Rick Perry comes out

with statement "We don't want Planned Parenthood here."  Don't worry.  It is not a republican attempt to roll back women's rights.  It is just a coincidence Romney said same thing this week.

War on Women - Dispatches from the frontlines

VA GOP state legislators
Unnamed VA GOP lawmaker in a conversation with Rep. David Englin (D-VA): “Forcing women to have an ultrasound before an abortion is justified because they already made the decision to be vaginally penetrated when they got pregnant.”

Delegate C. Todd Gilbert (R-VA): “…in the vast majority of these cases, these [abortions] are matters of lifestyle convenience.”

GOP Governor Tom Corbett (R-PA) on his ultrasound mandate: "I'm not making anybody watch, OK, because you just have to close your eyes. As long as it's on the exterior and not the interior."

http://nationalmemo.com/article/indiana-rep-warns-against-radicalized-girl-scouts

Rep Bob Morris (R-IN): “The agenda of Planned Parenthood includes sexualizing young girls through the Girl Scouts” who he believes is a radicalized organization of feminists, lesbians and Communists that promotes homosexuality and abortions, and prevents its members from praying and singing Christmas carols. Hard to imagine what kind of perverse pleasure he gets out of attacking an organization of school girls focused on developing leadership skills, friendship and involvement in their communities.

Foster Friess: "This contraceptive thing, my gosh, it's so inexpensive. Back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees, and it wasn't that costly,"

Rick Perry’s Planned Parenthood defunding jihad violates Medicaid guidelines. As a result, the entire Medicaid program has been suspended, leaving 100,000 low-income women in Texas in the lurch. Perry’s vow to “find the money” is not credible, since the state’s budget shortfall ranges between $15 billion and $27 billion, depending on who’s cooking the books.

Besides requiring women to tell their bosses why they use BCP, AZ is considering a measure to protect MDs from being sued if they FAIL TO INFORM woman of fetal birth defects that could possibly influence her to elect to have an abortion. In KS, they take this a step further by protecting MDs who LIE to women about their pregnancies from malpractice lawsuits.

Comprehensive analysis of women’s health initiatives. Highlights include Alabama’s law that does not exclude women whose pregnancies result from rape of incest from the ultrasound mandate. Personhood measures, many of which do not exclude rape and incest victims, designed to make abortion illegal in LA, ND, OH, MS, CA, G, FL, OK, VA, KS, and AL.

Domestic Violence Act funding for the first time since its inception is facing GOP opposition in the US Senate.

Carolyn Jones’ gut-wrenching account of how she found out her second-trimester baby was blighted with irreversible birth defects and how a new Texas law forced her to undergo ultrasound and listen to an MD describe in graphic detail her baby’s healthy and defective anatomy from head to toe, then go home for 24 hours and return the next day. FYI for anyone who reads this, abortion is NOT linked to breast cancer. Texas statutes just order the MDs to lie to their patients. So do statutes in Indiana.

There should be a national sex boycott. Every woman in the US will "have a headache" and say "not tonight", for as many nights as it takes, until we finally gain back the rights we're losing. And if we held out a little longer than that, maybe an amendment would finally be made, so that we have equal rights under the Constitution, too.

You pay the premium, your employer offers a plan. What is the difference now? Why do people say they don't want to pay for your birth control? You aren't. Using religion as their objection is a smoke screen. Obama compromised on that. What is going on now that makes this such a big deal? The affordable care act.

As a women I'm ashamed of all you you claiming victim, there a war on us, we don't get fair this or that. Yak, yak, yak.

There is no war on women. The only one you think there is is in your imaginations. And it's always a democrat who is trying to claim this. Republicans treat women fairly. And NO, not all republicans are like Rush. I've never had as many opporunities for me and my friends and family and woman all over the country than when republicans are in office. Democrats come in and kiss all that goodbye because all of a sudden now you are all victims and there's a war on ya'll. I can hear Foghorn Leghorn right now "I say, I say now that republicans are in charge there's a war against all ya women. Listen up, I say, I say I'll do the thinking for ya".

Hope your enjoying that bridge you just bought.
Facts are not rumor. All citations in OP are in force or - making their way thru legislatures.

The links to the quotations have are to ideos of the GOP officials with these exact words coming out of their mouths. If your party wants to further alienate the majority of women voters who are not willing to sell out their own gender for the sake of ridiculously destructive political dogma, the fastest way I can think of is to deny what is happening in front of our faces.

confused about the whole ultrasound thing. I think they are talking about intravaginal ultrasound, no. One governor said as long as it's external and not internal. Wouldn't requiring a rap victim to have an intravaginal ultrasound before an abortion be equivalent to raping her again? Unbelievable!

They are talking about a transvaginal ultrasound, - and it is about as close

[ In Reply To ..]
to rape as a speculum. I have had a transvaginal ultrasound during pregnancy, and I actually think a speculum is much, much worse. Not to mention that during a pelvic exam, a doctor is performing it, and I'm sure we have all experienced how uncomfortable it is. With mine, I was actually asked to insert the probe myself, so it really is not a traumatic experience. I think the abortion itself is a little more invasive.
You are missing the whole point. - Without voluntary consent
[ In Reply To ..]
insertion of ANY instrument into the vagina could be considered rape IMO. Have you ever been raped? I have. Just reading your post triggers those horrible memories and forces me to remember the face of that sick creep. He was never caught. No matter how hard you try and no matter how long ago it happened it is something that stays with you forever.

How dare you be so casual about the transvaginal probe procedure? You have no right to speak for anyone else but yourself. Your "comfortable" state-mandated vaginal intrusion argument may as well be a blanket approval of all nonconsensual acts.
Exactly. Those who say it is no big deal - are so clueless SM
[ In Reply To ..]
Hey ladies: From now on, it is the law that if you want to terminate your pregnancy (my words: which BTW is legal ) the government is forcing you to have an unnecessary medical procedure AGAINST YOUR WILL before you can have another medical procedure that is your right to have. Oh, and guess what? You have to pay for it. We were going to invade your body with an instrument AGAINST YOUR WILL, but we were talked out of that because politically that might look bad for us. Otherwise, we would still be for that, even though forcing something inside your vagina AGAINST YOUR WILL is rape. We are doing this for your own good because we don't think you are able to make medical decisions about your own body without the government's help. Now, now..don't fret..the governor of Pennsylvania said to just close your eyes and it won't be that bad. (my words: You are such a little trooper!! How about a lollipop? Good girl!!)

[ In Reply To ..]
I truly think I would not have an abortion, that I wouldn't necessarily vote to make abortion illegal. And, no, I have not been raped of sort, but there have been other things that I wouldn't go into on a public forum, but I have no long-term scars, at least not that I know. I can't change things that happened when I was younger and refuse to let them rule my life but also understand that some are not able to do this and am sympathetic of this. Just remember, some people have to face the creep for years to come, family functions, holidays, you get the point.

I can be so casual about a transvaginal probe procedure because it is that, a medical procedure. BTW, from what I have read, they are not making people have a transvaginal ultrasound, just an ultrasound. I have seen many people call pregnancy a medical condition, but when it comes down to treating like a medical condition everyone is in an uproar. From what I understand, an ultrasound is considered medically necessary for pregnancy. I have worked in a clinic where we have had people who were very, very (almost 3rd trimester) when they found out they were pregnant and had been on birth control. This needs to be known. There are also different things that can cause positive pregnancy screens. Some cancers can cause a positive HCG. I have a friend who had cancer and had to undergo chemo for it. I am sure that it is also hard for someone like her to have a positive pregnancy test, amenorrhea only to find out it is a tumor and not a baby, but still, she needed to know.

believe you are correct. When I had my first miscarriage at 8 weeks, the doctor wanted to do a transvaginal ultrasound to make sure the products of conception had been expelled.
