Victims of late term abortion were left in closets to die, in Obama's home state while he was a sitting senator and he did not vote yes on the legislation that would compel help for those babies. The coward voted "present" in the interest of his political career. How could anyone of conscience not vote to protect those children? They fight to live only to be placed in a closet alone to die. If Obama really cares about people, where is his concern of the most innocent and vulnerable among us? How supremely selfish to put your political career ahead of the life of a child. Just breaks my heart.

Makes one wonder if that would be her standpoint - were it her baby.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with socialized health care.

Rather, these guidelines are due to the dire outcomes associated with premature birth at this gestational age.

I know a very well-insured woman who gave birth to a live child at a prominent children's hospital here in the US. Because of the child's gestational age, they provided no supportive care and allowed the child to die.

This is heartbreaking; if it were my child I would want everything possible done. Still, however, this has nothing to do with socialized medicine.

this person proposes...if the government is the provider of services then the government can withhold services. That is another DANGER in giving control to the government, i.e., socialized medicine. I know you want to think "the government" would not do that, but governments are made up of human beings and we know very well there are human beings who WOULD do that.
