Twisted, know nothing about the "professor," but of course - Coulter isn't up to standard. No matter

how enjoyable one found her hatmongering, surely it has to be recognized for what it is. I mean, really, however much you like this stuff in secret, you don't actually quote her in public, do you?

"If you wanted to teach people about the great things about America, a college campus is the last place youâd send them. Even fanatical Muslim terrorists donât hate America like liberals do."

(talking to a disabled Vietnam vet) "People like you caused us to lose that war." (Got her banned from a network)

"Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots, and on the matter of Americaâs self-preservation, the difference is irrelevant."

"Like so many liberal icons, Marx seldom bathed and left his wife and children in poverty. As Schlafly says, no wonder liberal women think men are pigs: Their men are pigs."

âThe Democratic Party supports criminals and Islamic terrorists but has no sympathy for taxpayers.â

âNo matter what argument you make against evolution, the response is Well, you know, it's possible to believe in evolution and believe in God. Yes, and it's possible to believe in Spiderman and believe in God, but that doesn't prove Spiderman is true.â

"I have to say I'm all for public flogging. One type of criminal that a public humiliation might work particularly well with are the juvenile delinquents, a lot of whom consider it a badge of honor to be sent to juvenile detention. And it might not be such a cool thing in the 'hood to be flogged publicly."

"The Great Satan is wearying of this reverse hegemony, in which little pipsqueak nations try to impose their pipsqueak values on us. Aren't we the ones who should be arrogantly oppressing countries that unaccountably do not have the death penalty?"

Getting pretty fed up here with people putting down a site that leans more conservative, yet praising liberal sites. Daily caller bad, Huff post good. Fox News bad, MSNBC good. O'Reilly bad, Matthews good. And the list goes on and on with the snotty sarcastic "come on" and other message of like.

Here's a news flash for ya....Nothing wrong with Daily Caller, Nothing wrong with a lot of conservative leaning news sites, just like nothing wrong with Huff or other liberal leaning sites.

Oh, and on top of that you add nothing to the discussion being talked about. Just a drive by with a snarky comment. Go figure.

my kids to college in this day and age. They don't need to be indoctrinated. Maybe a tech/trade school or a private school.

Political indoctrination - bootstraps

[ In Reply To ..]
I was confident when I raised my kids that if I taught them right from wrong and a basic set of morals, let them learn from their mistakes, and not shame or demean them emotionally, that they would be equipped to enter the real world whether it be in college or an occupation, then support their choice of paths and encourage them to follow their ambitions.

We have to trust ourselves as parents that we did the best we could to prepare out children for adulthood.

And then we can trust our children to use what we taught them as a foundation enter the real world as adults.

I hope this link helps to ease your mind.

Entering the "real world" - sm

to me, does not start until after schooling. Sending an 18-year-old to a college/university where the political and social indoctrination by professors and peers for four years? Asking for trouble. A good foundation is crucial but not failsafe.

Did you note the study in the same article? - backwards typist

[ In Reply To ..]

From your article (not my opinion but their opinion):

A funny thing, though. Look at the actual results published in the study:

Political Orientation of Private College Students

Far Left   Liberal      Moderate    Conservative    Far Right

First year student (1999)    1.6%      23.3%      46.8%       26.0%            1.3%

Seniors (2003)                 3.6%      29.1%      42.8          23.6%             0.9%

18-24 cohort in U.S.          5.3%      28.7%      38.3%       23.4%             2.1%

The changes here strike me as more than “slight shifts.” The number of students self-identifying as “far left” more than doubles while the “far right” cohort drops nearly a third. There’s a ten percent drop in conservatives and a 25 percent jump in liberals. That’s hardly insignificant.

If I posted it, I read it. - bootstraps

I'm capable of differentiating a site I posted and your opinion.

Interpreting the results is subjective and it's my opinion that an attempt to discuss our respective subjective interpretations is most likely futile.

what that should tell you... - sm

...is that leaning to the far right tends to become less intellectually sustainable as one's education advances. It's not a plot.

Let the students find their own way. - RC

Send them to college, let them be "indoctrinated" and let them find their own way. Isn't that just a part of life? Do we have to be afraid of EVERYTHING?

I've Been Wondering About The Conspiracy Theory Mindset.Feb 06, 2013
And found some interesting info from a fairly recent study about it. Belief in Conspiracies Linked to Machiavellian Mindset Know any conspiracy theorists? No doubt they’ve tried to convince you that man didn’t really land on the moon or President Obama was born in Kenya. In fact, they were imparting genuinely interesting information — about themselves. New research suggests belief in such theories may reveal a Machiavellian mindset. “At least ...

College Books Jan 10, 2012
I signed both of my boys up today for classes at the community college.  Thank goodness I have a Pell grant for both of them that pays most of their tuition because books for 6 classes cost $800!!!!!  Yes I said 800, that was not a typo for only six classes.  Luckily, the 7th class my son already had the book from his previous calc class and they are using the same book this semester.  I could not believe that they told me that one of the books I could buy a new one for $157 ...

Paying For CollegeFeb 06, 2016
First, it would be means-tested.  No assistance would be offered to families who don't need it, and for those eligible for assistance, the amount would be based on the level of need.   Families at the poverty level would receive the greatest assistance and the amount would decrease as the family income level increases until hitting the "wealthy"cutoff of no assistance. Second, assistance would be based on the residual need AFTER taking into account scholarships or grants, if ...

Daughter Starting CollegeApr 27, 2013
Hello all - my daughter will be starting college in the fall and we are in the process of trying to find financial aid. Does anyone have info on how to get grants? Is there usually a family income max that would allow/disallow anyone from getting a grant? I know I will need to talk to the college's financial aid office but any info that can be passed along would be appreciated. We already completed the FAFSA and my daughter got a small loan through that, but she was not awarded any gran ...

The Unraveling Of Jane Sanders' Burlington CollegeJul 22, 2017
Sanders, wife of 2016 presidential candidate and Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, described herself when she was hired in 2004 as a "turnaround president." She orchestrated the college's move from a small, cramped campus to an expansive lakefront property in 2010. The sprawling green would give students space to relax. The small private college could have built dorms, townhouses and single homes on the 32-acre property. Some property could have been leased, perhaps to a restaurant or caf ...
