Missed Republican debate - anybody watch it?

Who won? Lots of different theories on political talk shows.

Well, personally - nnnn

I think Trump did very well, and Christie, Carson. I always kinda like Kasich, but he's not out front. Bush always seems like a 2-year-old to me, and same again last night; he also needs a wardrobe coach. Poor Rubio took a beating for never having to make tough decisions, and he sure was sweating all night (forehead). Again, I think best were Trump, Christie, Carson in that order. Just me.
Trump is still a bully and a liar and Christie is getting desperate - Truthhurts

That's why the hits on Rubio. i guess Christie has forgotten all the duplicate statements he's made over the months. He's scripted, too. Trump knows NOTHING about government, how it works, foreign policy, etc. He'd make a lousy president.
Jeb was feisty and too bad he wasn't like that all along. Trump was disgusting when he made that comment about Jeb's mom.
Kasich is the only one who has not stooped to Trump's level of ignorance. He's the only one running a clean, positive campaign. I'm hoping NH sees Kasich as someone who would be good for the country. He does have foreign policy experience.
That debate was a farce. ABC tried to make idiots out of all of them, especially Ben, but then look who was moderating (Georgie-boy who is a Clinton lover from way back)
Their introduction of the candidates was too fast and didn't even give anyone a chance to get to their assigned podiums before calling the next one and being drowned out by the audience clapping and yelling. When they saw that Carson didn't come out, they should have called his name again. When the others saw he was standing there, why didn't they tell him his name was called? That was ignorance.
Okay, done for now.
Trump stood by Carson - He is not a bully

And for Christie to point out the robotic scripted response from Rubio was something voters needed to be aware of.
I do not want a career ESTABLISHMENT politician who is FUNDED by special interests and owes them for the funding they receive. And really every president has on-the-job training and no one comes in knowing everything about everything they are going to face being president. I will take a self-funded candidate over a bought and paid for candidate all day long and it looks like many other voters feel the same way and that is why Trump and Sanders (who does not take HUGE amounts of money from special interests) are leading in the polls.
The political system is corrupt. Why vote for someone who is funded by big business and their votes have been bought.
Surprise for me was Kasich. - RB
[ In Reply To ..]
To me, he never really stood out until last night.
Also, I think it was wrong to not include Fiorina. That speaks volumes about lame steam media.
He probably didn't win but I LOVE Ben Carson - Shyly charming, funny and sweet
[ In Reply To ..]
Rubio took a beating by Christie, deservedly so.
Cruz was lying through his teeth to Carson regarding his dirty trick telling Carson's supporters Ben Carson has left the campaign and then blamed it on a CNN misleading report, but I saw on CNN they NEVER reported Ben Carson left the campaign. Cruz lost any credibility forever for me. He is a sleaze.
Trump did okay. Not so blustery and smart enough to allow the other candidates to destroy each other.
I agree - anonie

I like Carson. I'd much rather trust a man who speaks truth and doesn't play games. None of the media report on him, any channels, or his campaign.
I think in addition to what Cruz did, the fact that he could not hear them announce him to come out to the podium is another dirty trick. They also did it to two others.
If you ask me, WE THE PEOPLE, are not going to get again to pick our president.
Did you notice Trump stood by Carson - The others passed him to get to their podium
[ In Reply To ..]
That showed a lot of class on Trump's part and that he knows Carson is a good guy.
They couldn't hear their names being called....that's why - Trump was waiting with Carson
[ In Reply To ..]
It was a joke all over the radio today - some heard their name being called and others didn't -
Everyone but Carson heard his name. - Trump explained on an interview
[ In Reply To ..]
What was the joke?
Trump said he waited with Carson even though he heard his name called and then finally he had to take his place at the podium. Trump said the crowd was very noisy at times and that is why Dr Carson missed hearing his name.
I thought Trump won it hands down. - sm

Marco Rubio rightfully took a beating by both Christie and Bush. I will not vote for him, he ruined it for me with his Gang of 8 flip flop on illegal immigration and his no-show on votes in the Senate. Ted Cruz might as well kiss his A good-bye after what he did to Carson. I thought Kasich and Christie did extremely well and would vote for either of them. I love Dr. Carson, he's always been my favorite, I just think he is so polite and nice, that he is being overshadowed and drowned out by all the others. I don't see his campaign lasting much longer. I don't know why Bush is still in it, IMO he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning.
For me it was Kasich, Christie, Trump... - anon

Although I did enjoy watching Bush. My husband actually thought our dog sat on the remote during Rubio's answers because he repeated himself constantly, verbatim. I think I would have screamed if I heard him say, "here's why" one more time!
I noticed Rubio repeating long before Christie - anonie

I would be embarrassed to have either of these shouting (are they deaf) geezers to represent me.
Yep, that's why I'm voting Demo this year, even - tho Im registered as "no party".

You are voting for a shady lady using gender to get votes - or a socialist making promises he cannot keep
[ In Reply To ..]
Neither can win. Seriously Grandpa and Grandma are delusional.
Funny beats SCARY Bernie/Hillary! - Former Democrat
[ In Reply To ..]
The funniest thing I see daily are remarks like yours, so desperate to elevate a Socialist and a has-been Democrat, the only 2 pathetic, viable candidates of the Democrat party-one of whom isn't even a Democrat! That right there is FUNNY sheeeet! Sometimes I think I am on the MT Comedy Stop and not the POLITICS board! Keep dreaming your dreams, because there is no way in hades a Republican will not be President this year. There are simply too many good candidates to choose from.
Some people scare easy, which is why they - vote Republican.
[ In Reply To ..]

I am only scared of Hillary and her baggage - with FBI investigating her
[ In Reply To ..]
No other candidate scares me except maybe Cruz a bit because of his dirty underhanded trick of telling people Dr. Carson dropped out of the race so he could get Dr. Carson's votes.

Depending On What Station You Watch, The Debate Was Won By Oct 12, 2012Ryan or Biden...so that makes it a DRAW, not a win. Biden spoke for 42 minutes while Ryan spoke for 41.
I must say, Biden only had stumble tongue on a few answers but no gaffes. Biden got very angry with both Ryan AND Martha, wagging his finger at Martha quite a bit when she tried to get him to stop because he was going over his minutes. What was with the smiling, laughing, and smirking? He was also very rude during the debate by interrupting Ryan. You don't do that.

My Take On The Debate. SmOct 14, 2015I was struck last night by the huge difference in what we can infer about the nature of Bernie's and Hillary's thought processes while they were processing the challenging questions that Anderson Cooper threw out at them individually.

Diaper Debate...Sep 17, 2011Okay, so here it is. I have a very good friend who is expecting. She is low income and has MA, WIC, food stamps, etc. She is slowly buying clothes, furniture, etc. a little at a time before baby arrives around May. She knows about Goodwill, rummage sales, resale shops, and all that too. She has other friends as well (who have had children) telling her which diapers are the best. I'm So Tired Of The Tax Debate!May 14, 2010Tax the rich more....tax the poor less, etc. It is my opinion that if you tax the rich more, it won't help that much considering there are so many loopholes in the tax code that I'm sure the rich will find a way to get out of paying more taxes. How To Debate The DonaldAug 03, 2015This article is amusing.
I would hope there is a lot of practice going on for other Republicans on how not to let him get under their skin. They should refuse to answer him directly (which I don't think they are supposed to anyway) and calmly present their perspective, no matter how wild his responses and answers are. If possible, they should ignore him and pretend he has not spoken at all.
I particularly liked this reference--

Debate Impressions? Sep 17, 2015On TV this morning, Trump is complaining about the length of the debate. Commentators are saying he appeared tired and "disappeared" for about 40 minutes. Kind of amusing coming from the "high energy" guy. Do you think if he got the 2:00 am phone call he would say "call me back after 10 and I've had my coffee"?
I think it is sort of insulting that he is complaining about standing for 3 hours. Just think of all the Walmart workers on their feet all day, some wo ...

We Need A New Topic To Discuss And DebateMay 08, 2011On my mind has been the stealth helicoptor that was left behind in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. I think the young heroes on that raid just got a little too anxious on that one.
