Rubio did a superb job

Posted: Feb 13, 2013

as we expected. He's a man to whom America should listen. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57569094/rubio-more-government-breeds-more-problems/;

He appeared not ready for prime time to me. - xyz

Thirsty l'il bugger!

If that's the only thing you've got to pick on - him about...

[ In Reply To ..]
I'd say he did fantastic :)

Oh, there's A LOT more to nitpick about... - xyz

He talked of benefitting from federally funded student loans and of his mother benefitting from Medicare, yet he's a Tea Party darling who votes against these very things. What a hypocrite! He did not look presidential, and I hope his presidential aspirations go into the crapper like Bobby Jindal's did after his little speech a few years ago. Plus he was one of 22 who voted against the Violence Against Women Act. Despicable.

He sure did! - Half Pint

He's really kept that eye contact - Future SNL skit.

[ In Reply To ..]
I think it's great that he's having a sense of humor about it, because it was ridiculous looking and I'm sure he realizes it. It almost looked staged.

I'm also glad we have more to talk about now other than "Obama looked bored," which in itself became a boring conversation (how many times can we argue over whether he looked bored?).

Need we remind you of Obama's - dismal no-eye-contact 2nd debate?

Perfect SNL skit material. ;)

P.S.: Obama looked bored.

Agree - His speech held substance - sm

and a clear direction. As opposed to Obama's recycled, circular, non-speech. Of course, the media is focusing on a little bottle of water to distract since they can't refute his statements.

But I thought that chugging water is what all the pub cool kids are doing. - We can't talk about it?

If they don't want it to be a distraction, maybe they should stop being such trend setters.

Rubio can laugh at himself - and still outperform Obama.

Outperform Obama at what, exactly?

Please, I'd love to hear about his awesomeness.

So eager to criticize - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Seems like just grasping at straws. Just have to criticize Rubio even if it is something as inane as needing a drink of water. Anything that will turn attention away from Obama and his failure to lead.
Yeah! It's not like anyone does that - with Obama.

LOL xinfinity.

The man could save a child from a burning house and people would complain that he looked bored/tired/angry.
I'm surprised that you responded to this post in order to criticize me for criticizing him. You - have responded to my

"hydration" post and taken a crack at telling me about how awesome he is. I guess I'll keep waiting on that one.
Ummm - Okaaaaaay...... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess you will keep waiting on that one because frankly this post makes no sense to me - I can hardly respond to something like that, can I?
Well, there should have been a *could* between the "You" and - "have."

Sorry about that getting cut off.

Second, if you are having trouble finding the post I described, here it is:

http://general.mtstars.com/338224.html

Lastly, I'm surprised that you chose to answer the post you did. After all, all you did was criticize me for supposedly criticizing Rubio (go figure), where you could have jumped at the opportunity to answer the question posed in the "hydration" post (Outperform Obama at what, exactly?) and elaborated on Rubio's awesomeness.

The media is focusing on it because it's the newest Internet phenomenon. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I doubt it would have had much legs if not for it becoming the newest meme sensation. His efforts to keep his eyes locked on the camera while doing it certainly made it unusual and funny and thus ripe for Internet over-attention.

Last week it was the Harlem Shake, this week Rubio's water break, next week something else. Republicans shouldn't take it personally when something like this goes viral.

Poor Rubio. He Got Bad Advice.Feb 27, 2016
This absolutely wasn't Rubio's year to run for President, and any advisor could have told him as much.  In the first place, he simply doesn't have the time-in-grade.  He needed to spend a lot more time (perhaps even 12 years) in the Senate to develop the "gravitas" necessary to be a viable candidate.    Second, although I hate the fact that a candidate's physical appearance should have anything to do with voter decisions, appearance DOES matter - and you ...

Rubio-Fiorina Would Make A Dynamite Ticket.Aug 07, 2015
I would put Carly in the VP slot simply because she's never held an elective office, and I think she would benefit from spending 4 or hopefully 8 years in the right seat (co-pilot).   Such a ticket would take the wind out of most of the liberals' divisive strategies. I still can't believe that the liberals haven't come up with a single decent candidate yet, with their "big tent" and all that rot.  They'd better get on the stick, because it's quite o ...

Marco Rubio's Abuse Of Taxpayer Money Gets Worse By The DayNov 04, 2015
I had heard about his misuse of taxpayer money for a long time, but I thought it was minor issues. "After reporting by the Times/Herald, Rubio did pay the Republican Party of Florida $2,400 for plane flights he double-billed to state taxpayers and the party." The Washington Post's "Pinocchio Test": Marc Rubio Earned 4 For His Iraq AnswerMay 19, 2015
The Washington Post delivers a "Pinocchio Test" every time a candidate says something that is not based on fact that's interesting to follow.  The reason it is a rating scale is because they check what they said for fact and it's a ranged scale, from 1 to 4, based on everything from possible misinterpretations and selective truth-telling to outright falsehoods. Rubio Claims "Not Fair" On Iraq QuestionMay 18, 2015
The question, MARCO, is whether you think it was a mistake to go to war in Iraq.  Not, whether you think it was a mistaken judgment on the part of Pres. Bush to go to war.  We want to know if you think it w a mistake!   1.  Would you have decided to go to war based on things at the time. 2.  In retrospect, was it a mistake (having found out different information, watching the Iraq's development, ISIS, etc.)?  I guess the problem with this is that if they sa ...
