We watched a lot of movies this weekend but the last one was Dark Shadows. I liked it more than I thought I would!

I'm not really too much into scary movies, but the kids wanted to see it and I actually thought it was really good.

Awesome in IMAX 3D and not bad for a comic book summer movie.

Not a movie, but lately watching the new Netflix series "Orange is the New Black."
Warning, not for the kiddies, adult language, themes and nudity, but excellent nonetheless. A sort of yuppie woman serving time in federal prison.

Old Sean Connery movie, classified at the time as SciFi, but now very apropos to our times complete with Arab terrorists bombing the New York Trade Center. Not SciFi any longer.

I am so mad that I actually bought this movie because I heard so many people say how scary it it. It was not scary at all...not one iota. The movie is called "Paranormal Activity". I went to the movies today, a new one that just came out about an overweight teenager from Harlem who was sexually abused by her father and mentally and physically abused by her mother. This movie was rated an R. Several years back it would have not had that lax of a rating. No prude here but the movie was completely filled with the most vile language I have heard in a movie but on top of that simulated rape scenes of the young teen with the father being the perpetrator. Kids! You start on a vacation and no more than 10 miles and they are asking when are we going to be there? I would like some ideas for my friends, nothing sexy, no bad language. I do not need Mary Poppins or that sugary. Thought about Raiders because I loved the movie, read the reviews written by kids and the majority talked against the movie so back to first base. Spinoff of a thread in Politics. Does anyone read Dean Koontz? I *loved* him in the 80s, and even though he's become kind of formulaic, I still have a soft spot for him. I especially love the Odd Thomas series and I'm stoked about the upcoming movie. Real people and some animation. The Disney movie company just keeps churning out wonderful movies. I went to the show because I love bling of any kind, loved the color of Cate Blanchett's hair (really gold) and was totally amazed by the movie and loved it. I consider it more of a chick show, my friend and her daughter went with me and we all loved it. Check it out for a really good show for kids as well as adults. ...
