KISS...Keep It Simple Sweeties...

Posted: Aug 12, 2012

I received this email today...plain and simple...no links to follow:

The folks who are getting free stuff, don't like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.

The folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop, and the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now...The people who are forcing the people to pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff, that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff, are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.

So...The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff, and giving them the free stuff in the first place.

We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Thomas Jefferson said it best: "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

The number of people now getting free stuff out numbers the people paying for the free stuff.

A nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves.

We the people are coming!  Election 2012 is coming!

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."  Margaret Thatcher

Thank you.

GREAT POST AND OH SO TRUE - Sums it up

But doubt the libs will get it. Have to wonder how many on here are getting the "free stuff" from those of us that work? Seems there are a few that dominate the board, bully opposing views relentlessly, then complain the "govment" needs to support them. Maybe if they actually got off this board, got a job, or if they have a job put the same effort into that they do their insults, they would be making 6 digits. Oh wait, then they can't camp with the OWS group, steal, stink up the joint.

Please copy and paste just ONE poster on this - sm

board who EVER complained that the government needs to support them.

As far as receiving benefits from the government, although I don't work as an MT any longer, I worked in MT during a time period, between outsourcng and low, LOW pay for MTs, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that there are MTs out there receiving food stamps, since it's sometimes impossible to feed a family (especially single moms) on the wages offered to MTs, and if they can get food stamps, then I applaud their efforts and hope they receive whatever benefits to which they are entitled.

I like that we give free stuff. - Sorry.

I like that we take care of each other. If people are abusing the system, they need to be set right.

And no, I have never collected free stuff from the government.

No one minds that we help each other. That's all well and good and living through Hurricane Ike and neighbor helping neighbor was truly great. But there are always a few neighbors who sit on their behind while others "help." I think it's probably a lot more than you think. And just FYI, I myself received public assistance years ago when I really needed it - it helped me get through an extremely rough period, and then I made it on my own and supported my children myself. It was hard, but I did it. So can a lot of those who we "help." No one is weeding them out, I'm afraid. Our Esteemed President is just encouraging more of it. The more "free stuff" he can "give" the masses, the more pliable they become. They are easier to control that way.

Wow, now I've heard everything. - A *** with a

but I don't choose to go into explaining my life to you. Let's just say I accepted help when I needed it, and didn't lay on the couch and whine. Too bad many of the ones taking the "free stuff" don't do the same. I supported my children on my own without any help from you, thank you, and they are now all adults and productive citizens. You should do something about your anger. Jus' sayin'

And good for you for accepting help when needed and then going it on your own - sounds like you were a good example for your children.

There's no shame in taking help when needed - the shame is then doing nothing for yourself so you don't need the help anymore, a fact lost on so many these days.

Enjoying your posts Aunt Sue :)

If you received "public assistance" as you say in your post above, then yeah, you actually did get help from them, and me, and everyone else who pays taxes. Jus' sayin'
Scuse me, dear, I meant when I did it on my own. Your help was only temporary, but thanks. - Aunt Sue

You assume an awful lot about a complete stranger to launch your personal attack.

Do you know how many kids she has - why the "bunch" reference?

Do you know if she was disabled?

Do you know how much help was received?

Do you know how long it was received?

Do you know why it was received?

Do you know if it was legally offered?

Bet she didn't get a big screen TV and cell phone, did she?

You sure make a lot of assumptions with absolutely no facts to back them.

It looks like you're doing a lot of assuming too. sm - VTMT

Most people who accept help are truly needy, as the OP said she was, not the lazy slackards as some would have us believe. Welfare to work has greatly improved the statistics and the dept is constantly tweeking the system to make it more efficient and poor people more successful. My daughter says so.
Well if YOUR daughter says so - Guess we should take that as gospel

Who care? She was just trying to attack another poster. If her daughter was so well versed on the subject, doubt the opportunity would not be missed to cram it down everybody's throat.

Wow! If that is your perspective, I feel sorry - for you. nm

This type of post is reprehensible. I think we are all happy to disagree and debate, but these stupid ad hominem attacks have got to go (disclaimer: this is my opinion only, and should not be construed to be the opinion of the moderators or the webhost).

Obama is going to tweak welfare reform out of existence if he keeps it up. Did you know that a massage can now count as work? Plus he changed Bill Clinton's work for welfare (whatever it was called) under cover. No one even knew about it until him and that _____Sebelius sneaked a change in.

"lib" telling Mr. Limbaugh and his ilk (possibly your next president) that you just took taxpayer money to help you and the kids over a rough patch. No need to spell it out. Let's all go back to the 18th century when everybody (especially poor women and children) really did have to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
Yep! That's the road we're headed down if - sm

My daughter recently had a foreign exchange student kiss her (in a romantic way) and she told me it was absolutely horrible.  She said that they must kiss differently over there and it was awful.  I\'m pretty sure this boy has kissed a girl before so it wasn\'t lack of experience, but technique.  My daughter was too embarrassed to tell me exactly what he did.  Googling the topic is not helping me figure it out but I am so curious.  The boy is from Bangladesh (n ...

There are a lot of things you remember forever because they are very important to you.  Most people who are of age remember exactly where they were when President Kennedy was shot, where they were when the Twin Towers were hit.  I know several people who have ran the full 26 miles in a marathon.  Every one of them remembers their exact performance time.  Every person I have known has trained for a full year, at least,  to ready themselves to complete the 26 miles withou ...

Simple Solution For Conservatives.Oct 14, 2009
If you are unhappy with the current administration, start volunteering your time, put your money where your mouth is, and get more conservatives out to vote in future elections.  If your candidates have the majority of votes, you will get the change you seek.  If your candidates do not have the majority of votes, then you are obliged to abide by the laws set forth by those elected to office by the majority.  That is how democracy works.
