Stimulus not working as the dems report

Posted: Feb 18, 2010

Looks like the democrats are at it again.  This spendulous plan they are trying to get everyone to believe has worked has not.  The figures they have reported are incorrect.

I'm sure more reports will be forthcoming on the "un-truths" this administration thinks we are so stupid to believe.

;

KITV needs to do a little more homework. - Untruth report is, well....not accurate.

Here is some more accurate information on the bio-refinery project at Kapolei (Oahu) AND on Big Island, Hawaii (link below). You will notice the article talks about 2 other partners beside Tesoro involved in the grantâ€Â¦Ensyn and UPO and refers to using locally grown feed stocks. It also says that the PROJECT (i.e., contractors supplying the technology) will receive $25 million, not Tesoro, where the test pilot will be locatedâ€Â¦.they receive the benefit from the project. Since it is uncompleted at this point, I doubt any Tesoso spokesman can claim with any certainty whether or not they will be hiring new employees down the road.

The money is being spread between Tesoro, Ensyn, UPO, local growers and the project on Big Island, but the commentator only interviewed Tesoro about anticipated jobs. Tesoso would not know squat about 600 jobs being created in the other arms of the project, including growers of agricultural residue, wood biomass, dedicated energy crops, and algae. Inaccurate and incomplete info alert.

I also find it interesting that you did not mention anything about the last half of the video where state rep Oshiro praised the stimulus package. BTW, when criticizing the content of a govt report, it might be nice to provide a link to the report (below) and let everyone have a read before they makeup their own minds about it.

I was so disgusted about half way through I turned it off. I will read your links, but not tonight as I'm exhausted and political news is giving me a headache. Especially since I watched another report while eating dinner that somewhere else they are saying jobs have been created where they haven't been. Something about the democrats reported hundreds of jobs were created because some people went to a conference, yet there were no new people hired to run the conference and the people attending are already employed. Something about these people keeping their jobs, so the administration is calling that new jobs. All of these play on words to dumb down Americans just really makes me angry.

I'm seeing more and more lies put out by this administration (I'm NOT saying Obama, I'm saying the administration) that the stimulus has created jobs when it has not.

I will read your links tomorrow. It's all I can do tonight from keeping my head from exploding. Think I'll go watch a comedy and get my mind off this.

I understand about the exploing eyeballs and headaches. - Just posted 34 more links...

Please don't try to read them all. Just wanted to show that there is overwhelming evidence that the Recovery Act seems to be working very well for Hawaii, creating jobs and a whole bunch of happy camper voters.

So Glad The Stimulus Is Working. New Unemployed Numbers For My County - 11%Jul 01, 2010
It was only 9.7% in May 2009, and in December, it was 10.9. This doesn't include those who ran out of benefits. I just can't imagine how many are really out of work here. They stated we have 8,300 people out of work. That doesn't sound like much, but I think our county only has a population of 30,000, and most of them have had to leave the county to find jobs.  ...

Obama Stimulus Funds Went To California Feb 20, 2017
The 2009 stimulus package funded millions of dollars for safety improvements for a dam in California that was in “good shape,” but not to the Oroville Dam that is now on the verge of a spillway crisis. Nearly 200,000 residents north of Sacramento were ordered to evacuate after fears that erosion would cause the emergency spillway to fail, which would lead to “catastrophic flooding“ from a 30-foot wall of water. Despite more than a decade of warnings about Oroville, there is no publ ...

Judging Stimulus By Job Data Reveals SuccessFeb 17, 2010
Imagine if, one year ago, Congress had passed a stimulus bill that really worked. Let’s say this bill had started spending money within a matter of weeks and had rapidly helped the economy. Let’s also imagine it was large enough to have had a huge impact on jobs — employing something like two million people who would otherwise be unemployed right now. If that had happened, what would the economy look like today? Well, it would look almost exactly as it does now. Because thos ...

This is really disgusting. I can't understand why people can't see through some of our Congressmen. Rep.
