Simple solution for conservatives.

Posted: Oct 14, 2009

If you are unhappy with the current administration, start volunteering your time, put your money where your mouth is, and get more conservatives out to vote in future elections.  If your candidates have the majority of votes, you will get the change you seek.  If your candidates do not have the majority of votes, then you are obliged to abide by the laws set forth by those elected to office by the majority.  That is how democracy works.

Having tea parties, holding up offensive signs, and screaming angrily at town hall meetings will accomplish absolutely nothing except more divisivness.  Put all of your energy into electing the candidates you feel will best represent your interests.  That is the only way to accomplish "change."  That is what we, the majority, did when we elected President Obama and a Democrat majority in the House and Senate.

Many Democrats are already hard at work preparing for the next election, and I suggest that the conservatives get busy as soon as possible, or it will be another lost cause.

I say the above with all due respect to the conservative posters on this forum.

You mean like democrats were obliged to abide by.... - watcher

the laws set forth during a Republican administration? Just the tiniest bit of hypocrisy there?

Democrats/liberals (quite a few of them) held up offensive signs, screamed angrily in the streets...but that was okay? Again...just the tiniest bit of hypocrisy there? Protest of the government belongs only to liberals/democrats?

You, the "majority," included a lot of moderate Democrats, a WHOLE lot of independents, and even some really disgruntled conservatives. Democrats alone did not elect Obama. If you think only Republicans or conservatives are holding those signs...with all due respect, I believe you are wrong.

If you think independents and conservatives are not already hard at work preparing for the next election, with all due respect, again, I know you are wrong.

And if the game does change in 2010, I do not expect you to abide by anything posted here and sit down and not be vocal about what you want for your country....and you should not. If you are unhappy with the government you should make that known...that is your right as an AMERICAN, regardless of what party is in the white house or what party you belong to. It is that blind following of "party" that divides this country and gives politicians all the power. You would think we would learn from history....yet we do not.

I say the above with all due respect to everyone on this board.

We are definitely gonna vote them all out!! - Doncha worry...nm

A Solution!Mar 15, 2011
I posted some time ago about having a problem with covering gray/white roots after having my hair colored at the salon.  It gets expensive when your hair grows very fast like mine.  I try to stretch out the time, going every 5 weeks.  In the meantime I have been using the color stick at the roots, which is less than perfect.  It didn't match, felt greasy, etc.  I was giving up hope of finding something that would completely cover and would not turn my hair that pink ...

A Possible Unemployment Solution?Nov 04, 2010
A financial pundit, James Galbraith, suggested:  We have a large cohort of people who have been displaced by a major economic crisis,” he says. “It's utterly ridiculous to make them subsist on unemployment insurance, when in fact, there aren’t going to be jobs.  This is not a temporary condition for a great many people.” Galbraith claims lowering the retirement age would solve that problem. It's a win-win, he says, allowing those nearing retirement a ...

No Use Depending On Hildabeast For Outsourcing SolutionAug 01, 2016

To Uninformed Flamer Poster With The Big Screen TV Solution To BCMar 02, 2012
Speaking of uninformed, there are 820 PP clinics and around 68 million women of child-bearing age in the US.  That works out to around 82,927 women per clinic.  Yeah, that'll work.  Access for those who live hundreds of miles from the nearest facility could prove problematic, dontcha think?  Of those, only a small percentage qualify for tiered cost programs.  Your assumption that PP can handle this all by its lonesome is ridiulous, particularly in view of the relent ...

What Is The Libertarian Solution To The West Virginia Crisis?Jan 11, 2014
From what I understand, Libertarians do not believe in government regulation or assistance.   The West Virgina area recently had a chemical spill making all the available water totally unuseable except for flushing toilets.  Hospitals, nursing homes, restaurants are all  unable to do their jobs.  An etimated population of almost half a million people are affected, as well as the animals.  I wonder who all drank the water before this chemical spill was identifie ...

Two-state Solution Has Been Offered By Israel Several TimesJan 01, 2017
Jordan and Israel were carved out of Transjordan in 1948. Palestine never existed as a state nor was it a part of the Middle East script. At one time during Bill Clinton's presidency, Arafat walked out when Israel offered a solution. They don't want to live in peace. They want to eradicate Jews. This does not include all Arabs living in peace with the Jews in Israel. The press never differentiates this. The underlying problem is that a two-state solution creating a national ...

A Better Solution To America’s Immigration Problem: End Birthright Citizenship.Nov 21, 2014

Direct Primary Care Offers A Market Solution To Doctor Shortages.Oct 12, 2016
physician, the doctor — not insurance companies or government regulators — sets his own rates. How to cut government spending: WHERE TO CUT – DISCRETIONAL SPENDING Unnecessary government programs should be eliminated, such as agricultural subsidies, “corporate welfare,” and tax credits for favored industries.  These programs do not serve the interests of the general public, and the beneficiaries do not need government support.  Agricultural subsidies primarily benefit big agribusinesses and wealthy landowners, for example, while driving up food prices for all ...

Simple LogicOct 11, 2012
this not long ago.  It is funny, but the point is simple and valid.   Father-Daughter Talk A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. She felt deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican which she expressed openly. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to higher taxes on the rich & the addi ...

There Is Really A Simple Answer To Apr 27, 2017
Trump goes on a tweet storm blaming the democrats for wanting to shut the government down so you and I can't go to national parks because they won't agree to a spending bill.  The democrats don't want to pass a spending bill until they see his taxes and how he would benefit from any bill they put out.   Well that's a no brainer, show the taxes. ...

I Asked A Simple Question Oct 10, 2012
I asked if someone could help me find Romney's tax plan.  Only one person was able to help by sending me to the Romney site after a whole lot of unhelpful comments about my research skills.  Thank you to that person.  (Thank you as well for the other links, I appreciate your effort, but I wanted it straight from the horse's mouth). So, I checked it out, and here is what I found: Make permanent, across-the-board 20 percent cut in marginal rates Maintain cur ...

Simple But Intriguing Tax Plan -Jan 10, 2013
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is proposing to eliminate Louisiana’s income and corporate taxes and pay for those cuts with increased sales taxes, the governor’s office confirmed Thursday. The governor’s office has not yet provided the details of the plan. “The bottom line is that for too long, Louisiana’s workers and small businesses have suffered from having a state tax structure that is too complex and that holds back economic prosperity,” Jindal said in a statement released by ...

One Simple Step Trump Can Take That Would ChillNov 20, 2016
He should arrest a few of the CEO's of companies that are violating the law by employing illegals. Throw these greedy profit-driven scofflaws in prison, levy huge fines against their companies, and the rest will quickly get the message, you can be sure.  Rationale:  We're asked to believe that most illegals come to the US to find work.  If this is true, and it may be, then cutting off the jobs would both damp down the influx of new arrivals AND would likely cause the se ...

Obama's Paris Agreement In Simple TermsJun 02, 2017
Today the Obama Administration will sign the Paris climate agreement at a ceremony in New York, a move that is projected to severely impact the U.S. economy with ironically negligible impacts for the environment. The agreement will not only set the stage for increased regulation, but will crush U.S. economic output, reduce household income for millions, and likely lead to hundreds of thousands of lost jobs.     The agreement is a product of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Con ...
