Marco Rubio's abuse of taxpayer money gets worse by the day

Posted: Nov 4, 2015

I had heard about his misuse of taxpayer money for a long time, but I thought it was minor issues.

"After reporting by the Times/Herald, Rubio did pay the Republican Party of Florida $2,400 for plane flights he double-billed to state taxpayers and the party."

That is not a minor issue.  Now I don't know who would be my choice of those 14 or 18 or however many they are now.  I just don't like anything Carson stands for and his personality grates on me, so I'll leave him for others. He seems to have plenty of people who adore him, although I sure don't know why. Bush is disappointing. Cruz just seems so spiteful, calling other GOP members liars and just being mean in general, although admittedly a talented lawyer.  Kasich seems smart, reasonable, and pleasant, but I must be one of the few who think so because polls indicate that he doesn't have a chance. I really would never vote for Carly Fiorina because I remember the HP fiasco. Christy says some very smart things but makes up for it by saying rude, obnoxious things and I don't think he's presidential material.  What are the rest of you doing choosing among these people? Who did I forget, and why did I forget them?

I said adios to Rubio after he said he wouldn't revoke Obama's - amnesty. It's sad what the puppetmasters

have done to him. He sold his soul.

Considered Carson until informaton came out that eliminated him for me - sm

Values and honesty mean everything to me. Several things happened to take him out of consideration for me. The first one was when he told the story of the guy with the gun on him and he told him to go get the guy behind the counter instead. I wouldn't have believed it but it was in an interview and he seemed proud of that, so that was worrisome.

Then a couple of his comments that were way out there about how the Jews would never have been slaughtered had they been armed, which isn't even close to being true, because there were a tiny number of Jews, huge numbers of Germans who supported Hitler and were armed, so it wouldn't have made any difference. That was a ridiculous statement and I thought maybe he was just having a bad day or two.

Then he was asked about a relationship he had with a supplement company and he claimed he didn't have a relationship with him. The man who works for him came forward to say that he most certainly did have a relationship with that company. Then the videos surfaced of him promoting the company on video plus the meetings where he admitted to being paid for promoting the product. That wasn't honest. All of these just keep adding up against him plus, I'm a pretty good judge of character and I'm just not believing his PR. I do believe he was poor and made a success of himself in the medical field. Lots of people do that. Good for him. Good for them. I've also, like many of you, known many doctors working with them behind the scenes, brilliant in their particular field and perfectly weird outside of it. I mean flaky, weird! Very poor skills outside of their medical expertise. So, Carson is out for me. I guess I'm at Kasich. I hope he doesn't start stretching the truth or going weird.

I just think he doesn't have any of the skills the president needs to have - Others look much better qualified

[ In Reply To ..]
Kasich does have much better qualifications. Not saying Carson isn't smart. He obviously is, in medical situations, but I can't even start to think of him trying to handle all of the serious situations the world faces right now. Being quiet doesn't always equal having knowledge. Granted, it's better than the ones that turn red in the face, like Ted Cruz, but the quiet demeanor doesn't mean he has what it takes to face crisis after crisis, as the president has to do.

I would trust Trump before Carson and I don't trust Trump at all - Kasich really might be a better choice

[ In Reply To ..]
Trump is a Truther, of course, and I don't buy into any of that garbage. Kasich really is smart and has what many politicians lack, common sense. I'm seriously considering making him my choice.

He's calm okay, but without the thoughtful part of a calm approach - Where do we find our candidates?

[ In Reply To ..]
I think the GOP party can do better than that, but they don't now that the extremists are in charge. It's a pretty hopeless situation for those of us who liked it when issues could be calmly and intelligently discussed and compromises made when appropriate. Now there is no compromise ever, and the answer is always NO! That's no way to govern a country or even the part of the country that the extremists control and are destroying.

Wow! Have you seen the video on Chris Christie? - Changed my mind about him

[ In Reply To ..]
Apparently people all over the country have made the video go viral. I just watched it. While my first thought about him is always that he's obnoxious, this was a very thoughtful discussion that impressed me about his intelligence and common sense. If you get a chance to see it, I hope you will. He probably doesn't have a chance to win the nomination and that may or may not be a good thing, but it's worth seeing.

Poor Rubio. He Got Bad Advice.Feb 27, 2016
This absolutely wasn't Rubio's year to run for President, and any advisor could have told him as much.  In the first place, he simply doesn't have the time-in-grade.  He needed to spend a lot more time (perhaps even 12 years) in the Senate to develop the "gravitas" necessary to be a viable candidate.    Second, although I hate the fact that a candidate's physical appearance should have anything to do with voter decisions, appearance DOES matter - and you ...

Unemployed Men Are More Likely To Abuse Their WivesFeb 23, 2010
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pushed for a $15 billion jobs bill Monday by suggesting that unemployed men are more likely to abuse their wives. “Men when they're out of work tend to become abusive,” Reid said as he argued in favor of a cloture vote on the jobs bill. “I met with some people while I was home dealing with domestic abuse. Taxpayer Bill For Obama’s Hawaii Vacations:Jan 04, 2013
Michelle Obama recently revealed that she and President Obama don’t give Christmas gifts to each other. They merely say, “We’re in Hawaii,” and that’s Christmas gift enough. BUT ACTUALLY THE PRESENT IS FROM TAXPAYERS, AND IT'S AN EXPENSIVE ONE. The total cost to taxpayers of Obama’s vacations to Hawaii since becoming president is likely in excess of $20 million, and possibly much, much more.
