Over the years my cats have been on different dry and canned foods: Science Diet, expensive stuff from the vet that I can't recall the name of right now, etc. One of my babies has some allergies, resulting in sneezing and some colon issues. But overall they are healthy cats.
A new Pet Club opened next door to the Wal-Mart, and I have been buying dry food there in large (30 lb. or so) bags to save some money. Plus they have a $5 off coupon on the back of the Fry's receipts...
Anyway, the sales people there tried to sell me this stuff called Instinct, but it was a little more expensive and I went with the cheaper foods (buying 2 brands, an "expensive" one and a cheaper one, and mixing them together in about a 4:1 ratio).
Finally, last month I broke down and bought a bag of Instinct (as the more expensive food) and the usual cheaper food for an extender.
The changes in my cats are nothing short of PHENOMENAL! Coats are so shiny you almost need shades to look at my black cat. :) Both cats have the shiniest fur you ever saw, with those little white areas (healthy skin) where the fur divides, like a mink coat. Shedding is decreased, which means fewer coughing of hairballs AND fewer mats in my long-haired cat. Poop is smaller and less frequent, which means not as much smell or scooping (which also saves on cat litter). Both cats have increased energy and they just seem "happier" -- even though they were already spoiled rotten! I have stopped giving them the omega-3 supplement that I had them on because frankly, on this food they don't need it.
Because of the above, after going through the first bag of Instinct I bought another bag. This time I went with the Rabbit formula (sales girl explained that rabbit protein is something they don't get so don't have allergies to it). I still just can't get over how healthy these cats look and act!
Instinct has no grains in it, and grains are what cause your pets to gain weight (leading to diabetes), and many develop allergies to them. Read the ingredients of most dry pet food, and the primary/first ingredient usually listed is "corn." That's because it's CHEAP. I still have the less expensive food that contains grains that I mix with the Instinct, but they are only getting a nominal amount of it.
I have contacted the company, and they sent me a coupon to use at the Pet Club near me. As long as I can afford it I will keep my babies on this miracle food!
DISCLAIMER: I don't work for the company or anything.... I'm just kind of excited so just had to share! I hope this post helps fellow cat owners here. :)
