GOP imposed gun control on themselves

Hopefully all those private arsenals are well stocked. ATF folks are nonessential. No new gun permits for the duration. Wonder what else could go wrong?

No CDC funds for flu vaccines or infectious disease oversight, so elders and kids better limit potential exposures. Unpaid vacays for nearly half a million civilian defense workers. Bare bones Coast Guard patrols and navigation assistance. Drug traffikers ought to love that. Death benes for military family members will be delayed. Guess burials will have to wait. US Forest workers furloughs during peak wildfire season. Hopefully none will break out near populated areas.

Need a fast track visa or passport? No can do, so hopefully nothing urgent will arise, like the death of a family member for naturalized citizens or permanent residents with family overseas. NIH clinical trials suspended, a problem for cancer, infectious disease, heart and lung patients in the middle of drug trials. OSHA workplace inspections cancelled, so workers in hazardous jobs will be a less safe. Tourist industry economies will take a hit.

Need a small business, FHA or USDA loan? Get in line. E-verify is off line, much to undocumented workers' delight. DHS chemical facility security funding runs out Friday. Conspiracy theorists and scandal mongers, beware. FOIA requests will pile up. Lights out at NASA. This is pretty bad news for Houston. Tried to look up other locations, but the site is down for the duration.

National parks campers have 48 hours to pack up and get outta town by sunset. EPA shuttered. VA funding for disability and survivor benefits checks will run out in two weeks. Pregnant women and hungry kids dependent on SNAP to eat are cut off as of TODAY. Same is true for TANF beneficiaries. Food safety? Forget it. Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration inspections screech to a halt, along with imported food inspection. Autos just became a little less safe. Recall inspectors are staying home.

Food and drug safety is further imperiled by HHS skeleton staffing. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff is at a whopping 8%. With cold weather just around the corner, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is at risk so those folks could get end up cold and in the dark. Consumer fraud oversight will grind to a halt. Students dependent on Pell Grants and student loan payments, out of luck.

really believe that the republicans have the right to hold the budget hostage over a law that was already passed? They are two totally separate issues and have no business being attached.

GOP is pretending there is and it is that pretense that led to the shut down. You know it, I know it and so do the voters. the law is being implemented as we speak, isn't it? Like I said, the GOP imposed gun control on themselves. Ironic, isn't it?

Let the Dems have it their way, but I bet they still would not be happy. Screw the government. Polls show 85% of Americans do not want Obamacare. At least the PUBS listen to the PEOPLE. I guess THE PEOPLE does not matter anymore. It is the DEMS and big government who own UNITED STATES. United State civilians mean nothing.

I am telling you, civil unrest coming to a city near you! I love it how Obama keeps making his 400,000 a year while other senate leaders are getting paid over 100,000 while others could not go to work today and do not get paid because of government shut down. Just gotta love our wonderful powerful government because Dems will not compromise.

Not just to prevent pregnancy - To regulate menstrual cycles, as treatment for other female problems, menopause issues etc. These are many medical reasons for taking birth control, not just to prevent pregnancy.
