10 top zingers from Ryan's speech
Posted: Aug 30, 2012
10. “Their moment came and went. Fear and division are all they’ve got left. With all their attack ads, the president is just throwing away money— and he’s pretty experienced at that.”
9. “President Barack Obama came to office during an economic crisis, as he has reminded us a time or two.”
8. “It all started off with stirring speeches, Greek columns, the thrill of something new. Now all that’s left is a presidency adrift, surviving on slogans that already seem tired, grasping at a moment that has already passed, like a ship trying to sail on yesterday’s wind.”
7. “The man assumed office almost four years ago— isn’t it about time he assumed responsibility?”
6. ”None of us have to settle for the best this administration offers— a dull, adventureless journey from one entitlement to the next, a government-planned life, a country where everything is free but us.”
5. “By the way, being successful in business— that’s a good thing.”
4. “[Mitt] turned around the Olympics at a time when a great institution was collapsing under the weight of bad management, overspending, and corruption— sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
3. “[Our rights] are self-evident and unchanging, and sometimes even presidents need reminding that our rights come from nature and God, not from government”
2. “College graduates should not have to live out their 20s in their childhood bedrooms, staring up at fading Obama posters and wondering when they can move out and get going with life.”
1. (Was actually not even about Obama)
“We’re a full generation apart, Governor Romney and I. And, in some ways, we’re a little different. There are the songs on his iPod, which I’ve heard on the campaign bus and on many hotel elevators. He actually urged me to play some of these songs at campaign rallies. I said, I hope it’s not a deal-breaker Mitt, but my playlist starts with AC/DC, and ends with Zeppelin.”

MY rights certainly did not come from God. God has no place in government--why is that such a hard concept?
And I'm sorry, but he can talk about rights and freedoms until the cows come home, but we all know he wants to take away certain rights and freedoms I believe in adamantly.
We get it--he's young and hip (?). I don't care what's on his playlist.
Other than that, that was kind of entertaining.

Twice last night I got so tickled watching Romney speak.
When he said, "God Bless Neil Armstrong," he blinked repeatedly, and with that blank dumb look on his face I couldn't help but think it reminded me of Kermit the Frog.
Later once he got rolling and was really preaching, I thought he sounded a lot like Jerry Falwell and that he might even try to tell us the evils of Tinky Winky and accuse him of being Obama's #1 homeboy. LOL.
Watch some of that again if you can on tonight's news, it was hilarious!

Ryan Speech...smAug 29, 2012So, Ryan is up there whining about the GM plant that closed in his home town and how that's all Obama's fault. News flash: That plant closed in 2008 before Obama took office.

Debate Game: Identify The "zingers" Aids Have Provided Mr. RomneyOct 02, 2012"Mr. Romney’s team has concluded that debates are about creating moments and has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized and has been practicing on aides since August. "
With all that practice, will we see an almost reaganesque delivery, with each a jewel followed by excited babble from the talking heads, or will some be rather hard to identify?
Unfortunately, President Obama is supposedly avoiding zingers, leaving us to count any lapses into professorial lecture mode ...

One Of Paul Ryan's Best And Most May 27, 2011quotes:
Ryan gave strong advice to GOP presidential candidates: "If you want to be the president of the United States, you should put up ideas on how to solve this country's massive fiscal and economic problems. The current president isn't doing that. Our nominees should do that."

Ryan: Rape Is Just Another Aug 27, 2012In an interview with Josh Smith, WJHL-TV out of Richmond, VA, when asked where he stands on the question of legal abortions for rape and incest victims, Paul Ryan replied:
"I'm very proud of my pro-life record, and I've always adopted the idea that, the position that the method of conception does'nt change the definition of life."
Lah-dee-dah. Rape is just another legitimate method of conception. This should erase any doubts on where he stands, and demolish an ...
Paul Ryan Wants Everyone To Think That He'sJul 25, 2014suddenly now a "compassionate" conservative and is addressing the issue of poverty.

Ryan's RestaurantsMar 08, 2016Not sure where to post this but I don't think I'll be eating at any Ryan's Restaurant anywhere anymore. The Ryan's in my city was closed without notice to their employees this past Sunday morning. Ryan's Medicare PlanAug 14, 2012. . . the federal government's. If it's good enough for them . . .
The NYT said Ryan has the same plan for Medicare as federal employees enjoy (published 04/18/2011).
Also, Ryan wrote this: "Starting in 2022, new Medicare beneficiaries will be enrolled in the same kind of health care program that members of Congress enjoy." His op-ed about this was published in the WSJ.

Paul Ryan On Ayn RandAug 16, 2012I have been hearing that Paul Ryan worships Ayn Rand saying the following: "I just want to speak to you a little bit about Ayn Rand and what she meant to me in my life and [in] the fight we're engaged here in Congress. I grew up on Ayn Rand, that's what I tell people." "I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are, and what my beliefs are."

Paul Ryan's Eyes -- Seriously....Mar 10, 2013Am I the only one who thinks there is something seriously off about Paul Ryan's eyes? Years ago, I read that when the whites of the eyes show below the irises, it's an indication of something--I can't remember quite what, but I think it was a negative thing. Paul Ryan - GOP Budget ProposalFeb 12, 2010Cut Medicare and privatize Social Security. That's what the republicans presented.
Let's hope we don't hear any more screaming about rationing health care under Obama, because that's what the republicans want, not the dems.
I am amazed that they are not just sticking to NO. Whenever they come up with a proposal, it hits the fan. Like this tired attempt to do Medicare and Social Security in.
