HBO/Palin

Posted: Mar 13, 2012

I not a Palin supporter policy-wise, (she's too polarizing for my taste), so I really don't want to watch it.  I do, however, admire her courage.  Besides, I don't have HBO - LOL.

I'm just wondering what the point of this film is.  A hit piece done by some bitter folks who are looking to cash in?  Like that creepy dude (Joe McGinnis, I think) who rented a house next to the Palin's to write an "unofficial biography" that sold a meager 6000 copies the first week that was just filled with gossip and blather from anonymous sources?  How weird and pathetic was that?!

Remember the 24,000 pages of emails released last year that the haters were determined would find something - anything - to take her down?

My point is that the people who hate her will continue their attempts to destroy her and her family.  After 4 years, they have gone after her and her children relentlessly.  Like her or not, she has withstood so much more than the average person could take, including most of the old men in Congress.  If it were me, I'd probably go home every night and weep like a baby in my pillow (or start drinking something stronger than wine).  We should all hope that we can raise our daughters with as much toughness and strength.

Chelsea and Hillary--Coming out on the end with some dignity through worse attacks. Intelligence and strength. I am thinking Chelsea for President in about 2028.

Yes, she is an act alright - without class

Chelsea would never be a good president. Just because your a child of a politician does not mean you are experienced and know politics. Thinking about Chelsea talking to foreign leaders and issues here in our country? I've heard her speak. The lights are on but nobody is home.

I voted Obama to keep another Clinton out of the ofc. I certainly would never vote for their child. The thought of her for president made the hair on my neck stand up.

She'll learn from her mom and stay as far away from politics as she can. Just look what the media and people in general do to a woman in politics - I don't know much about Chelsea, but I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

I think the Republicans were behind the film - sm

Look at their main sources of information. The Republicans were probably afraid someone bring her out again for the president/vice-president candidate and they had to put a stop to it. Look how they controlled John Mccain and now the Romney,Santorum and Gingrich. Yup, there is someone pulling the strings.

She stepped willingly into the spotlight. Dont pity the harsh treatment she received because she is a "little gal." She has yet to be accused of murder or being a terrorist plant as democratic men have. She willingly put her children in the spotlight to enhance her image. she has become wealthy beyond her dreams and has no burden of responsibility anymore except finding ways to capitalize on her notoriety for big bucks. Maybe divert that pity to single moms or someone who really has it rough in this country.

my Palin view - goldie

[ In Reply To ..]

Please don't patronize me by telling me where to divert my pity.  I never expressed any pity for Palin and I never called her a "little gal."

Of course, she chose public life over a private life.  She did not, however, choose to be continually the target of a vile smear campaign to destroy her.  I don't think ANY person should have to put up with those kinds of shameless attacks, especially on her children.  How did she put the spotlight on her infant son to enhance her image?  Was she supposed to leave him at home during the campaign?  She would have been criticized for that too, I'm sure.  If anyone doesn't believe it hasn't been a coordinated attack by the media, check out some of these old Journolist emails (http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/26/raw-journolist-emails-on-palins-downs-child/).  It's sickening and disturbing.

I'm wondering, though what democratic men have been accused or murder or being a terrorist?  According to Joe Biden and other House Democrats, the Tea Party people are the terrorists (and with no apology afterwards).

My only point, and it's very telling how many liberal women won't agree, that NO ONE deserves the ugly personal smears - male/female, democrat/republican.

Yea, and that goes for Obama also. - sm

I have to say that there is no political figure/person that I can think of in my 58 plus years that has ever been smeared incessantly and shown the disrespect that President Obama has been shown and for absolutely no good reason, not even Sarah Palin.

yeah...we all you know, you love Oblablah. Not sure what country you now live in, but clearly not USA. Palin's ENTIRE family has been insulted, rudely treated; and Oblablah went balistic because someone said his ears were big. Obama gets a pass from the press all the time. Try actually reading the stats that are kept by each publication regarding the types of stories they do on Oblablah, positive and negatives, and compare it to others. Naaaa...don't think you will invest the time in truth seeking. Guess there are too many candles to light at the altar of Obama.

OK, it finally makes sense now.  All you have to do is put the pieces of the puzzle together and you find that HBO's "Game Change" premier was hosted by none other than...SKDKnickerbocker.  Sound familar?  It's the PR firm with Anita Dunn (former White House Communications Director) as a managing director.  Go figure.

It was an ACCURATE account of what she did during the campaign. This movie showed that she was dumber than I ever thought. She thought the "ruler" of England was the Queen. She didn't know there were "two" Koreas. SHE'S AS DUMB AS A BOX OF ROCKS, and yet she was DANGEROUSLY close to being POTUS!!!

I'm defending her as a woman, not a politician. Just because I feel the vile attacks on her and her children were over the line, don't assume I'm a Palin policy supporter. This has nothing to do with policy and everything to do with civility and the treatment of female politicians.

And do you really want to go back on the tit-for-tat of the politician's gaffes again with the "Africa was a county" slap? BTDT

The treatment of female politicans on both sides of the aisle, including Hilary Clinton and Sarah Palin, is disgusting. I just don't understand why women aren't more outraged by it all.

[ In Reply To ..]
The Planned Parenthood controversy stems from a recent interview with a Missouri television station in which Romney addressed his plans to cut the federal deficit. He said..."Is the program so critical that it is worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?" Romney asked. "And on that basis, of course you get rid of ObamaCare, that’s the easy one. But there are others: Planned Parenthood, we’re going to get rid of that. The subsidy for Amtrak, I would eliminate that. The National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, both excellent programs, but we can’t afford to borrow money to pay for these things." Later, his spokesperson said he did not mean to get rid of Planned Parenthood entirely, it would simply not be funded any longer by the federal government.

Unfortunately, the loss will be huge for uninsured women and children in this country but he doesn't have to worry about that, does he.
