Why do my cats do this?

Usually my 3 cats come running when I give them treats. This morning 2 showed up, where is the other one? I have looked all through the house. Where in the world do kitties go when they just want to be alone, a kittie retreat? If they do not want to be found, usually that is what happens. I have looked in every nook and cranny, behind TVs, behind furniture. I know that kitty was just here this morning. He sits outside my bedroom door each morning until I appear. Now poof!

I had one do that one time when I had movers bringing some furniture home that had been in storage. The front door had been propped open for maybe a minute when my back was turned, but at the end of it, I couldn't find one of the cats. I didn't actually find him again until the next day and he worried the daylights out of me. He was just uber freaked out by both the strange people in the house and the new furniture.

Every once in a while I think they just pull a Greta Garbo and want to be alone. I've had mine do that from time to time. They manage to find the farthest spot in the closet that they have to burrow into or under. I finally found Lucky on the closet floor hiding underneath the skirts of all my dresses.

I know what you mean. I'll look and look and look and then out of nowhere, he'll come sauntering down the hall like nothing's wrong!

Right now though - I can tell you exactly where to find my cat. We don't have our Christmas tree up yet but my son has his tree up in his room. Kitty likes to lay on the tree skirt underneath the twinkling lights and sleep. I have to say he is a beautiful cat - especially with Christmas lights surrounding him!

Could he have gotten out? I have 3 of my own too that are indoors, son has one and 1 on the outside. Have you checked the dryer. I am paranoid about this especially if someone else may have accidentally shut the kitty up in there. I had a friend that this happened to. Mine hide when they do not feel good too. Maybe in a closet. Oh I hope you find your kitty. Let us know.

I had put some clothes in the dryer this morning so of course I was most concerned. I have 3 kitties and always try to be safe with them. Man from heater company also came so there again watching the doors, etc. Where ever he was, decided to come on out later on and I have no clue where he was most of the day. I am going to beat that darn kitty!

I'm convinced, from years of having cats and having them utterly disappear inside the house, that cats are capable of bending time and space, and that they regularly jump over to a parallel universe. Then, come back at feeding time. :-)

LOL. I had cats when I was younger and I believe that. I also believe that they, along with dogs and men, have the capacity for selective hearing. I can sit here and call one of my dogs over and over and be ignored. I'll try again, throwing in a word like "treat" or "food" and it gets their attention immediately. Amazing.

Oh, I only have to whisper words such as "fool around" or whatever and that gets his attention quickly. :-) I do remember back when we were still newlyweds, he was in the navy and he was out to sea for 3 months, back for 3 months. Well we started trying to get pregnant and I waited the required 6 months and had an eval with a female physician's assistant who asked me how often we did it. I didn't think there was anything wrong with being honest, I mean, we *were* newlyweds for a long time because he was gone so much. I said "About 3 times a day" and she did a double take and stare. I thought that was normal. LOL. We've been married over 18 years now and needless to say, have slowed down a bit. ;-)

I do think our male pug has watched us too much. He was just shy of 2 when we got Maggie and we couldn't breed her until she had undergone 1-2 heat cycles (she looked so cute in a Huggies and T-shirt). Well, Bumper, how can I say this? He does it like a human rather than a dog. I think I'd probably embarrass too many people if I explained this, but humans have one way of doing it and dogs have another and now Bumper tries it "human style" and only ends up falling off her back (if ya wanna know the difference, you can send me an E-mail. LOL. I didn't know they had a different method until I started trying to breed). Anyway, now it would probably help if she had orifices in her hip, head and side too. Poor guy. He's gotten so clumsy since his hip surgery. We are going to get her spayed soon anyway. They say you shouldn't breed the females past age 6. It's a shame. She's show quality. He's not but has excellent pug features.

Over the years my cats have been on different dry and canned foods: Science Diet, expensive stuff from the vet that I can't recall the name of right now, etc. One of my babies has some allergies, resulting in sneezing and some colon issues. Ok, maybe not shaving my cat but here is the rundown. I have 4 cats, 2 with extremely long furry coats and they shed so much that I am almost drowning in fur. We've been taking care of a feral cat for 2 years. She finally trusts us enough that we can pet her. She surprised us with 4 kittens 9 weeks ago. Besides taking the vacuum cleaner and sucking these brats up in the cleaner, how can I do this. Every morning bright and early, around 6 or so, they stand outside my bedroom door and meow for their breakfast. I have tried sitting out food late of a night so maybe that will carry them over until I want to get up and it is not 6 in the morning. We recently had new carpeting put in. We have 6 inside cats, none ever sprayed in the house until now, and now they all are. They just back up to a wall and/or a cabinet and let go. This is not a bladder infection problem, just an attitude problem from what I am reading. Has anyone had any luck in reversing this type of behavior? I am using "guaranteed" sprays to clean and discourage them but it is still happening. They do still use their litter boxes somewhat, but not as much as usual. Thanks ...

We have stray cats that come around our neighborhood and we've been feeding them. I know, I know, a mistake, but they were little kittens at the time mostly and so cute. I am an animal lover and am all for making them comfortable in the summer months, but please keep in mind that an animal's coat/fur PROTECTS them from the heat/sun. By shaving them to the skin, you are just setting them up to get even hotter outdoors and possibly burn their skin. Do you have an elderly kitty that tends to yowl a lot for no reason? My 14-year-old cat is happy, healthy, (been to vet not too long ago, also had a dental), and yet she some times yowls for what appears to be no reason. I want to move 2000 miles and have 2 cats. Do not want to subject them to air travel. I know the vet can provide a sedative, but I don't know what to expect from it. We live in a neighborhood and a lot of cats come and go through our yard. For the past 4 years or so a neighbors cat has been a constant visitor. During the cold winter nights she would come over and sleep in the boxes with blankets and an outdoor pet heating pad. She also would eat here too when she was not at her own place.
