1944: 18-year-olds storm beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

This is how far we have come since the Greatest Generation.;
Because of wimpy parents - Who praise them for breathing in and out
[ In Reply To ..]
This kids are spineless because they inherited no backbone from their modern parents. "Boo-hoo. A Mexican took a job away from my kid"--a job their kid wouldn't do anyway because it isn't in a air-conditioned office.
So sad, but true - Amazing to see so many "cupcakes"

that Liberals have spawned. Wait until they get into the real world. Their heads are gonna explode.
LIBERALS??? - They're ALL like that!
[ In Reply To ..]
This is something that crosses all party lines. Parents coddle their kids mostly out of their own vanity and because they're afraid their kids won't like them. If your kid has to get a summer job, you are "mean." If your kid has to pay for some of their own clothes you are "selfish" and want your money all for yourself. If your kid is supposed to contribute to the household by taking out the garbage, you are making them do *your* work and are mean besides. I was a liberal who became a conservative and was "mean" all the way no matter which way I leaned politically. And guess what? My kids are all educated with jobs and apparently have forgotten how mean I was. The bad part is despite all that I can see them starting down the same permissive road as their friends with kids and have to keep my mouth shut.
These little snowflakes have signed a petition to - make HRC president.
[ In Reply To ..]
Supposedly they are sending it to the "electoral college"
There is no such organization as the “U.S. Electoral College.” Who are they sending this petition to? Each candidate for president submitted along with its filing with the secretary of state of each state a slate of persons to be named electors in the event the candidate is successful. Upon certification of election by the secretary of state of each state, they will notify the persons listed on the winning slate that they should attend the electoral college in their state capitol on December 19, 2016 to cast their votes for president and vice-president. Historically, fewer than 1/538 of electors betray their candidate in any election, Even if 10% of Trump’s electors were to defect it would not change the outcome of the election.
Yahoo propaganda otherwise known as news is fueling this. - I'm beginning wonder if Soros

is involved.
This is the education these kids which equals NONE - Truthhurts

What makes this so sad is that these kids don't know a thing about how our government works and I didnt know whethere to laugh or cry when I read about the petition. Whoever started that petition is making a fool out of themselves and those who signed it.
I hope everyone is aware that not all the popular vote is in yet. What if Trump gets even more of the popular vote and leads in that vote? What are these protesters going to complain about then?
As for the electoral college, half the states have a law that if the individuals do NOT vote the people's choice, they can be fined up to $10,000 (depending on the state). I do believe that keeps them pretty honest. LOL

Help! My Car Got Wet In A Storm!Jul 15, 2010We had a pop-up storm the other day and unbeknownst to me, my car windows were down! Now I have this horrible sour smell in my car, it is nauseating literally! Any ideas on how I can get this smell out? The seats feel dry as does the carpet for the most part. I've been leaving the windows down during the day and spraying Lysol, but the smell is still there! Can anyone help me? Thanks :) ...

Perfect Storm Of Car ProblemsJun 27, 2012Hello: just having a mini breakdown about car problems. My van is in the shop and I have to pay $500 deductible for repairs from an accident.
The real issue though is my sister's and my niece's cars. My sister's car needs about $945 in repairs. My niece's car is basically blown engine an not salvageable. They want help to repair their cars, and I told them no. This is a long story but I can not help them, and it does make me sad but I have my own money woes. My niece i ...
Another Storm May Impact The Area Nov 02, 2012Just in time for election day.
It is not out of the question that voters will deal with torrential rainfall and high winds across the Carolinas and portions of Virginia. People heading to the polls in Charleston and Columbia, S.C., Wilmington, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C., and Norfolk, Va., may deal with the messy weather.
Rain and wind could then spread northward across much of the I-95 corridor, including in Portland, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., ...
Winter Storm PreparationsJan 21, 2016So, here in the south, when ever we have winter storm forecast everyone rushes to store and stocks up on french toast infredients (milk, eggs, bread). The grocery shelves will be literally bare. Its sort of bizarre.
I always thought it was strange to stock up on milk, eggs, and bread, rather than other things.
What do you stock up on when winter weather is forecast?

Storm Warning By Billy Graham Jul 17, 2010I can't put this book down. I had been wanting to review some prophecy connected with recent events like 911, Haiti, earthquakes, hurricanes, economic disasters, etc., but I wanted something of substance. I was so tempted to buy a couple that sounded dramatic and exciting, but after thinking about them for a few days, they looked more like sensationalism. This one goes right to the scriptures. I'm off to read more of it. ...
Let's Get Back To Benghazi. Sandy Was A Storm.Oct 30, 2012As I predicted, Obama (and his sycophants) would LOVE Sandy because it would take Benghazi off the front page. However newsworthy Sandy might be, it has relatively little relevance to anyone's decision with respect to the coming elections. Anyone can collect food, and anyone can fly around in Air Force One looking like the big cheese after a natural disaster. These things mean absolutely nothing.
The Benghazi scandal, on the other hand, is a thumbnail sketch of the genera ...
2-year-old Kentucky Girl Accidentally Killed By Her 5-year-old Brother May 01, 2013"A 2-year-old Kentucky girl was accidentally killed by her 5-year-old brother who fired a rifle he had been given as a gift, officials said Wednesday."

New Year's EveJan 01, 2011Another year has come and gone. We ended up going to the movies to see the Little Fockers. It was pretty funny. We went to the grocery store beforehand to pick up some snacks for today and then grabbed dinner at a fast food place the kids picked.
Overall, it was a pretty good evening. I went to bed about 11:30 (I tried but could not stay awake), but the kids stayed up till a little after 12 with DH. After that, they went off to bed.

It's A New Year And I Just Want To Cry...Jan 01, 2015I'm the parent of a toddler, no other kids. I'm 42 and she just turned 3. My husband is at home too, but he is disabled from physical issues as well as mental ones. I was a stay-at-home transcriptionist way before I became a mother and I am overwhelmed with it all. My husband is there for us maybe 50% of the time, which just isn't cutting it. He is my only source of support, as we have no family, no friends (thank you isolating career move), and we ju ...

It looked the same as it always does. I had to make him leave and go get on the bus and I felt awful having him leave upset.

New Year's Traditions? Dec 26, 2013Anyone have any specific traditions they do New Year's Eve or NY Day?
Both of those days vary for us as we've gotten older. NY Eve we USED to do it up big, get all duded up, go to a banquet hall, dance, ring in the New Year with Champagne, leave after midnight. These days, we just go out for a quiet dinner with friends, or do a little thing at someone's house. Staying up until after midnight is optional for us these days, but we've been doing pretty good ringing it in.

How Is It Possible That A 76-year-old WomanFeb 13, 2014Yeah, it's my mother. Maybe that says it all. She has told me she wishes she could change how she and my father parented my brothers and me when we were growing up. In the 60s and 70s nobody really thought about how to parent. They just did it, good and bad, so I'm dealing with the fallout of their choices just like every other person alive. I think we've had the normal ups and downs, although my mother has been and continues to be a very critical, judgmental person, not jus ...
15-year-old Boy With AneurysmMar 30, 2015A friend of ours, 15-year-old Alex Pearson from Nashville, TN, suffered an ruptured aneurysm after a rare slow brain bleed (about 3 weeks) on March 18th. He has undergone craniotomy to stop the bleed, and has had most of his skull removed on both sides b/c of brain swelling. He was brought out of his coma last week and after three hours of no brain function and being told he was brain dead, his mother and brothers and sisters left the hospital and headed to church to pray with the youth group ...
Ahh, Retirement In One YearMar 11, 2016Okay, so I got out of MT 3 years ago (for obvious reasons), took a nice little part time job answering telephones for a mom & pop business. I plan on retiring completely in one year, and am trying to get ideas on what you plan on doing (or are doing) in retirement. Or, heck, even if you have many years ahead of you in terms of needing to work-work, I'm open to ideas.
I am thinking of volunteer work. I do know that I don't want to sit around and watch movies all day.

Ten-year Anniversary Gift Nov 11, 2009In December, my significant other (BF sounds so young) and I will have been together 10 years. We are both 51 and basically get anything we want when we want it. He is not the type to wear jewelry except his college ring and a watch (which I got him 5 years ago) and he has anything and everything for his favorite college team. I was thinking about doing a collage of pictures from the trips we have taken in our 10 years together in a nice picture frame, but not sure. He is ...
