All the warm fuzzies for Dick Cheney

Posted: Mar 25, 2012

not a word of outrage that I can find on this board for the young black man killed by a racist. Where is the passion for his lost future? I so enjoy seeing the conservative blind spot displayed.  Too focused on finding progressive's short-comings cant see their own flaws, but every once in a while their silence reveals their true nature.

I was surprised no one posted about this too. - Zville MT

There was a post over on the Gab Board about it that had quite a few responses - pretty much all of them agreed the SOB with the gun should go to jail for a very long time. I guess no one posted it here because it's not political? Not sure.

I wonder what a neighborhood watch person was doing with a gun! We have neighborhood watch in my neighborhood, but that means we watch and if we see something suspicious, we call the police, not chase them down and shoot them! That guy was flat out wrong and I hope he has plenty of time to think about his rasict ways in jail. Feel terrible for the family - I can't even imagine :(

Were you - There?

[ In Reply To ..]
I know I wasn't and you and I don't know all the facts. That's why we have a court system to figure if he is guilty or not.

Let's see he should go to jail and he is a racist. That's some strong statements from somebody that wasn't there and knows no facts.

No facts? I think there are a multitude of...sm - oldtimer

[ In Reply To ..]
facts including cell phone calls, recordings of 911 calls, calls to dispatch, and a young black man who probably weighed less than half Zimmerman's weight and carried a can of iced tea and a bag of Skittles is dead.
LOL - I also heard
[ In Reply To ..]
Martin was 6'2, athletic built, suspended from school. I also heard someone saw Martin on top of Zimmerman while he was screaming for help. I also heard a 911 call where there is a voice screaming for help that could have been Zimmerman's. Why hasn't Zimmerman been arrested if it is so cut and dry?

Like I said, I wasn't there and I don't claim to know what happened. All I know is in this country we are innocent until proven guilty.
LOL?? No cause for laughter here. - beyond the pale!
[ In Reply To ..]
When was the last time being tall and athletic was enough to get shot? I can't believe your flippant LOL.
My LOL - was
[ In Reply To ..]
not a laugh at someone getting killed, my laugh was at your comment about the "facts." No one said being tall and athletic was enough to get shot. My point was that there are a lot of so called facts out there. I don't know what happened. I just know I'm not going to say Zimmerman is guilty or shot in self-defense, that is up to the court to decide.

There are many, many shootings every day and this one is no different. The only reason this case got out of hand is because someone in the media threw the "racist" card in the pile. I live near one of the worst cities in the country and there were 10 shootings last week. Did you hear about them?

This man has already been tried and sentenced by the media and we really don't know what happened. As far as him not being arrested, maybe there are reasons why he has not been arrested. Maybe it's not so clear-cut as a poor little black boy being gunned down by a racist.
your last sentence says it all - ...
[ In Reply To ..]
It was not I who made the comment about the "facts". That was another poster. It's good to remember you are on a public message board.

I am sorry there were ten shootings in your city last week. We probably did not hear about "your" shootings because they were related to crime and the perpetrators were arrested. These elements were profoundly absent in young Trayvon's death.

I guarantee we would have heard about "your" shootings if they involved adults shooting unarmed kids with impunity.

I agree that none of us knows what happened. The police need to arrest someone and charge them before the jury gets to hear the case, right?

As far as the "race" card, I'm going to let you work that out with yourself. Start with your last sentence. I haven't heard talk like that since the 60s.
I guess a - 6 year old
[ In Reply To ..]
little girl is a criminal. Shame on her for walking down the street and that guy drove by and shot her. You didn't hear about it because it was a black little girl and a black guy that shot her. Happens all the time across the country but you don't hear about them because they aren't made big by the media calling them raceist issues.

You must live with your head in the sand if you haven't heard the race card since the 60's.
that's not at all what I said... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
It is a crime to shoot any person. Certainly, when they apprehend the shooter of this 6-year-old they will arrest him -- if they haven't done so already. If the police were to let the shooter go, I daresay the community and the media would have a lot to say about that.

As for the location of my head, it is not in the sand. I have certainly heard the phrase "race card". It was your use of the pejorative "poor little black boy" in this context that brought me back to the 60s.
This is what - you said was
[ In Reply To ..]
"I am sorry there were ten shootings in your city last week. We probably did not hear about "your" shootings because they were related to crime and the perpetrators were arrested." I merely told you that you didn't hear about it because it was a black killing a black.

If it had been a white man killing the black child, you would have heard all about it.

Perhaps why they let Zimmerman go is because they have other evidence that we do not know about. No, it is not common to let a clear-cut killer go.

that's the point - it is for the courts to decide - not the police

[ In Reply To ..]
I had no idea the police would just let you go home if you told them it was self defense.

I think the outrage over it is universal, so maybe it's - just a given that it was wrong. (sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
With the exception of Geraldo Rivera's bizarre blame-game pointing at the wearing of HOODIES, I think most people feel it was wrong for an amateur "cop" - just a Neighborhood Watch member with an itchy trigger-finger - to be carrying a gun under any circumstances. I wear hoodies all the time (don't most of us?) and nobody has ever pointed a gun at me. The difference is, I'm white.

Anyway, I just think people didn't respond because it wasn't a contentious issue. I think we all feel for that poor boy & his lost future.

I was surprised too, maybe they didn't get the - memo

[ In Reply To ..]
Looks like the white liberal apologists suffering from white liberal guilt are shirking in their race-baiting duties.

Further, politicizing the tragedy of Trayvon Martin speaks volumes of you and your ilk. The only flaw here is you, using this tragedy to fulfill your enjoyment and opportunity to bash Conservatives.

Rather than trying to educate and inform people the right way, you would rather add fuel to the fire with racial accusations/slurs.

Think about it, when the New Black Panther Party with their lynch mob mentality starts taking out citizens namely white people, what will white liberal apologists do? You created this, you own it, and guess what NBPP could care less if you are an Obama-loving Prog/Lib, a Conservative, a Christian, or Jewish, if you have white skin you are toast. You will not escape the wrath of the NBPP.

Since you are pushing us towards race wars/riots where will you stand?

Please grow up. A lot of people are grieving over this incident. I think a lot of you white folks don't understand the tension and strife tragedies like this bring into one's life. A bit of advice, before you go making jokes about using black people or any other non-whites, think before you post.

I for one will leave it up to the justice system to handle.

Yeah...WE ALL KNOW you hate Fox News, who cares? Get over yourself and grow up. BTW - your facts, as usual, are not facts at all. These guys had billy clubs, chains and 1 had a baseball bat. Funny, never saw any of that equipment were I've voted for the last several decades. SEVERAL voters reported "intimidation" by these Black Panthers. The court case had been won and your sweet old Eric Holder refused to follow through with the charges, which is his job, because Holder's stated agenda from his lips, was to not prosecute ANY black voter violations crimes...yeah, he really looks out for the American public.

Saw a post from several of you where you went berserk, literally, because CNN, MSNBC, HSNBC, HuffPo, MM, MoveOn plastered a CROPPED picture of a tea parter member with a gun in a holster. What they cropped out as that it was a black plains clothes police officer. CNN, MSNBC, HSNBC, HuffPo, MM, MoveOn never told the truth about cropping the picutre. Now go ahead and bless us with your usual flaming, incorrect, uninformed comments....makes for good comedy.

All the warm fuzzies for Dick Cheney - but - where was Dems/libs outrage - None here

Well, since you had to go and make it - political, here's a

[ In Reply To ..]
link to make you think. The Stand Your Ground Law that allowed Zimmerman to kill Trayvon "in self defense" and thus without legal punishment, is being pushed by ALEC, an organization funded by the NRA, the Koch Bros, and lots of other righties, onto the legislatures of the remaining states in this country who do not have such a statute. ALEC is also pushing for legislation to force states that do not have concealed carry permits to allow people from other states WITH concealed carry permits to carry. So a person like Zimmerman would be able to carry a concealed weapon into say, NYC, and thus open fire on any young black male wearing a hoodie by whom Zimmerman felt threatened. ALEC is also behind the Virginia ultrasound law and some other far-right legislation being considered around the country.

Well, since you had to go and make it - political, here's a - As usual - your post is wrong AGAIN

[ In Reply To ..]
Clearly you are not equipped for interpretation of legal matters. That law DID NOT give Zimmerman the right to PURSUE anyone. It DID NOT give him the right to track this young man. It DID NOT give him the right to question, apprehend, stop or engage this young man in any way. The police specifically instructed, on tape, for Zimmerman NOT TO FOLLOW THIS YOUNG MAN. So, even though your twisted, convoluted post tried hard to blame this on Republicans, the only thing it proved is you have no idea what you are talking about and have not posted facts at all. BTW - Stand your Ground law has to do with someone APPROACHING YOU in an intimidating, aggressive manner, threatening harm, to allow you to protect yourself. I am all for that law. Too many sickies that "spin" things to benefit them to harm others..yeah, like this post. It nothing at all to do with killing someone that you tracked, followed and confronted and engaged in conflict, after the police told you to stop.

I guess you haven't heard that Zimmerman is using - that law in his defense. nm

he can use the defense, does not mean he will be permitted or acquitted based on using that law, no matter how deceptively he uses it - It is still in the beginning of the legal process and defense strategy has not been fully employed. But with the far-reaching legal intrepration of the OP, (s)he's got him walking free to kill at will in NYC. Pretty far stretch even for a lib. Does not mean Zimmerman is going to get off. What do you expect Zimmerman to say differently than 99% of the all the other killers on trial. "I did it judge, insert the needle"?
