How do you go about getting in contact with the moderator? After the thread below about saving money on every day things, I thought this would be a GREAR positive post/category. I know I've read several books, one that comes to mind is the Tightwad Gazette. Lots of suggestions how to use it up and wear it out. I've become a coupon queen, not the kind that buys stuff I don't need just to create some huge stockpile, just the stuff I know use and or can use. I got my daughter's special shampoo (she has curly thick hair, but likes it straighter) for 7 cents each, conditioner and shampoo. I felt like I hit the lottery. If I can cut costs on basically household products that would sure make a dent in my expenses. I'd love tips from others on this board on how they stretch a buck. Any ideas on how to pitch this idea to the moderator? I'm sure many of us would love some money saving tips!!

[ In Reply To ..]I think this is a great idea. So for the first question, how did you get shampoo and conditioner for 7 cents each. We don't have double coupons in our area so I can't figure out how to get the most out of coupons.

I had a Suave Moroccan coupon from the paper and clipped the one from Target (you can only use the Target ones at Target) and they were on sale. I got shampoo and conditioner for 7 cents each. I have enough toothpaste for a lifetime! $1 to $1.50 off coupons are in your paper ALL the time. Most tubes are free with the coupons, and I'm taking the whitening stuff. I got Almay eye products with a Target sale, and newspaper coupon. I paid $4.00 for the first one and 5 free. I got Ivory soap for $.10 a bar! Try a website Couponmom.com. She also has a link to a coupon database to update the ones from the newspaper. I also buy my newspapers at the Dollar Store, regularly $2,00 a paper but the Dollar Store sells them for a buck!! Couponmom.com organizes what the best prices are each week at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General etc., so I plan my coupons for the BEST deals only! Maybe if enough of us petition the moderator, we can get her to add a frugal living category!! :) Don't forget to check clearance items with the coupons you have, you never know!!

[ In Reply To ..]Check on Bradsdeals.com. They check for the best prices around for things, not necessarily groceries. Also Hip2Save, lists all kids of deals, grocery, Amazon, just all kinds of thing. Happy saving!!

Why on top of the post about Romney's religion, sending it to the faith board? He is of a faith that has for years promoted prejudice nad all kinds of crazy stuff. Romney says his religion shaped him and made him what he is today. I think that makes his faith VERY relevant to the politics board. As there ar every few nays to this suggestion, I'm hoping for a vote to make this a new category. Everyone, not just MTs, are feeling the pinch nowadays. It would be wonderful and I believe very, very helpful to compare ideas and suggest sites that help with pinching pennies!! Even saving $50 a month in cost savings is a big deal today.
