I know this might get a little deep for you, but this is called a "straw man" logical fallacy.

And it doesn't MATTER what the #1 definition is, because the context made it quite clear which definition was in play - and that was #2.

So let's call Obama #2. That works for me too!

Incidentally, if you follow definition #1, you'll find that definition also applies to Obama, although I wasn't going to say so. Look up "mongrel", as used in the first definition.
