Romney has provided his 2010 return and (I think) his preliminary return for 2011.

The high-water mark for disclosure was set by Sen. Robert Dole, R-Kan., in the 1996 election. He released 30 years of tax returns. Second place honors go to Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., for providing 20 years worth when he ran in 2004, although he had released 15 of those returns before he launched his presidential bid. (Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, had considerable wealth and released only a portion of her 2003 taxes.)

After that, there is a tie between Romney’s father, George Romney, in 1968 and Bill Clinton in 1992. Both men released 12 years of tax returns. Close on their heels is Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., with 10 when he was Kerry’s running mate.

Several candidates released anywhere from six to nine years of returns. In 2000, George W. Bush provided nine and Al Gore eight. In the 2008 primary, then Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., delivered seven.

as I'm so often told...but I've had his tax return on my desk for at least a month. The one that was filed, not the preliminary one.

Who cares how many years of tax returns are released. He released the amount tax returns that are required. Nothing more, nothing less.

What do most politicians have in common besides releasing tax returns? They release transcripts of their background; i.e., schooling, military, etc. etc.
Obama, on the other hand, has blocked and PAID to have his records sealed.

Rather than demonizing Romney for being successful, you should be congratulating him and strive to do what he did. You Democrats are so jealous of the Republican rich but give a pass on the Democratic rich. The most weathliest congressman are Democratic. You focus on how "little" Romeny pays in taxes and how much he makes but overlook the percent he gives to charity (over 30%). Neither Obama (who is a millionaire) nor Biden can compare. At least Romney is doing altruistic things with his money. Obama takes zillions of vacations (this is an exaggeration so calm down) at taxpayer expense. He should be working every damn day. He wanted this job. He spent $600 million dollars to get this job. So stop complaining about how hard everything is.

Evidently no one has ever heard of the Naturalization Act of 1790. It states that anyone born overseas to a parent who is an American citizen is automatically considered a natural-born citizen of the United States, therefore eligible to run for President. I truly believe Obama was born in Hawaii, but even if he was not, his mother was an American citizen, therefore so is he. End of story.

Only native-born U.S. citizens (or those born abroad, but only to parents who were both citizens of the U.S.) - Obama's father was not a citizen of the US.

The Naturalization Act of 1790 has nothing to do with this.

George Romney was never a citizen of Mexico according to Mexican law, which are stricter than U.S. citizenship. To be a citizen of Mexico, you must be born of one or both Mexican citizens.

BOTH George Romney's parents were U.S. citizens and they did not relinquish their citizenship when they moved to Mexico...so that makes Mitt Romney eligible for the presidency, as well as his father, George Romney.

You obviously never took an American Government class when you were in school. Romney pays 13% because his TYPE OF INCOME IS FROM INVESTMENTS, not hourly wages or salary.. the TAX BRACKETS are made differently for types of earners..HE DID NOT PULL THIS OUT OF THIN AIR- IT IS THE IR"FRIGN"S THAT HAS ITS RULES - ROMNEY SIMPLY COMPLIED. Romney was already taxed on this money at a much higher rate. He then invested his money that he ALREADY worked for (which is what he lived on while campaigning)and was taxed on it again, so how these people can complain is beyond me. He followed the law. They just hate him because he is rich, and because this is what Obama wants them to do... it is very very sad.

Why do you care how much in taxes he pays? He pays the taxes required by the tax code. The tax code was written by both democrats and republicans. Get rid of the tax code and replace with a fair or flat tax, then we won't have to guess what percent everyone pays.
