how do you get rid of cats?

No, I don't mean putting them in a sack with a brick and throwing them in a river... but how do you keep them from hanging around your home?

My next door neighbor has started putting food out for strays and now there are 3 half grown kitten-cats that are hanging around not just her apartment, but mine too. Yesterday I sat down my groceries on my front step while I got my key out and they were nosing around my bags. Then when a few minutes later when I went to take out trash, they followed me all the way to the trashbin and back.

Does anyone still make a repellant? Years ago I had one called "Cat Skidoo" which worked.

open their door at 2 a.m. and their dogs would run onto my property and "do their business." I reported this to the authorities and they said that unless I had a picture of it happening, then there was nothing they could do about it. I put up with that for 2 years before I finally relocated.

No I don't mean throw it in their face for those cat lovers out there. If there is a problem with them pooping or peeing in front of your door or your space, I have heard that sprinkling cayenne pepper in the area will make them want to go somewhere else. As far as them following you to the trash, there isn't much you can do. Try talking to the landlord. Strays can carry disease, not to mention the unsanitary poop and pee. Maybe the landlord doesn't know what is going on and doesn't want stray cats coming around either.

Simply that the kittens were coming over looking for food. And as far as strays carry diseases, the illnesses that cats get are common only to other cats, not humans.

My furries are inside as animals are not supposed to roam loose in our neighborhood. Having said this, my next door neighbor has 2 furries that love to come into our yard. We do absolutely nothing about them- my hubby says they keep down the rodents. You should think along the same lines. What you are saying about the furries sniffing and around your bags- they did not attack you, did they?

I think it is just you. I talk about my furries all the time and these happen to be cats. I do animal rescuing and would you be also annoyed that if we have babies with the mother we just refer to the mother dog as Mama? I guess it just comes with people who happen to think good about their furry friends.

And there's nothing wrong with a cat lover feeding strays. Why should the cats suffer from malnutrition or starve simply because somebody didn't want them anymore and abandoned them to whatever horrible fate my fall their way.

What about not wanting other people's noisy, runny- - nosed little kids hanging around?

First, try talking to the parents. If they don't want to cooperate, then you might need to speak to the courts and ask what your rights are. Be totally honest and explain how you have spoken with the parents and X-Y-Z was the result.

The strays are always teasing them on the outside of the fence. The foxes in our neighborhood take care of the stray cats. Don't see too many cats since the foxes have taken over.

The least offensive thing you can do is keep a spray bottle with water. Keep it near your front door, or if your purse is large enough carry it on you. As soon as the little dickens start scurrying around you, just give a few sprays in their direction. If it happens enough, they'll stop bothering you.

I'm a cat lover and I used it whenever one of the cats jumped on my table or counter top. It took a long time, but they got the message. Now, all I have to do is pick up the bottle and they'll do a 20-yard dash.

I have 3 kitties and the youngest is a mess- have done everything to keep her from off tables including getting scat mats, aluminum foil, the pepper powder, swatting with fly swatter- I love her but I could just pull that little fluffy head off sometimes. I like you feed animals. Let them come in my yard and they get fed. I only have cat food but somehow the doggies like it too. I figure they must be lost or else they would not be running around.

about having a stubborn kitty, but try the spray bottle. It probably won't put a permanent end to the problem, but s/he will definitely learn to associate the two ... kitty on water table (and you see them) equals a spritz of cold water.

As far as the dogs being lost, I don't think so. My guess is their owners are probably letting them run around the neighborhood.

community associated neighborhood, against the rules here so anytime I see an animal in my yard I try to feed. As far as I know, the only people who donâ��t try to keep their animals in are the neighbors next door and I know what their pets look like.

Usually my 3 cats come running when I give them treats. This morning 2 showed up, where is the other one? I have looked all through the house. Over the years my cats have been on different dry and canned foods: Science Diet, expensive stuff from the vet that I can't recall the name of right now, etc. One of my babies has some allergies, resulting in sneezing and some colon issues. Ok, maybe not shaving my cat but here is the rundown. I have 4 cats, 2 with extremely long furry coats and they shed so much that I am almost drowning in fur. We've been taking care of a feral cat for 2 years. She finally trusts us enough that we can pet her. She surprised us with 4 kittens 9 weeks ago. Besides taking the vacuum cleaner and sucking these brats up in the cleaner, how can I do this. Every morning bright and early, around 6 or so, they stand outside my bedroom door and meow for their breakfast. We recently had new carpeting put in. We have 6 inside cats, none ever sprayed in the house until now, and now they all are. They just back up to a wall and/or a cabinet and let go. This is not a bladder infection problem, just an attitude problem from what I am reading. Has anyone had any luck in reversing this type of behavior? I am an animal lover and am all for making them comfortable in the summer months, but please keep in mind that an animal's coat/fur PROTECTS them from the heat/sun. By shaving them to the skin, you are just setting them up to get even hotter outdoors and possibly burn their skin. We live in a neighborhood and a lot of cats come and go through our yard. For the past 4 years or so a neighbors cat has been a constant visitor. During the cold winter nights she would come over and sleep in the boxes with blankets and an outdoor pet heating pad. She also would eat here too when she was not at her own place.
