Sick now - and have to take a few days off

Great, there go my savings. I THINK I'm going to doctor on Monday - hate driving there, 'cause it's low-income clinic far away from me, so I would hate for my car to break down, on top of being sick, besides having to miss work next week BECAUSE I NEED A FRICKIN BREAK.

Should I just put off going to the doctor, keep working, not getting sleep, and then put myself in the hospital? I'm not young anymore. Not that I didn't get sick all the time when I was younger.

I can't work this dumb job 5 days a week, I just can't. Physically, I can't do it. I wish I had gotten around to asking for a 4-day-a-week schedule sooner. Maybe I wouldn't be sick now.

Is it Monday yet, 'cause I can hardly wait. This dumb no benefits low-paying job, 'cause I wanted to get into daycare! What the HELL was I thinking?

I would probably skip the drive Monday if I thought what I had is viral anyway, unless you know you need some meds and they won't call them in for you. Would definitely take some time off either way and get some rest. I am on a 4-day schedule myself now, and would not go back to 5 days for the world, at least not in MT.

I have never seen anyone here mention getting a roommate to help defray costs...has anyone tried that, I wonder? Is it something you have considered? Good luck!

what the heck. if I didn't have a nasty rash then I would probably not go. A toddler stuck his grubby hands down my shirt, and that's just where my rash is!!!!!!!!!!!! Supposedly the kid had a viral infection, of which his rash (all over his abdomen) was a noncontagious part. Um-hum. Then when I worked Friday, this other toddler girl hit me right in that spot! Why?????? Yes, toddlers are fascinated by boobies. I'm afraid of having a Staph aureus skin infection or something dire like that.

are not doing all the cooking and cleaning. Guess you are though, with the parents to take care of. I have been/am in a similar position, but at least it has been 1 parent at a time, and my husband does a lot now that he is retired.

I do hope you can get some rest and feel better soon.

I am submitting a prayer request for my sick mother-in-law. She has only had one kidney for many years now. Recently, she was taken to the hospital to have a large kidney stone removed. (It required surger.) Her kidney functionality went from 30%to 10% in one week. I believe she will have to start immediate dialysis. I am worried and sad. Okay, so I've got a tumor in my parotid gland that needs to be excised. I am celebrating 30 days of sobriety. I've been off benzos and booze for 30 days now and feeling okay. Anyone have any suggestions how to interview well. I just suck at interviews. I look great on paper but I think I either tend to be too jokey or too serious/scared/timid.
