10 years ago we adopted a gentle, loving thoroughbred gelding from a local horse rescue. He had made his way across the USA from California after racing for 6 years, only making about $110,000. By the time we adopted him, he was 18 years old and had been either adopted and returned or abandoned many times. I have never been able to understand why this happened to him, but always felt that God guided him in our direction. He is 17 hands tall, chestnuit with a white blaze and big brown eyes. He has started to lose weight, but this is not unusual for both the breed and age of almost 28. However, lately he has had a very bad bowel condition come up and I am so afraid that this might be serious enough to end his life. My vet is coming soon to run testing, etc. I have always prayed for my pets and God has always answered in one way or the other. His will is always best and what I always ask for. I do not want to lose this wonderful guy, but I will also not let him suffer. I am just asking for prayers for him regarding what is best for him, not me. Of course, I want him well and maybe this will happen, but if not, I will just need the strength to let him go back to the One who made him first. Thanks so much.
