I just watched the worst movie in my entire life

Posted: Jan 6, 2010

I am so mad that I actually bought this movie because I heard so many people say how scary it it.  It was not scary at all...not one iota.  The movie is called "Paranormal Activity".  After watching it I got online and see it has won the Rotten Tomato award as did the actress and actor in it (if you could call them that).  It was slow, boring, and the acting was horrible.  Not the reactions one would expect if you have a demon in the house.  Her screaming was so hideously bad I ended up with a headache.  Most of the movie I watched in fast forward because those two were so insidiously nauseating.  I got through the movie in about 15 minutes.  Then at the end of the movie they say something about the police department found the guy but never found the girl, then they had an alternate ending to the movie.  I'm thinking if this is a true story how can it have an alternate ending.  And how could the PD never have found the body when she was right there.  It was just so horribly horribly terrible and I'm so angry i spent money and bought the movie instead of watching it on PPV for $5 instead.  Darn that idiot lady at the deli counter who couldn't add and didn't give me what I asked for.  She made me so late when DH handed me the movie because I had said I've been wanting to see it I was in such a hurry I just purchased it without thinking.  I wish there was a place we could return or trade in movies that are so horribly bad.

So....what is the worst movie you ever saw.

;

The Wild Bunch, 1969. I remember it as horribly violent. A Western. At a drive in with a blind dat - Oldie

I agree. I actually fast forwarded through it myself because this couple was starting to irritate me. The ending was dumb, it was bad acting and not worth the $1.00 I spent at the Redbox. Glad to return that movie for sure. Sorry you bought it. There are places that exchanged used movies, google it for your area.

I know you probably already saw it, but if you didn't I recommend Twilight. I'm over 50 and I loved it. I also saw New Moon, and loved that even more.

Paranormal Activity - LinK

I haven't seen it, but my daughter just watched it at her friend's house the other night, and she agrees with you. She loves horror/scary movies, but she didn't like this one at all. She said it was really stupid. I've probably seen so many that I can't think of one offhand.

You could try swapadvd dot com - Cathy

You can place movies on there and when someone requests your DVD you mail it to them and you get a credit to pick another DVD from someone else. A good way to get rid of a horribe movie. There's always eBay too.

The worst movie I ever saw was Rob Roy. I just could not stand that movie. I went to the theater with my sister and her boyfriend to watch it and we got up and left in the middle of it.

Thanks - I'm going to check them out. That sounds great. - just me

Never heard of them, so will definitely check it out. I've got a few I'd like to get rid of. Sounds like a good way.

Lately? Bruno! Prior to that Eyes Wide Shut. - Tuesday Grouch

I probably could watch Eyes Wide Shut a zillion times and still never find a plot or make any sense of it.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (2009) Michael Douglas - clunybrown

Oh, Michael, Michael, Michael... how did you get hooked into making this dud?

Paranormal Activity - sm

I agree with you, this movie was way overrated! I love horror/scary movies and I've seen much, much scarier movies than this one! We got it from the Redbox, thank goodness we didn't buy it...try to pawn it off on a "friend..." At least maybe get some of your $$$ back :)

Could not agree more!! Like you, I love horror movies and had read (SM) - Victoria

all of the reviews about this movie and how scary it was SUPPOSED to be so dragged hubby to see it (he hates horror movies). About 20 minutes into this movie I was actually dozing off until he finally bumped me and asked me if we could go, which I happily said YES to. What a waste of money and time!

List your movie on Craigslist or Half.com. You won't get your money back, but you'll get rid of it!

I personally LOVE the Japanese horror movies instead. Rent "The Audition", directed by Takashi Miike. I love his movies!

We were using Net Flicks, but now we use red box. You can reserve your movies online too, so it's waiting.

by the way, we went to the THEATER on opening night to watch Paranormal! Three of us, popcorn, soda, nachos and candy... my date fell to sleep, my friend was texting on her phone... Tell you what, it would have been cheaper if I bought it! haha! Watch the Audition! Its an older movie.

Yep, a snoozer. - LK

I LOVE a good horror movie, and they just don't make many these days. I heard good things about Paranormal Activity, and was very disappointed by it.

A movie I saw recently that is more a thriller than a horror movie but was quite scary was A Perfect Getaway. It started out a bit slow but built to a great edge-of-your-seat ending. Quite good, actually.

A toss-up between "Reds" and "Chariots of Fire". - Reds was something like 3-1/2 or 4 hours

[ In Reply To ..]
long... it just went on and on. I thought it would never end. Boring as he[[.

Chariots of Fire was supposed to be soooo good. My brother, a runner, said it was the best movie he'd ever seen. So at my insistance, a date took me to see it. Wanted to see it in the big special theater in the city, because I was told it was so much better. Well, to begin with, the movie was BORing. Nothing of particular interest happened during it, and it was long, too. Secondly, the theater had the A/C cranked all the way up to sub-Arctic, and there were only like 4 or 5 people in that whole, huge place because we'd gone to the early matinee. We were both shivering. (Maybe they did that to make us feel like we were really in England? LOL..) To top it off, the person behind us wouldn't stop coughing, and my date, although he was a big, strapping guy, had a germ-phobia. He was sure the person had TB. He finally walked out and left me there alone.

Out of stubbornness, and because I was mad at my date for just walking out and leaving me there, I stuck it out and watched the whole movie. He did that to me one previous time at a concert. Needless to say, that's the last time I went out with him!

And when I was a little kid, my parents took me and my sister to see Disney's "Snow Queen", which was horrible and boring, and another yawner called "Chartreuse Caboose".

Anything with Clooney - Yawn

Worst Of US Recession OverOct 12, 2009
The worst U.S. recession since the Great Depression has ended, but weak household spending as the labor market struggles to create jobs will slow the pace of the economy's recovery, according to a survey released on Monday. The survey of 44 professional forecasters released by the National Association of Business Economists (NABE) found that 80 percent of the respondents believed the economy was growing again after four straight quarters of declines. "The great recession is over," said NA ...

Worst Haircut Ever!!Feb 05, 2011
I had an appointment to get my hair cut yesterday.  When I got there, they told me that my stylist was in the hospital and they had tried to call me but no one ever answered the phone.  I told her that my answering machine would have picked up but she said it never did.  They said that someone else could do it and I came so close to saying I wanted to reschedule but I was there, had not washed my hair that morning and my bangs were hanging in my eyes.  They told me that this ...

Worst Gift Ever?Dec 06, 2010
I got this from another board and it was actually funny to read. When we got married 18 years ago we got a plunger from my mom's friend thou she did get us another gift also that one was just funny. We got margaritia glasses and neither us were old enough to drink either. I used those for dessert glasses for a bit but ended up over time breaking them. I can't think of any really really bad gifts but those 2 stick out in my mind for some reason. So what has been yours? ...

My Worst NightmareJan 25, 2015
My worst nightmare is to wake up day after elections and find we have another Bush or Clinton in the WH. This is why I am for the people picking out the representative for both parties. I am sick of monied people and those considering themselves more knowing than the rest of us (elites) picking and choosing our next president. We hire the president and everyone else in the Congress, etc. Why is it we can't pick our own choice for candidate. Something is wrong with this picture. ...

I Am The Worst Neighbor In The WorldApr 13, 2010
If I could buy a cabin in the Rocky Mountains on 40 acres of land, I would.  Except I can't. I live in apartments because that is my only financial option (long story, lots of people have a similar one), so I really should try to accept my situation and live a happy life.  Except I just want things the way I want things and I believe since I've been single and working from home since 1997, I have become a hermit crab and like it enough I am not motivated to change. Now I've Seen The Worst Of The Left But I Bet I Haven't.Feb 25, 2017
"Pray on your own time!" some shouted during the minister's opening prayer, which has been done at town halls since time imemorial. I have no problem with anyone showing up to a town hall meeting and respectfully expressing their opinions.  I'd expect that from either side of the aisle.  This behavior - the depth of my disgust is simply inexpressible.  ...and I'm betting they wouldn't have shouted down an imam.     ...

Which Republican Governor Is The Worst?Aug 26, 2014
I nominate Scott Walker from Wisconsin. Recent breaking news -- Scott Walker's administration agreed to give a $6 million tax break to a corporation that may lay off nearly 2,000 Wisconsin workers. And less than a month later, the owners of that corporation gave Walker's campaign $20,000. But then there is Bob McDonnell from Virginia, Christie from New Jersey, Perry from Texas, Palin from Alaska. Yes, I realize some of these are not current governors, but it is hard to keep up. ...

Who Had The Worst Week In Washington? Sarah Palin.Jan 18, 2011
In moments of crisis, great politicians rise to the occasion. Bad ones tend to fall flat.  Sarah Palin learned that the hard way this past week, when a statement she released hoping to quell the controversy that surrounded her after the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) only helped create a new and even larger controversy. At issue was a map that Palin's political team published during the 2010 campaign. It had cross hairs on 20 Democratic districts - inc ...

The incentive to achieve your dream is starting to go away. (my own opinion). We need to re-establish the co ...

Who Are You Picks For Best And Worst 3 Presidents In The 20-21st CenturyNov 17, 2014
I had a hard time choosing between 1 and 2, but here are my top 3 picks and why: 1. Teddy Roosevelt (Republican, Progressive Party): One of the best thought out, organized, and well-implemented presidential goals of all time, the "Square Deal" between companies, consumers and workers with the "3 C's" as the motivating force behind everything he did domestically: Conservation of natural resources (federal protection acts to preserve natural resources) , Control of corporations (anti- ...

Obama Will Leave His Party In Its Worst Shape Since TheAug 21, 2015
As historians begin to assess Obama’s record as president, there’s at least one legacy he’ll leave that will indeed be historic—but not in the way he would have hoped. Even as Democrats look favorably ahead to the presidential landscape of 2016, the strength in the Electoral College belies huge losses across much of the country. In fact, no president in modern times has presided over so disastrous a stretch for his party, at almost every level of politics. Legacies are often tough to ...

Rush: The MovieMar 06, 2012
This is a transcript of the video someone pieced together of Limbaugh’s diatribe, linked below.  For those trying to float the argument in defense of Lush by bemoaning misogynist libs in the media and demanding they “own up,” I offer the following observation, but first let me state categorically that misogyny in the media in any form, regardless of who said what, where, when and why, is unacceptable.  As for why some is tolerated as “free speech”  an ...

Does Your Child Go To Any Movie You Do?Nov 08, 2009
I went to the movies today, a new one that just came out about an overweight teenager from Harlem who was sexually abused by her father and mentally and physically abused by her mother. This movie was rated an R. Several years back it would have not had that lax of a rating. No prude here but the movie was completely filled with the most vile language I have heard in a movie but on top of that simulated rape scenes of the young teen with the father being the perpetrator. I saw many, many familie ...
