Advice to conservatives on the board.

Posted: Aug 1, 2012

You will, no doubt, have noticed that the liberals on this board are largely unable and/or unwilling to actually discuss any substantial issues - or to defend Obama's dismal record - with any sort of competence.  Show them an Obama ad today, and they'll repeat it tomorrow.

But I would only ask you to consider this:  What else can they do, and how would you like to be in their shoes?

My advice, then, is this:  Walk a mile in their shoes, and when you've understood the problem they have it will be easier to take the second part of this advice, which is:  Be kind to them, but do not respond in kind.  You don't have their problems.

Thanks for the laugh. - Too much

Just when I thought they have no sense of humor.

See above.

You should maybe save your laughter - if any - for November.

It's always interesting when "laughter" is the response to a post. You always know immediately that there's absolutely nothing more substantial by way of response.

Riiight... - Move it to the comedy board

Sometimes a post is so obviously ridiculous it would be redundant to point it out. In that case, I think laughter is the only appropriate response.
Nice try. No save. - You don't play women's volleyball do you

proving that pubs have a fantastic sense of humor. It was so much fun. Turns out they are hilarious! This one from the office of Jon Kyl is still my fav:

"Not intended to be a factual statement"

Can't be said with a straight face. Try it! Guaranteed to make you giggle.

Maybe we should start a new proof of pub/con sense of humor thread. It's been a few months, and with Mittwit's recent trip, I'm sure there is more than enough material to work with.

O's record may not be the greatest - but I'll be darned

If I want anything that might even be close to the Bush record that went before. To me, Rmoney would be Bush with a little more brains and someone I definitely would NOT want to have a beer with (if he even knows what beer is).
I shiver to think of where we would be today if McCain/Palin - sm

Oh wow...I can't agree more!!...I bet he would have added at least 4 Trillion to Bush's deficit. No doubt the unemployment rate would STILL be at least 8% and we would have had THREE summers of promised recovery...SHIVER ME TIMBERS. It would have been horrible!
Would that be like the tingle that ran up Chris Matthews' leg? - Disgusting thought.

#1, we wouldn't have wasted all this time with Obamacare, and we wouldn't be another $6 trillion in debt.

#2, when you've said #1, you've said just about everything.

Shiver your timbers with that.
Chirs Matthew's tingle - This was GREAT!

I Have Got To Find A Board For Conservatives SoonNov 19, 2015
I have got to find a board where you can speak without someone stuffing their fist down your throat. This whole board is like this. No one can give their opinion without being called irrational or whatever. Wouldn't it be too bad if Obama sits by while America burns and ISIS takes over, beheads our people and installs Sharia law. It could happen, yet you all want to sit there with your head in the sand. You never listen to the other side and the proof they show on the news for wha ...

Have you ever argued politics with a conservative counterpart and felt as if you were speaking two different languages? Well, you were. In order to bridge the divide, we have developed some definitions in the hopes of making things a bit easier. con-serv-a-tive [kuhn-sur-vuh-tiv] -noun: A liberal who has not yet figured out how to think for himself/herself. def-i-cit [def-uh-sit; Brit. also di-fis-it] -noun:  The amount by which a sum of money falls short of the required amount, which o ...

Simple Solution For Conservatives.Oct 14, 2009
If you are unhappy with the current administration, start volunteering your time, put your money where your mouth is, and get more conservatives out to vote in future elections.  If your candidates have the majority of votes, you will get the change you seek.  If your candidates do not have the majority of votes, then you are obliged to abide by the laws set forth by those elected to office by the majority.  That is how democracy works. Having tea parties, holding up offensive si ...

Conservatives: Rejoice. You Are Watching TheFeb 03, 2017
Liberals will suffer another disastrous election in 2018 because they can't figure out why they've already suffered 3 sequential disasters in a row that have cost them governorships, state legislatures and control of the federal government. Dilemma For Conservatives-- Support This?Apr 21, 2015
Typically I would have expected Conservatives to support men running around with guns and "practicing" military exercises.  The Jade Helm military exercises don't seem so clear-cut for them.  And, the conspiracy theorist connection with the Wal-Mart stores is pretty amusing.  Does anyone know personally (live in areas where these stores were closed) whether they are clearing out the stores of merchandise.  Many of the items will be "stale" after 6 months, (food prod ...

Hi all, I just needed a little advice.  My sister called me last night and asked me to watch my 2yo niece while she and her husband and her 13yo daughter went on a cruise in June.  I told her that I couldnt because the 3 days that she wants me to watch her are days that I work.  Keep in mind, I have a 13yo, a 4yo, and a 16mo myself which I work at home with and it is difficult.  I just dont think that people get how hard it is even though Im at home.  Anyway, so I told ...

I've been living with a guy for 12 years. There are some aspects of his personality/behavior that are positive. Need Advice - What Would You Do?Jan 19, 2010

MIL AdviceOct 25, 2010
Our family was planning a trip to Disney World this summer and then I decided that maybe we should go to California (where we are from) and go to Disneyland, that way grandparents can come.  Since then, my MIL has taken it upon herself to plan out ourentire vacation, starting with trying to make our motel reservations on the drive there and ending with making them on the way back.  If she were just being nice, it would be completely different, but really, she is just being controlling. ...
