What the...? Do my eyes deceive me? Fox News poll

Posted: Aug 19, 2012

I almost can't believe this, so please chime in if I'm misreading this....page 3 of this link to Fox News presidential polling.  Wha....??

;

O.K., among "All Registered Voters," up by 9. - "Extremely Interested" voters looks like

Maybe this explains why Republicans are so bent on making sure a segment of registered voters don't get to vote by either not being able to present photo I.D. or not being able to get to the polls.

Yes, mail-in voting is an option; but many people, including myself, WANT to be able to vote in person....pull that lever, push that tab, click on that choice--whatever. I do not trust mail-in voting; and besides, I love to vote in person. It makes me feel very AMERICAN to exercise this right.

cut off "Extremely Interested" voters looks - like a tie.

This poll was done on August 5-7, I believe. I heard the Fox correspondent explaining this poll when this aired, and the correspondent said they polled 9% more Democrats than Republicans in this poll. Don't ask me why they did that...I do not work for Fox. Other polls for that week did the same thing with polling more Democrats than Republicans.

Thank you.

Ahhh, that does explain it some. - SM

I had first found the Fox News poll among an aggregate polling site on Real Clear Politics, which posts several polls from various places. I went to the Fox News site because I thought the 9-point lead for Obama in the Fox News poll numbers might've been a misprint.

I'll be interested in seeing future Fox News polling now, with Ryan in the VP spot.

Thanks!

Maybe they're running out of Republicans? ;-) - bootstraps

I know nothing about polling, but I thought it was just an across-the-board thing.

Does Fox know who is what when they poll?

Do they know it before they poll? i.e., can they choose to poll only one party?

So if "no" is the answer to both, it's not Fox's fault if they accidentally polled some Dems, right?

The only thing it proves is Fox tells the truth, unlike - the other left biased channels

Public Policy Polling had Scott Walker up by +3 (margin of error was +/- 2.8%) the week of the Wisconsin recall. Walker won by 7%.

While pollsters try to be scientific, there are still variables they can't control, like who decides to respond and who doesn't. I have gotten multiple calls from political polling agencies this year and have only answered a couple of them.

Remember, Reagan was 8 points behind in polls - Jess

CNN Poll Shamefully Skewed. De-skew The Poll And It'sSep 11, 2012
The campaign to mislead the public, discourage conservative voters, etc. is underway, full bore. Do NOT believe ANY polls.  Think for yourself - and VOTE, regardless of any polls that might suggest that Obama has this sewn up.  The DNC had a disastrous convention and they're also trying to make that look like the best thing since conventions began. (You can tell from the desperation of his campaign strategy that HE knows he doesn't have it sewn up.) ...

My Eyes.Jan 05, 2010
All of the sudden, a couple of days ago, I noticed that my vision is extremely blurry after I stop working.  I can see the computer screen just fine, but when I look away I have to squint and can hardly see.  I'm also having some double vision. After a couple of hours, it gets better and I can see normally again.  This just started and it happens very soon after I start working.  I have increased the text size on my screen and increased the light in the room to try to l ...

Paul Ryan's Eyes -- Seriously....Mar 10, 2013
Am I the only one who thinks there is something seriously off about Paul Ryan's eyes?  Years ago, I read that when the whites of the eyes show below the irises, it's an indication of something--I can't remember quite what, but I think it was a negative thing.  That look has always given me a bit of a chill.  I believe some thyroid conditions cause a similar look, so maybe that's it.   ...

My Eyes Are Already Scanning The World,Mar 08, 2014
