illegal immigration on here and I would just like some information from all willing to participate.

What is your problem with illegal immigration..if you have any...

Are you opposed to them being here illegally or do you agree with total amnesty?

Are you opposed to them working here or do you think them working here is beneficial?

Are you opposed to them receiving food stamps, etc at the cost of tax payers or do you think they deserve some help?

Do you live in an area where there are a lot of illegals?

What is your heritage?

I have a problem with them being here because they are breaking the law by being here illegally.

I am against amnesty because I feel that is rewarding those who are breaking the law and it is unfair for them to get citizenship easily while others who try to do it legally still have to wait.

I oppose them receiving any kind of govt assistance.

I do know of some Hispanics who live in this area but whether they are legal or not...I do not know.

Instead of listing where all of my ancestors are from...lets just say I'm Heinz 57 white. ;)

I am of Latino heritage and I can answer your questions ... (sm) - Rissa

As the previous poster stated, illegal is illegal. If we continue to ignore this situation and allow more to come into the country illegally then we should become a lawless country. Forgiving one law is not acceptable. I do believe, in some cases, that it is beneficial for them working here; however, I am opposed to it because many, NOT ALL, have obtained illegal documents in order to obtain drivers licenses, SSNs, etc., again which is illegal and should never be accepted. I am opposed to them receiving food stamps at the cost of the tax payer if they are illegal because again, illegal is illegal and they should not be here in the first place. Our system is already over burdened with American citizens, both those who need and deserve the help and those who definitely do not deserve the help. Yes, I live in an area where there are lots of illegals, I live in a small city just south of Atlanta and the amount of illegals are increasing almost daily. I know this for a fact because, again, I am of Latino heritage, I go out to local clubs with friends and chat with lots of other Latinos about this exact problem.

Just last year my aunt was rear-ended by an illegal who had no license, no insurance. There was over $13,000 worth of damage done to her vehicle, as well as the thousands of dollars in medical care she had to receive. When the accident happened the gentleman who was in this country illegally ran before the police could respond to the call. After speaking with many in law enforcement and the local government I found out that this is happening very frequently, which is something else that is costing American tax payers even more money. I also found out, after speaking with the local sheriff's department that they house a large number of illegals for various offenses but mainly DUI, something else that is costing tax payers. They went on to tell me that when they report the illegals to the federal government that they do not have the resources to come out and pick up 1, 2 or even 50 at a time, so these people are put into the system just as an American citizen would be .... more tax payer money.

So those are some of my reasons. I feel that my family did everything right, came to this country legally and so should everyone else .... in my opinion.

Also, just as a side note, my family and I fly only one flag and that is the flag of the United States of America.

Illegal is illegal. I don't have a problem with people coming to this country legally, working legally, living here legally. I do have a problem with them coming here ILLEGALLY and take jobs away from people that are here LEGALLY.

Are you opposed to them being here illegally or do you agree with total amnesty?

I think if they are here already, they need to take whatever steps everyone else has to, to be in this country legally. If they don't wanna do that, ship their a** back

Are you opposed to them working here or do you think them working here is beneficial?
I am opposed to them working here illegally yes.

Are you opposed to them receiving food stamps, etc at the cost of tax payers or do you think they deserve some help?

They do not deserve government help if they are here illegally. As an aside, I can't fathom the fact that someone is here illegally, getting food stamps from the GOVERNMENT, and the I.N.S. can't "find them" to ship them back. Does that make ANY sense to anyone??

Do you live in an area where there are a lot of illegals?
No.

What is your heritage? I also will go with Heinz 57 white

I'll dang sure participate....sm - blondie

This subject strikes a nerve with me so here goes...

I am FIRMLY AGAINST illegal immigration. I have always thought it was wrong you know, but as a result of having 2 illegal immigrants for neighbors, I despise them. Most of them are alike too. They have put a bad taste in my mouth for all illegals because I see how they abuse the system and want all they can get free. Some are criminals. They bring drugs and crime here.
I am totally opposed to them being here. I am FIRMLY against amnesty. Why should they be rewarded for breaking the law?
I do not think they should be given our jobs as we are in a recession and need them ourselves. They take no telling how many jobs from Americans.
The fact that they scam their way into getting food stamps and WICK and Medicaid makes me furious. They do not deserve benefits when they are illegally here and don't pay taxes.
I have them living next to me. I see them in town sometimes too.

I am a white American, born and bred on American soil.

Agreed - Randy

Agree with the above posts. Illegals should not be here in the first place and should not be receiving employment or benefits of any kind. Re. the baloney about ''too many to deport'', if they were not receiving benefits, jobs, housing, access to ERs and schools, they would SELF deport!

The first person to ask a question was Kerry Ladka. "Was Ladka satisfied with how the president responded? Simply no. “I really didn’t think he totally answered the question satisfactorily as far as I was concerned,” Ladka tells the Erik Wemple Blog. After the debate . . . "President Obama, though, wasn’t done with Kerry Ladka. 'After the debate, the president came over to me and spent about two minutes with me privately,' says the 61-year-old Ladka, who works at Global ...

My Take On The Debate. SmOct 14, 2015
I was struck last night by the huge difference in what we can infer about the nature of Bernie's and Hillary's thought processes while they were processing the challenging questions that Anderson Cooper threw out at them individually. Hillary's demeanor reminded me of one of those canned Miss America Pageant contestant types whom you can tell is so focused on searching her memory bank for a previously stored 'good answer' that the importance of the issue itself was tota ...

Is Anyone Watching The GOP Debate On CNN?Feb 22, 2012
What are your thoughts about the questions and how the candidates are answering them?  Has anyone decided for sure who to vote for (if you're voting in the primaries or caucuses)?  I'm still undecided, so if you have decided, I would appreciate some input as to why you chose that candidate. ...

Diaper Debate...Sep 17, 2011
Okay, so here it is. I have a very good friend who is expecting. She is low income and has MA, WIC, food stamps, etc. She is slowly buying clothes, furniture, etc. a little at a time before baby arrives around May.  She knows about Goodwill, rummage sales, resale shops, and all that too.  She has other friends as well (who have had children) telling her which diapers are the best. She wants to start buying diapers now so she has a few packs/boxes to start with when the baby arrives. Sh ...

I'm So Tired Of The Tax Debate!May 14, 2010
Tax the rich more....tax the poor less, etc.  It is my opinion that if you tax the rich more, it won't help that much considering there are so many loopholes in the tax code that I'm sure the rich will find a way to get out of paying more taxes.  Why don't we just do a flat tax.  That will eliminate the loopholes.  Simple and easy...probably why they won't do it though.  They need something confusing so the crooks in the world can get out of paying ta ...

How To Debate The DonaldAug 03, 2015
This article is amusing. I would hope there is a lot of practice going on for other Republicans on how not to let him get under their skin. They should refuse to answer him directly (which I don't think they are supposed to anyway) and calmly present their perspective, no matter how wild his responses and answers are. If possible, they should ignore him and pretend he has not spoken at all. I particularly liked this reference-- "Other than a dart gun?," he said. "A tranquilizer gun ...

Debate Impressions? Sep 17, 2015
On TV this morning, Trump is complaining about the length of the debate.  Commentators are saying he appeared tired and "disappeared"  for about 40 minutes.  Kind of amusing coming from the "high energy" guy.  Do you think if he got the 2:00 am phone call he would say "call me back after 10 and I've had my coffee"? I think it is sort of insulting that he is complaining about standing for 3 hours.  Just think of all the Walmart workers on their feet all day, some wo ...

Need Opinions On An Ongoing Debate Between DH And MeSep 21, 2011
My DH and I have been having an ongoing argument about family obligations on the part of grown children.  We are so invested in our points of view that we sometimes get almost hostile and have to stop the conversation. We Need A New Topic To Discuss And DebateMay 08, 2011
On my mind has been the stealth helicoptor that was left behind in the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden. I think the young heroes on that raid just got a little too anxious on that one. Another topic I wouldn't mind discussing is whether Americans disagree about politics more these days than in the past. ...
