Need a bread recipe from pizza dough

Posted: Aug 5, 2012

Does anyone have a recipe for bread using leftover pizza dough? I was given some dough after volunteering at the pizza booth at our carnival and I would like to make bread with it.  I tried doing research on line and I cannot find anything that uses prebought dough.

TIA.

I am assuming you have a yeast dough that is either refrigerated or frozen. I would thaw if frozen or bring to room temp, knead for a few minutes, try forming it into a round ball-shaped loaf, put it on a greased cookie sheet, let it raise until it is double, perhaps score the top, and then bake about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. When it looks like it is getting a little golden brown and smells good, and when you tap the top it sounds a bit hollow, it is done.

Or make buns/dinner rolls out of it.

I like focaccia bread--I will roll out dough for a cookie sheet so that it looks much like a pizza crust, punch some indentations into it with the back of a knife, drizzle on a couple of teaspoons of olive oil, garlic and rosemary, maybe some parmesan cheese, and again, bake for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Yum. I have to go do some baking.

Thanks. I will try one of your recipes. /nm - op

they were going to throw out. It made great bread just when baked in a loaf pan or flat type bread as mentioned by the OP.

Anyone Have A Good Lemon Bread/cake RecipeDec 24, 2009
Okay, just made a lemon bread.  It is moist but not as lemony as I would like.  Safeway makes a good lemony cake (or bread) thing.  So moist and lemony and I'd like to make something similar.  This recipe I just made called for 3/4 c. lemon yogurt and 1 tablepoon lemon rind.  It is moist but not a real lemon flavor (faint lemon flavor).   I tried another recipe using a lemon cake and added a box of lemon pudding.  Again, most but not real lemony.   ...

Need Ideas On How To Do Chicken To Put On A PizzaNov 10, 2009
I'd like to make homemade pizza with chicken and artichokes and fresh tomatoes.  Maybe with a pesto sauce (not sure on pesto or not).  I had a pizza once that had grilled chicken and artichokes and tomatoes and it was really good.  Anyone have any suggestions on how they would prepare chicken to put on a pizza. And do you think pesto would be good or do you think it would throw off the tastes.  ...

Ya Know, Is It Too Much To Ask When I Order Pizza For Delivery With SodaJun 01, 2013
Okay, I know seems like small fries compared to some of the problems here, but dang it I was looking forward to a nice glass of cold pepsi with my pizza. I can't get out so I ordered delivery.  I don't have ice.  Didn't realize I'd have to specify "cold" when I ordered soda.  Silly me, thought a pizza place would know this. So now I sit here with the bottle of pepsi in the freezer hoping it will get cold fast while my pizza is getting cold. Yes, yes, I know ...

Soggy BreadApr 09, 2011
Anyone know how to prevent my bread from getting soggy in my lunch?  I pack a lunch in a regular insulated lunch bag, using an ice pack to keep my stuff cool.  It doesn't seem to matter what kind of sandwich I pack or whether or not I leave my sandwich unassembled, my bread is soggy when I take it out of the plastic bag.  If I don't put in a plastic bag, it gets dry.  Any suggestions? ...

What Type Of Bread Is Okay??Aug 19, 2012
Hi all, I'm trying to be healthy lately. I've lost 18 pounds just being good.  Part of my reason for wanting to be healthy is, besides my weight, high sugar (not diabetes yet) and high cholesterol. I stopped eating white bread. I thought I had it made with whole-grain bread, since I love it, but then I read here and other places that it's not good, particularly in terms of insulin production. I also know that wheat has morphed such that I almost may as well be eating white ...

Bread So Cheap At WalmartAug 19, 2010
Please someone telling me I am just being negative. I have started worrying about low prices at Walmart, because of hearing about their trade practices. Today I noticed the usual $2.78 loaf of multigrain bread that is my favorite, is reduced permanently to $2.50. I am wondering who is "taking the hit" for that 28-cent reduction. The bakery companies? Other local grocery stores usually have that bread for $3.50 or so, but often **on sale** at $2.50. Is Walmart's reduction an effort to s ...

Bread Making QuestionsJul 17, 2014
Years ago I loved to make bread and have several favorite recipes. I'm going to give up and get a bread maker.  I see they come with recipes, but I cannot tell if you can use your own recipes in them.  Does anyone have any experience with this.  One of my favorites is a receipe for Pioneer Bread which uses some corn meal.  It is not heavy like rye, which I understand does not work well in machines. Any advice on this would be appreciated.  I am becoming alarmed ab ...

Question About Little Bugs Flying Around BreadNov 15, 2010
Okay, last week I bought 2 sourdough rolls to make a little bowl to put some clam chowder in.  Got home and froze them in the bag they came in.  I took them out last night to thaw out and today I looked at the bag, which was still sealed shut (no holes in the bag anywhere), and I saw what looked like fruit flies (about 5 or 6 or so).  I took them out of the bag and put them on a plate and covered with saran wrap.   So here's my stupid question...are these sourdough rol ...
