of the posts below that have little to nothing to do with real political discussion to remain yet remove Mary's thoughtful and very relevant post and send it to the Gab board. What's up with that? Maybe you should give the republicans their own board so the MTs here can have a sane discussion.

Wish the moderator would give you, your own board; that way, we would not have to listen to your endless whining and complaining. Yeah - "what's up with that?"

If there were separate boards, the Liberals and Democrats could tear each other to shreds with their hate speech and insults; and the Republicans and conservatives could have a "sane discussion."

BTW - I'm Independent and I am sick to death of the endless griping by the left on this board. Grow up already!

Which means that anything NOT POLITICAL belongs on another board. Don't you read the rules?

I read her post and even though it was thoughtful, frankly, I couldn't find a single sentence that had anything to do with politics.

I think the moderator was correct to move the post. I'm sure it would have gotten more discussion on the correct board since a lot of MTs don't come to this board, so it would have been wasted here.

On MT lives? When I read Mary's post, it reveals the longing of a real MT, with MT experiences and concerns who is hoping to have a discussion about political policies that affect OUR lives. Being a work-at-home MT, where are we to get a group who has ideas regarding how cutting Social Security, needing good health care, economics of off-shoring affect our lives?

Perhaps there are some who think "politics" is about providing misinformation, shouting/flaming, and calling the President names, but there are many others who want to discuss political "policies."

I have followed this Board long enough to know that it was first the conservatives who wanted their own board. At that time, I thought it would be a mistake because I thought that even conservatives would get pretty bored listening to themselves reciting talking points. Now, I am in agreement that the conservatives should be given their own board where they can talk freely about King Hussein, o-bummer, or whatever the favorite name-call of the week is.

The rest of us could then discuss the need for health care, social security, MC, education, net neutrality, infrastructure, protection from corporate abuses, whether or not we should put our soldiers in harm's way, or what are the solutions to global warming. We could then discuss these policies without having some snark interrupt the conversation and have it dissolve the conversation into nonsense.

In fact, with Obamacare, it will only get worse. You do realize that many MT's would not rock the boat where their job is concerned, don't you, thinking that as long as they stay quiet, they won't lose their jobs? The newbies are happy to work for the wages they are getting now, not realizing that it will never get any better and not realizing that they are part of the problem. Heck, a few years back, I even saw some newbies willing to work of FREE just to get experience. How dumb was that?

This discussion has gone on since I became a member of MTS (over 10 years) and I've watched and became a victim of those jobs and wages, no matter how much I screamed, yelled, petitioned, and sent letters to not only our representatives, but local newspapers (which letters never were published for some reason).

As a matter of fact, when Obamacare was passed, I was finally able to get regain health insurance coverage, whereas prior to that time, I was not able to be covered due to my preexisting lupus. And, we were able to continue to cover our daughter when she graduated from college (and would have been able to continue to do so until she was age 26, but the point was moot, as she got a good job and covered herself). Lastly, I work for a group of doctors. We have had multiple, multiple patients who have told me (both on the phone and in person) that they are glad they could finally get a health insurance policy (due to Obamacare, mind you) so that they could come in and be tested and treated. Obamacare may not work for many, many people, but I have seen firsthand where it has worked for me, my family, and people I meet face to face.

I am in the middle of a huge project that has a deadline.

I'm getting rid of the insults and as soon as I get rid of them more come along. And it's on both sides.

The reason Mary's message was moved to the gab board was because it was not political. You can read it on that board as well as on this board. It doesn't matter how thoughtful posts are, if they have nothing to do with politics they are moved to the appropriate board.

I'm not going to give anyone a separate board. I know people keep saying that because they don't want to see a differing opinion, but posters need to learn that others have different viewpoints. There are always going to be opposing positions on issues. Always going to be people who dislike one side or the other, but as Americans people need to learn to be tolerant that there are other viewpoints. If people cannot handle other viewpoints this is not the place to come.

Accusing one side of being sane means you are accusing the other side of not. I've seen many posts come through here and nobody should be accusing the other side of that.

I am going through this board on my breaks. I will remove insulting posts. In the meantime if you don't like what someone says don't read their post or if a poster insults you report that post.

I feel that my post had everything to do with the politics of this board. The nastiness on this board is a direct reflection of the nastiness in politics offline as exemplified by the media. We can't seem to have a civil discussion about political issues and current events without name-calling and hateful insults. I think a lot of that might be due to the examples our own politicans are exhibiting. Gone are the days of at least trying to show respect for each other, and we copy them in that behavior. (Now, if you remove this post of mine, I will know that I am being targeted. I do appreciate your work, but feel we should be able to express our opinions without fear of censor, especially when that expression is done in a civil, courteous manner.)

Why on top of the post about Romney's religion, sending it to the faith board? He is of a faith that has for years promoted prejudice nad all kinds of crazy stuff. Romney says his religion shaped him and made him what he is today. I think that makes his faith VERY relevant to the politics board. Where have all of the posts at the bottom of the board gone? It seems as if once they hit the bottom of the page, they drop into some big black hole somewhere, never to be seen again. LOL! As there ar every few nays to this suggestion, I'm hoping for a vote to make this a new category. Everyone, not just MTs, are feeling the pinch nowadays. It would be wonderful and I believe very, very helpful to compare ideas and suggest sites that help with pinching pennies!! Even saving $50 a month in cost savings is a big deal today.
