any one ever buy college books from cheapbooks.com? sm

I signed up for a couple of classes for the Spring semester and looking around on the internet, I found the books are cheaper on the internet than at the college. (And the books at the college are used also). Just wondered if anyone ever did this and had an ok experience with it.

have not used cheapbooks .. Amazon experience was good -- just be SURE you have the right version and watch your shipping times. Have to order early for the book/media mail ...

I found Barnes & Noble online to be generally cheaper than Amazon, particularly since I pay the $25 a year to be a member. Make sure you check shipping costs too.

Also, Albris.com is also good, though they're generally used and they do charge shipping but some book prices are less than half or more, particularly science texts. This comes in handy when the new price is $100-150.

I haven't heard of cheapbooks but will check them out this semester.

We've been renting text books for our daughter. The college book store told us at freshman orientation about their buy-back program at the end of the semester - what a crock that was. Didn't even get a third of what we paid for some of the books. We rent from bookrenter.com. There are some we had to get from the book store at school but the total price was much less than had we bought all new. They also provide a shipping label to send the books back for nothing via UPS.

I appreciate all the information you all gave me, which websites to check out, etc. I did fine a biology book that I will be needing on ebay for $52, half of what I would pay at the bookstore on campus. I was in college 14 years ago and I remember that the bookstore doesn't give much back on your books you buy from them, and then sometimes they discontinue that book and then you're out of luck altogether.

I signed both of my boys up today for classes at the community college. Thank goodness I have a Pell grant for both of them that pays most of their tuition because books for 6 classes cost $800!!!!! Yes I said 800, that was not a typo for only six classes. Luckily, the 7th class my son already had the book from his previous calc class and they are using the same book this semester. Is anyone into the Twighlight movies/books. I've been looking on the Internet but I'm confused as to how many series there are and what is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. Have you read the books or seen the movies and which do you prefer. I have completed the FAFSA and my daughter was able to get a very small unsubsidized loan, but not even enough to cover one semester. I will try the suggestion of the forum.
