right to choose. This is not Obama's bill. He was a child when it was passed, though he does support a woman's right to choose. Maybe your efforts would be better spent in making birth control more accessible or, in the event of a woman choosing to give birth, support for her decision.

I believe easily accessible birth control - would put a stop to many abortions

[ In Reply To ..]
And it would be more effective than preaching abstinence.

You mean it is NOT easily accessible now? - What!! (sm)

[ In Reply To ..]
How easy would you like it? Come to your door and put your pill in your mouth everyday? They are already giving condoms away in school, for Heavens sake.
It is not easily accessible for everyone. Texas - case in point right now SM

refusing funding for Planned Parenthood. People in rural communities with little funds have difficulty.
Well, then they might just have to resort to another (sm) - Old fashioned

method, like before sleeping with someone make them get a condom. Or the more tried and true method of putting an aspirin between your knees. Assuming they can afford aspirin - it can be used over and over.
They just post the same tired old argument - Let Hollywood fund PP

They're always crying and whining they want to do more. I am sick of the no- acounts that make every single thing in their lives soemone else's responsbility, just so they don't have to be accountable for anything. THEY CAN HAVE IT MAILED TO THEIR DAMN DOOR and yet they still complain. Guess they do want someont to come to their house, open their mouths, insert the pill, get the water and then massage their throat until they swallow. After that, the Libs would find something else to complain about. What babies.
You know, that is very true. (sm) - Aunt Sue

They are always whining about the poor and downtrodden. Let them pay for their birth control.
Never happen, they're too busy - bossing everyone else around

Instead of giving the money to him, they should just buy endless supplies of birth control.

But I truly wish that Planned Parenthood could be separated somehow so that funds for women's healthcare could be separated from abortion services. They offer SUCH important services for women, i.e., gynecological care and birth control services, but I also understand why pro-lifers don't think that taxpayer dollars should be spent for abortions.

Wouldn't you think something could be done? Why does it have to be an all or nothing proposition?
Cheaper for gov't to pay for an abortion than to pay for a baby. - nm

I would be interested in hearing from someone who supports Romney/Ryan explain to me why if this party is so hell-bent on stopping abortion why they do not support access to birth control? Instead, they want to defund Planned Parenthood (BTW only about 2% of their services are abortion related)pass a personhood amendment giving constitutional rights to an embryo, stop certain kinds of birth control, and do not want to educate on the matter. This absolutely makes no sense to me whatsoever. No snarky answers please. I truly would like to understand this dichotomy of thought.

What we need is a birth control pill for men. - nm

""Here we go again with the "accessible'" faux comments - BC or PP couldn't be any more accessible

not to mention the free clinics all over the place. But, you still got the die-hards that love to beat this horse. You want to screw around, pay for you own birth control. Now, the you-know-who's wil get on here and list 3780 pages of everything else birth control pills do - yeah, we all know about the very small percentage of users reflected in that group.

New Flash - Pills, if you do not get them for free, can be purchased and/or mailed directly to your door in the neighborhood of $10/month. Thanks to Obamacare, colleges are increasing their healthcare to cover this "lifestyle choice" by over $600.00 a year ($50.00 A MONTH) to cover a service you used to be able to get for free at PP.

Obama's lack of understanding anything economic underscored AGAIN.

Boy, you sure group every women together - don't you? SM

[ In Reply To ..]
What is this "lifestyle"? Married women having sex with their husbands is a "lifestyle"? You know, the poor folk married people. Their lifestyle. At this moment, many states are trying their best to push legislature to stop some forms of birth control and are trying to defund Planned Parenthood, where many women go to get health care and birth control. If you are against abortion, why are you against insurance covering birth control? IT seems like this would be something you would want to happen and have it be as easy as possible. What is the problem? People having sex outside of marriage? Is this the lifestyle you are talking about?

no but you do - your usual faux outrage, personal attacks

Hobby Lobby does not want to pay for someone's abortion - this is about abortion folks, not about birth control......and it is about freedom to follow one's religious beliefs - do we prevent a certain other religion from taking time off for prayers during the day?  No - because we don't want to infringe upon someone's religion - but somehow because it is the Christian faith in this case - we think it's wrong for them to ask to practice their faith?  This issue ...

Abortion. Can We Really Afford To Be Wrong?Sep 05, 2012
My personal journey to an answer for this difficult question has been neither one of religious discovery nor a form of moral evolution.  It is this conclusion--which, while difficult to come to for me personally as a former pro-choice advocate, has been as inescapable as it has been wrenching: It isn't necessary to argue religion.  It isn't necessary to examine moral systems of thought.  From a purely scientific and medical standpoint, there is absolutely no point in th ...
