Sick of it! sm

Posted: Sep 11, 2011

The attacks on president Obama are not something new from the republican party. President Clinton was subjected to the same rabid persecution from Whitewater to Monica Lewinsky, anything to dismantle his presidency.  Thankfully he prevailed and is still respected for his accomplishments and his statemenship.  In the case of Clinton vs Obama, republicans eventually caught Clinton in a compromising position with Monica thus revealing his weak points, sex and women.  In the case of president Obama, they dug just as deep and came up with nothing.  He was squeaky clean, a loving husband, good father and family man.  Hence, we had the naysayer republicans trying to find something, anything, to discredit him, he was born in Kenya, he was a MUSLIM, his passport and birth certificate a fraud, not really an American.  Even when proposing bipartisan ideas formerly supported by conservatives and republicans, he is constantly shot down time before the details are even released.  Most of the time the response  is no, no, no, we just want to defeat you in 2012 no matter what lies and dirty tricks need to be employed regardless of what is good for our country.  It is time for the fools to get out of Dodge and allow the president to do his work and stop the blockade in Congress.  I know his blackness is a large part of it, no doubt in my mind, but any democratic president in the future needs to see the stark reality and see the writing on the wall.  The republicans will not work with you or compromise EVER.

Thanks for posting your thoughts and feelings about President Obama and the lack of Republican compromise.

Excuse me, but Obama and the dems were in charge for - his first 2 years... a total DISASTER!

[ In Reply To ..]
His stimulus got passed and did not work at all. He has no clue on how to "recover" anything, just spend more money aimlessly. To blame this on Republicans is laughable... Ha Ha HA!

Not nearly as disastrous as Ws last year - 2.6 million jobs lost in 2008

[ In Reply To ..]
and the economy went into free fall, which he handed off to Obama before slithering off into the sunset. Starting the month after the stimulus was signed, the jobs loss numbers were essentially cut in half, then continued trending downward. Within 7 months, losses turned into gains.

According to Bloomberg, 2010 jobs gains were 1 million. Then the GOP got te house majority and it's been downhill ever since.

Turning a 2.6 million jobs loss into 1 million jobs gain isn't exactly "nothing." These numbers don't lie. Looks like the laugh's on you.

Excuse me, the first 2 years were spent trying to dig out of GWB mess! - smm

[ In Reply To ..]
This country was in such a mess when he came into office from Bush's mess, which by the way was in pretty good shape when Clinton was in office. Spent money on GWB's wars amongst other things created in his hands.

You can't blame it on the democratic congress anymore, the republicans have been in charge for awhile now and things are still bad. What's the reason now. Of course you'll blame it on just Obama, but people can't blame Bush because you throw in that it was a democratic congress then. Like the above poster said, they dig up whatever they can find to make him look bad and if one way doesn't work, you blame someting else. Blaming Obama is laughable. HA HA HA

Obama dug a bigger hole... - MUCH bigger... disastrous

[ In Reply To ..]
You cannot defend his policies. NOTHING he has done has worked. Stimubust is the worst and total waste of money. He is a failure, completely.
2.6 million jobs lost in 2008. - 1 million jobs gained in 2010.
[ In Reply To ..]
Jobs loss numbers were cut in half just one month after the stimulus was signed. Jobs gains slowed to a crawl shortly after Jan 2011. You do the math. This has already been discussed in previous posts and need not be repeated here since any efforts toward that end would be falling on deaf ears.

Your accusations are neither founded in fact or grounded in reality.

That's why they have to make it up as they go along. Good job, oldtimer. You've been awfully quiet lately. Hope to be hearing more from you.

And I'm sick of it - see message

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm sick of hearing the whining "he's being picked on", "you're a racist", "poor Obama" blah, blah, blah. Helloooo, is everyone asleep? It's not him that's being questioned, its the policies that are being made. It's the constant lies. The "I'll work across the isles" then shuts important leaders out of meetings because they don't belong to "his club". It's him telling citizens of other countries that we the American people are selfish and greedy. It's blaming Bush for every single thing that has happened and will happen in the future.

Oh yes, another poor picked on (democrat) President Clinton. Except for one thing. He was never "picked on". Many people like myself didn't care about Monica. He could have had an orgie with 100 women at the same time and I don't care. Don't say I blame him either. HOWEVER, he lied! The lie is what did it. If you had an affair just fess up to it. He's a man for pee's sake. But it's the lies and the coverup and all the other crooked things that went on. He left a disgrace to the office, and you can cover it up all you want. He did more damage to the office than you'll ever admit. You want to talk about "picked on"? I see you didn't mention Bush in your post. No doubt that he was horrendously picked on.

And my dear, nobody is "squeaky clean" you want to believe whatever that's fine, but he's far from "squeaky clean". You can believe anything you want. The facts do not lie.

But the hatred for republican is what truly sickens me and for what reason? None. All the lies and filth they keep spewing toward anyone that doesn't belong to their club (i.e. democrat party). They are a spiteful hateful lying bunch who would vote a dog in office just as long as its not a republican. Well guess what. There are a lot of good republicans and independents in office whether or not you want to believe it. And for every neocon that's infiltrated the republican party there is a communist that has infiltrated the democrat party. And sorry, but no, this country was not, is not, and never will be a communist country. If you want communism so bad people then go live in a communist country cos guess what, ITS NOT HERE!!! If you are so he!!-bent on making this a communist country, just as long as we never have a republican president ever again, then yes, that psychiatrist was 100% right. Liberalism is a mental disorder. And since he has the experience working in that field, he knows what he is talking about. It's the the democrats of the Kennedy's time. It's so far removed that people should be ashamed of what the party has become.

Oh, you don't even want to get me started on "lies and dirty tricks" cos the democrat party has got anyone beat overall. All they do is say no, no, no to any ideas that come from a republican and then scream and cry like children saying that republicans say no no, no. Dirty tricks...oh yeah, I watched the last election. The one between Hillary and Obama was especially dirty. You want to talk about lies, Hillary's got it hands down pat. Loved her faux story of her going in and running and ducking for cover under live amunition. Wow! Now that's got to be the biggest lie. Well that and the lies that they actually care about the people of the country, they are working for the people, they are gonna tax the wealthiest 1%, etc, etc, etc. And I'm really sick of it that there are actually people so stupid they believe it (i.e. "I'm here to get my Obama money" girl. "From his stash".)

I have not once seen any democrats working with the republicans. It's just fight, fight, fight and they're all demons and they are going to starve the elderly and take away their social security, blah, blah, blah. One lie after another.

Your last sentence is wrong. It's the democrats who will not work or compromise with the republican EVER. They've proven it time and time again.

Hear! Hear! - Totally agree!

I was so blasted ticked off reading the falsehoods (to put it mildly) that one sentence didn't come out right.

I meant to write, gone are the democrats of Kennedy's time. Not "It's the the democrats of Kennedy's time".

I was proud to be a democrat when Kennedy was in office. Now I'm ashamed at the whole lot of them. They are no longer for the people. They are there just to enrich themselves. As Pelosi said to incoming fellow democrats that if they weren't a millionaire before they got there, they now will be. All they do is bicker, bicker, bicker, hold up any bills that need to be passed until they get their way. It's the my way or the high way mentality. It's the lets crucify a republican who had an affair, but lets ignore that the democrats that have affairs. It's the lets protest a war under a republican president, but lets support the same war under a democrat president. It's the lets protest the Patriot act under a republican president, but approve of it under a democrat. It's the false accusations of violence against republicans, but when there is a known acts of violence by a democrat that's okay and we'll make any excuse for them. It's the "how dare you paint a Hitler mustache on Obama" and approve of the Hitler mustache painted on Bush. Its the mentality of "Its okay to call anyone not a democrat a Nazi, when in fact the actions of the democrats have been Nazi-like. It's the let's insult anyone not a democrat and smirk about it (Pelosi & Shumar are two that come to mind). Calling people "un-American" if they disagree with being screwed over. And it's the HJ mentality where even family members tell you "If you say anything bad I'm going to report you". When you ask report me to whom they do they go silent.

People have gone insane making false accusations, calling people Nazi's and un-American, saying anything and everything they think they can get away with. People who are just totally lost all sense of reality. What they are accusing republicans of doing is exactly what the democrats are doing.

Meanwhile the people who are really in charge pulling all the strings sit back and enjoy the show of the citizens ripping each other apart.

You should read how the civil war began. It's a real eye opener.

That is so beautiful and spot on. - nm

dems versus repubs - sick of all of this

[ In Reply To ..]
Wasn't it Harry Reid (republican) who said he was not going to help Obama win the election by passing the budget? So you want to talk about games and tricks. Come on now that is all that politics is about, games. Who can get one over on the other. Its both parties playing these games. If Obama is guilty of anything its of not having a back bone and not fighting for the little people and giving into the rich. He could have, and he should have signed in the budget without their approval. He had the power to do it just not the backbone. But he has fallen in the Washington mindset and plays the game at our expense. BOTH SIDES play the game. This is the problem we are not ONE UNDER GOD, we are now three under God and that makes for all this fighting. They are all crooked and all in the pockets of lobbyists and big corporations.

Bush started the bail outs. Why didn't you bring that up. He gave Goldman and Sachs billions to continue with their outlandish vacations, bonuses, etc., while the little people who make their business are forced to take pay cuts so the top can live it up and go buy another mansion to live in. And how much of that money did they have to pay back, wasn't it none????? Obama definitely is a disappointment but Bush ran this country into the ground and took us to war under a lie of mass weapons in Iraq. He sold the American people a false bill of sales when we were vulnerable after 911 as going and getting Bin Laden who he couldn't find but he sure did find Sudam Hussain, who had nothing to do with 911. So he wasn't so lily white either. He had a bigger agenda. Our agenda, was find Bin Laden and make him pay for what he did to our country and our people and how many years did it take to find him, and how many billions of our dollars? What President found him? Bush was the worse president this country has ever had and I wouldn't care if he was a democrat or republican. His two terms hurt this country for many, many years to come.

So show me a poor politician and I will show you an honest politician. Other than that I have no faith in any of them. The selfishness and greed in Washington has got to be stopped regardless. There is enough blame to go around on both sides and now we have the tea party in there to add another belief. Before long this government is going to come to a complete standstill with all of this bickering.
Huh? Surely you meant Mitch McConnell - the REPUBLICAN minority house leader
[ In Reply To ..]
instead of Harry Reid, the DEMOCRATIC senate majority leader. Other than that, I agree with just about all you said.

I would take tiny issue with your last sentence. IMO, the government and the recovery are already at a standstill and have been since the end of January. The only real legislation that has gotten through are traditionally housekeeping measures (budget and debt ceiling) they were forced to act on to avert total economic chaos, despite their strong desire to kill those bills. Though jobs cretion is the most component in economic recovery, I firmly believe the GOP/TP will overlook the human suffering all together and block that process every step of the way. It's too close to the campaign for them to resist the temptation to trigger a double dip and play it for all its worth in 2012. God fobid they ever allow Obama to get credit for anything.

I think it is worth noting that the promoters of big business, big wealth and small goverment have nothing to lose and everything to gain by rendering the legislative branch just as dysfunctional as they possibly can.

Tell ya what. You fringers need to nominate governor big hair, secede from the union, turn the clock back about 70 years, divide that planet of yours spinning around out there in the parallel universe into little plutocratic republistans with tiny autonomous governments, do away with any form of centralized oversight, abolish taxes, and depend on the ubers to manage and finance your wars and all the trappings of modern-day living, like roads, bridges, transportation, health care, housing, education, financial services, jobs creation, national security, national disaster management, and the like. Be sure to take big oil with you. Just don't be too surprised if their first order of business is the establishment of a department of wealth management for themselves and a department of bootstraps for all the rest of the underlings.

[ In Reply To ..]
aimed at the big hair fashion fad from the 60s that never quite disappeared from Texas, the implication being those who sport the look for which Texans are often ridiculed are stuck behind the times. You have to be a bit older to entirely appreciate the humor of its nuance and hidden meanings. It also alludes to the CNN haircuts (as my mom used to call them) from the 80s and 90s, those rookie journalists who landed plumb anchor spots, despite the fact that the only thing they had between their ears was meticulously immaculate grooming and makeup. Perry has been know to wear that from time to time as well.

Breaking news. The legacy of those wars will always belong to W, his party and their descendants (who also own the culture wars, every bit as destructive as their military ventures), no matter how hard you try to personalize it or distance yourself from it. Judging from all your blah, blah, blahs and edgy defense, the sore spot seems to be on your end, not mine. You'll have to do a lot better than a weak war whine to set me off, though I doubt that is a feather that will ever adorn your cap. You can, however, continue to give yourself that contratulatory pat on the back if helps you feel better. Nobody's looking.

Of course big oil, CEOs and Wall Street were the first beneficiaries of the stimulus and bailouts mandated by Ws disastrous economic policies and their subsequent aftermath. The prevailing GOP systemic construct that arises from their plutocratic agendas have made them too big to fail (or so they say. It has turned us all into welfare queens, making the health of our economy contingent upon their continued success, driven by insatible greed and seized at the expense of the ever shrinking middle class, diminished in numbers by their quest for the cheapest labor pools on the face of the earth and dismissed by their incomprehensible sense of hubris and entitlement. The recovery hinges on endorsing and preserving it all, despite the fact that these are the very same entities which brought us to the brink of depression, behind the GOPs most recent deregulation orgie. That's why democrats and some of the more sane and rational republicans (currently living in the diaspora) had to hold their noses when they signed them into law.

Your 1939 quip is just your way of denying ownership for how we got here in the first place. It also shows a complete misunderstanding of the difference between PROgressive and REgressives. I'll give you a couple of clues. Social engineering, that undesirable GOP tendency for which even Gingrich felt compelled to call his own party out. Longing for the good ole days and looking backwards instead of forwards, not only for old failed solutions to the uncharted waters of brand new problems (such as the fellowship of the Reagan-worshipping congregation), but also for an overall world view of what is and is not "patriotic" or "American."

Then there is that return to turn-of-the-century science (20th, not 21st), the heyday of oil drilling wildcatters and blissful ignorance about man-made environmental hazards, climate change and such. Also on their agendas are resurrecting that era's voter suppression practices and white supremacy domains, and their zeal to repeal those "burdensome" advances made by unions...health and safety standards in the workplace, child labor laws, minimum wage, equal pay for women and minorities, the 40-hour work week, overtime pay, vacation and sick days, workers comp, benefits and the right to collectively bargain to maintain a level playing field and a living wage...all early 19th century throwback initiatives.

They are all part of that parallel universe where truth is fiction, fiction is truth and history is something we invent to prop up archaic political ideologies. Citing quacks does not change facts and does nothing to alter these realtime divisions, cultivated by those living on the fringe. Do yourselves and the rest of us a huge favor and put us all out of our misery. Secede.

in two directions. Democrats are not interested in working with Republicans either. I'm sick to death of the whole political "smell." It all stinks. President Obama has done plenty of things to show his unpatriotism for his own country and his unwillingness to do what's right a lot of times and it has nothing to do with his color as you might like to think. I'm sure he is a wonderful husband and father but he's not been a good president. I am neither Democrat or Republican. I vote my conscience and the best person for the job based on his/her ideals and ideas for our country. Obama would have had my vote if he had been anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage but he blew it in both those arenas. I'm color blind so that wasn't an issue. He has hurt our ecomomy and made our country even more anti-Christ and we are a Christian nation...whether anyone likes it or not. You don't have to look far to discredit Obama. He won't get my vote in 2012. The person with high ideals and good ideas for this country will...and I don't care which party they are affiliated with. You're not the only one who's sick of it.

Great, there go my savings.  I THINK I'm going to doctor on Monday - hate driving there, 'cause it's low-income clinic far away from me, so I would hate for my car to break down, on top of being sick, besides having to miss work next week BECAUSE I NEED A FRICKIN BREAK. Should I just put off going to the doctor, keep working, not getting sleep, and then put myself in the hospital?  I'm not young anymore.  Not that I didn't get sick all the time when I was ...

Sick Of CORPORATE EVERYTHING...Jul 20, 2016
now a corporate president, either repub or democ?  Ayn Rand would be very happy... I once had an Indian doctor (whom I admired very much) tell me people from other countries before coming here read "Atlas Shrugged" and Ayn Rand's books.  This is their view of our country.   I read the book and was sickened at the ruthlessness and worship of money as a god...  kind of like, well, now.   ...

Should The Fact That He's Sick And A Vet Make Him Different?Oct 28, 2009
VAN NUYS, Calif. (KABC) -- Like many other soldiers, a Southland-based Iraq war veteran is fighting post-traumatic stress disorder. But he's also facing a bigger battle trying to keep his young family together, as his wife faces deportation. Twenty-six-year-old Army Specialist Jack Barrios can barely talk about the time he served in Iraq. "I'll skip talking about that," he said. But what he can speak about is the battle his family is going through now. His wife, 23-year-old Frances, is ...

The View...anyone Sick Of Joy Behar?Oct 15, 2010
I think it\'s time for Joy Behar to leave the View.  Need some new blood in her slot.  Her humor is based mainly on gay bashing, gossip and put downs to anyone who doesn\'t agree with her.  The view is getting a little stale anyway with the same gals in there too long so she would be a good one to replace, in my opinion.  Any other thoughts from anyone? ...

Very Sad And Sick Right Now. I Hate That At TimesApr 30, 2012
things seem to be going great.  Now they are not.  There was a point I had 2 jobs, but found out I could not do 1 because of software requirements and the other is about to fire me.  The ex has not paid child support at all for this month so that has been started (the ball rolling to get him put in jail).  But now that I have no job again (might as well say) I am not sure what to do.  Just so tired of being paid such poor wages on top of being treated very rudely.  ...

Still Sick - And Can't Volunteer TodayOct 05, 2012
This is only my second time volunteering at this elementary school, and I'm calling in at the last minute that I can't volunteer because I'm sick! I feel I should drag myself in.  But I'm coughing and hacknig and SO painfully congested - MTs, need I go into specifics of my sputum, except to say it's not clear, as it has been all this past week?  So I may even be getting worse.... And then to top it off, my car is 20+ years old...and the oil pressure gauge is ...

Makes Me Totally Sick... SmJan 07, 2013
Excuse me, but this just totally gets my girdle in a pinch.,, My upstairs neighbor is on welfare... but does not need to be and totally abuses this. She worked prior to getting pregnant, as did her husband. When she got pregnant, she had him quit his job at a local hospital, where he had full benefits, to work under the table (to hold her hand, and he is making 3x the money he did). Her parents now pay the rent and other expenses. She had the baby 8 MONTHS AGO. She is still collecting welfare. ...

Prayers Please, Sick HorseFeb 21, 2017
10 years ago we adopted a gentle, loving thoroughbred gelding from a local horse rescue.  He had made his way across the USA from California after racing for 6 years, only making about $110,000.  By the time we adopted him, he was 18 years old and had been either adopted and returned or abandoned many times.  I have never been able to understand why this happened to him, but always felt that God guided him in our direction.  He is 17 hands tall, chestnuit with a white blaze a ...

So Sick Of Rejection...need Advice PleaseApr 24, 2014
Once again, I have tried, applied, and been denied from the local hospital I've been trying to get into for years. I keep seeing the same job postings for the same positions every 3-4 months and apply each time, and update my CL/resume each time as well so it is not just a cookie cutter cut and paste job. Well, I applied online Wednesday morning for a unit clerk position (again), got an email asking me to complete an assessment, which I completed Wednesday night, and now lo and behold Thurs ...

Anyone Sick And Tired Of All The LiesMar 10, 2015
Boy, I would sure love some real truth for a change. I am sick and tired of these excuses and lies that the Democrats give for everything and am sick of Mr. O saying he didn't know till he heard it on the news or it's someone else's fault. That is like my ex-husband blaming me for his wife's children renigging on a loan and him going bankrupt and other things like this he always accused me of. Nothing to do with me at all or our son. Anyway, I am more than ready for a ...

Feeling Guilty About Sick HusbandFeb 28, 2011
My husband had terrible lower back pain and went to the doctor last week and was told he most likely had sciatica. He was given a prescription for hydrocodone/APAP and told he could also use ibuprofen and to try resting and using ice for relief. It has been over a week and my husband is still in pain. I know sciatica can be terrible, but the thing iis that my husband is making no effort to try to get better, at least that's how it seems to me. When I ask him if the hydrocodone is ...

Do ever get the feeling when you're sick...oh never mind...sometimes people just don't even SEE IT...you're being Ms. Capable...so they just don't THINK of you as the "type of person" who gets sick..../ end of rant, off to the cough drops.. ...

The Nocebo Effect: How We Worry Ourselves Sick AsApr 05, 2013
From The New Yorker, April 3, 2013 THE NOCEBO EFFECT: HOW WE WORRY OURSELVES SICK Posted by Gareth Cook Many of us hope to find Wi-Fi wherever we go, preferably for free. But some people devote their lives to avoiding Wi-Fi altogether. Sufferers of Wi-Fi syndrome say that the radio waves used in mobile communication cause headaches, nausea, exhaustion, tingling, trouble concentrating, and gastrointestinal distress, among other symptoms. Some of the most afflicted take drastic action. ...
