The margin of error is close. First one is 4 and this one is - 4.1

What does this statement have to do with poll numbers? Seems to me that this statement should be in a post regarding if Obama is a good president but not in a post regarding a poll regarding tax cuts. Just saying.

These polls do not surprise me at all when - half of Americans

[ In Reply To ..]
do not even pay in federal income tax. It sure is nice, though, that those people get to vote one in to decide what to do with my money and whether or not to raise my taxes.

Wow!! If this affects your income. You must make $3.50 cpl - Good for you but give me the name nm

Right, because if it doesn't affect me, I shouldn't care - what I would expect

[ In Reply To ..]
That was kind of the point. It's someone else's money, who cares. We don't make over 250,000 a year, but I am married and also have a spouse who makes money. There are transcriptionts who do have spouses that make this much believe it or not.

I thought the Republican's midterm mandate was all about doing - what the American people want?

[ In Reply To ..]
I guess not--not surprised. The polling after the midterm was that people wanted the deficit reduced not the tax cuts extended. I guess the Republicans didn't get the memo. 2012!

No memo needed. We did quite well in the - midterms

[ In Reply To ..]
Who was polled? I wasn't. I guess it all depends on who they asked.

Yes, CBS poll, now if they had asked the Fox people - you would have the correct results

[ In Reply To ..]
Ok, that is what I mean. You have one station - that took a poll
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, there are some that watch Fox. For the most part, I watch locals. There is NBC and ABC also. Also lots of people right now not watching any news but trying to work as much as they can for Christmas. There again, it all depends on who you ask. Did they ask people who pay taxes, people who didn't?
It is very easy to find out--at the bottom of the article it states - sm

This poll was conducted among a random sample of 808 adults nationwide, interviewed by telephone November 29-December 1, 2010. Phone numbers were dialed from RDD samples of both standard land-lines and cell phones. The error due to sampling for results based on the entire sample could be plus or minus four percentage points. The error for subgroups is higher. This poll release conforms to the Standards of Disclosure of the National Council on Public Polls.
That is why I don't go by what media polls say. - 808 adults asked
[ In Reply To ..]
and now that is a topic of discussion as to how Americans feels because of what 808 people answered.
Is there another - method besides
[ In Reply To ..]
a public poll you could share? I don't know of another method that keeps up with changing attitudes, and I am always interested in what others think day to day.

There are plenty of polls with varying degrees of error margin, but is there another way to find out current sentiments on a percentage basis?
plus or minus 4 points--what is acceptable for you? - curious. . .
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess I am willing to accept that--sounds as professional and as scientific as possible, and still be a poll.
They only polled 808 American's. I - don't see how that could
[ In Reply To ..]
Speak for the millions of Americans. I will say that I am not at all surprised that the poll says this and would say that a lot of American's do agree with it as they are paying in 0 taxes and could care less how much the rest have to pay in. Of course make people who make a lot of money pay in, why not, as long as its not me. Isn't it nice that those people get to vote leaders in that decide how much the working class pays in?
My question: How would you do an accurate poll? - nm
[ In Reply To ..]
(one that you would believe)
I have seen three other polls that agree with this one - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I posted on similar subject not too long ago.

Its not just "tax cuts extended" -its a tax INCREASE - at the worst possible time!.nm

CNN Poll Shamefully Skewed. De-skew The Poll And It'sSep 11, 2012
The campaign to mislead the public, discourage conservative voters, etc. is underway, full bore. Do NOT believe ANY polls.  Think for yourself - and VOTE, regardless of any polls that might suggest that Obama has this sewn up.  The DNC had a disastrous convention and they're also trying to make that look like the best thing since conventions began. (You can tell from the desperation of his campaign strategy that HE knows he doesn't have it sewn up.) ...

DeFazio Says House Democrats Oppose Tax Plan VoteDec 09, 2010
It was stated on the news that 20 dems that were in the meeting with Biden yesterday stated they would not pass the tax compromise. There is not much on the 'net about it yet. What's up with that?   Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- House Democrats voted against bringing the tax agreement between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans to the floor, Representative Peter DeFazio of Oregon said. The resolution, which is non-binding, was approved today by voice vote during a part ...

Scores Of Republicans Who Oppose Stimulus Sought Funds In Private LettersOct 17, 2010
This is really disgusting. I can't understand why people can't see through some of our Congressmen. Rep. Pete Sessions, the firebrand conservative from Dallas, Texas, has relentlessly assailed the Democratic-passed stimulus law as a wasteful "trillion dollar spending spree" that was "more about stimulating the government and rewarding political allies than growing the economy and creating jobs." But that didn’t stop the Republican lawmaker from reaching his ha ...
