refers to Republican women candidates as "pink elephants."

Now I know that sounds clever, but I remember that as a reference to alcoholic hallucinations.

Certainly, pink elephant stands for alcoholic hallucinations, but it also stands for women (pink) in the republican (elephant) party.

As usual, MSM will have a big run with this, infuriating everyone, again, by those remarks. Why, almost 2 years later, they still have this obsession with her and attack her almost daily is beyond belief. Usually a former candidate fades into the background as old news even though they are still out there doing speaking engagements.

That is what I don't get. - Trigger Happy

Palin will never get the republican nomination for presidential candidate for 2012....so who really cares what she says? If she wants to run, she will have to do so as an independent and she doesn't stand a snow balls chance in he!! in winning. So why do people even bother wasting time talking and/or bashing her?

I know what you mean. But, she does have a large following - Backwards Typist

and because of that, MSM is afraid she'll run and take away a lot of votes.
The thing is though.... - Trigger Happy

She won't take votes away from the democratic nominee. If she takes votes away from anyone it will be the republican nominee and so it should be the pubs who should really hate her and not crats. So really the crats should be happy if Palin runs as an independent as it would work in their favor.

As much as I like Palin, I really do not think she should run. I think we would have a better chance of taking back the WH if we had someone run other than her and her not run at all. We can't take a chance of splitting our votes between Palin and a pub nominee because the crat will win.

I personally feel that we need a business owner in the WH. Someone who knows how it is to actually run something where they have to pay employees, etc. They would know what to do to benefit businesses and create jobs. These lawyers that are running Washington are killing us.
I agree with you. - Backwards Typist

She said she has no intention of running and I hope she means it. She knows what running will do to the pubs. I certainly don't think she'd want to destroy that party, but ya never know.

We do need someone with a business background, but we also need someone who is experienced in government and the legal process. I don't think there's one person out there that would fit the bill.

We'll just have to wait and see who's going to run then make sure we do as much research as we can on EVERY candidate.

The problem is that there aren't any clear leaders from either party right now. I mean, campaigning starts next year for the 2010 election and while I'm sure Obama will run for re-election (although I've heard doubtful rumors that he'll be replaced by Hillary), I don't really see anyone in the republican camp that I'd gladly throw my support behind.

I'm afraid it's gonna be ugly =(
Downside to a business owner, though - sm

I am one of those who voted for Obama in the primaries as an Anybody but Hillary and then in the general election as a Not McCain/Palin. I, like someone else early mentioned, would have voted for a Romney ticket, as long as it was Palin-free.

However, as much as we would like to blame it all on Obama, if the business owners that you would like to see in office are so good, why are they not creating jobs now? From what I've seen so far, business owners don't really care about the people under them; the mantra seems to be how much can we offshore, can I get an illegal to do it, and what benefits can my employees do without.

While I don't really need a mommy taking care of me, I would like to have a president that at least gives more a darn about his constituents than he does big business.

I not a Palin supporter policy-wise, (she's too polarizing for my taste), so I really don't want to watch it.  I do, however, admire her courage.  Besides, I don't have HBO - LOL. I'm just wondering what the point of this film is.  A hit piece done by some bitter folks who are looking to cash in?  Like that creepy dude (Joe McGinnis, I think) who rented a house next to the Palin's to write an "unofficial biography" that sold a meager 6000 copies ...
