider legislation that would give tax incentives to companies that bring jobs back to this country from overseas. This cannot be blamed on the POTUS. The Republicans have blocked all of the democrats proposed legislation to do anything about it, which Obama supported and encouraged. Then the GOP points the finger and says, "see, he's done nothing about it."

All part of their scheme to make Obama a 1-term president. Oh, wait! The majority of voters weren't stupid enough to believe everything was Obama's fault, and Congress has a 16% approval rating.
Yeah, and just think what'll happen if a Pub gets - back in office. No jobs in America at ALL.
[ In Reply To ..]
You believe Obama has the power to undo the laws - that were made prior to his taking office?
[ In Reply To ..]

Your idea of a fact is only your opinion - and is wrong
[ In Reply To ..]
Fox is for anyone who wants to know what is going on in the world political and news wise.

They don't cater to "Obama-haters" or Obama lovers. They just post the news, gives some facts on news stories, then you have commentary shows which are opinion shows, which are also on other news stations..

This bull-stink namecalling of "Obama haters" is getting to be quite, oh let's see, what do the liberals post here? Oh yeah...."yawwwwwwwwnnn". You put everyone to sleep when you keep up the liberal buzzwords. It's a trial of a form of intimidation and bully tactics. Luckily most of us are on to it. Calling people "Obama haters" is not intimating as the ones calling people haters think it is, and it certainly is not going to stop any conversation people want to have. In fact, calling people "haters" in itself is a form of hate and makes you the hater. I was reading an article on this and when people call others "haters" it only makes themselves look worse.
I regret to inform those living in the bubble, but - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Fox News is a right-wing propaganda machine. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves; the remainder majority of the American public is not quite as easily deluded. If you constantly post hateful and racist rants by people like Dr. Jack Wheeler and talk incessantly about the conspiracy theory of the day, why in the world would it surprise you that you just might be considered an Obama hater?

Fox propagates endless propaganda against the POTUS and his administration. Almost overnight, Fox went from loving and defending their government and its so-called best world economy to hating their government and deriding it the day Obama took the oath of office.

If people recognize Fox and it's followers for its hate, how does that make the rest of us all bullies? If O'Reilly himself asks Obama on national television about the people who "hate" him (see link), then why in the world would it surprise anyone at this point that people think Obama has haters?
I don't think you have any regret at all - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
in professing your OPINION and your sweeping generalizations. In fact, I think you take great pleasure in parroting back the buzzwords du jour of the left wing propaganda machine.
Well, no, I don't take great pleasure. It's actually rather a chore. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
"I regret to inform you" is something people sometimes say when they are giving an opinion about something that it seems like most everyone else already knows. Maybe it would actually be more accurate to say that "I regret to HAVE to inform you again." Maybe. But I do know that I am the one writing my opinion of the subject of Fox News and not someone else. It never ceases to amaze me the posters that pick apart other posters words and try to find some meaning in them above and beyond, like a simple opinion post is maybe a science fair project on psychology.

That being said, allow me to inform you that a "sweeping generalization" would have been giving my opinion on all the networks. Insofar as my opinion was limited to Fox News, it does not remotely qualify as a "sweeping generalization."

And lastly, I don't watch the "left wing propaganda machine" either, so I really wouldn't know what the "buzzwords du jour" of those "news" channels happen to be since I get my news from the Internet from reliable sources. I avoid ALL those media types because I actually agree with you that there are propaganda machines out there, but what I cannot fathom is how you actually have no trouble recognizing the left wing vehicles of propaganda but then absolutely refuse to admit that the right wing has one of their own, which you patently refuse to acknowledge exists.

But recognizing the left wing propaganda machine is a good first step to finally coming to the realization that, yes, in fact, there is a right wing opposite of that thing you actually do recognize, and it goes by the name of "Fox News."

I am too. He always tries so hard to give Obama the benefit of the doubt. - Abby (sm)

After watching that interview, I can only say Bill O'Reilly and FOX must be feeling pretty darn good right about now. To think that they hold such sway over America and her people.
