Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is supporting military action in Syria and criticizing conservatives “willing to give [Syrian President Bashar] Assad a pass” over distrust for President Barack Obama.
...
O’Reilly said Obama was “correct” to go to Congress for authorization, and politics shouldn’t prevent conservatives from doing what’s right.
Personally, I think Assad should be arrested in the international war criminal court. Why do we never take this route? Why do we always skip this step and go straight to bombings? I hated it when we did it in Iraq, and I hate it now. The court system is there for a reason, but for some reason, we bomb people before we take them to court. Does anyone know why? I don't.
But this O'Reilly thing is pretty amusing. I strongly dislike the guy, but I'm sure he's right that a lot of conservatives are against this just because it's Obama. I wonder what the tone would be if it was a republican president making this decision. It really is funny to watch some conservatives get upset when the president seeks out congressional support for a decision as huge and important as this one.
