Am I the only one who expected him to announce he was going to run again? I was thrown off by the news outlets saying he would release "exciting news" on Monday. Well, it is exciting, for sure!

He did tell the Fox flocks a 2016 presidential run is - "certainly" an option.

In apples-to-apples comparisons just in terms of hours worked and job title (AKA equal pay for EQUAL work), that alleged WH gender pay disparity is remarkably narrowed.

Case study of 36 job titles of 121 WH employees at least one man and one woman held, there was NO difference in pay between men and women in 22 job categories. In 6 categories affecting 29 employees the female made more than the male. In only 8 cases affecting 22 employees, the male made more than the female. In a large majority of job categories, there was NO PAY DISPARITY for men and when men did have an edge, it was a small....between 92 percent and 98 percent of what the top-paid men earned.

Aside from the number of hours worked and job title parameters, there are a number of other comparisons that narrow the gap further, such as work experience, specific skill sets and the number of years they have spent in the job. Last year, the Washington Times (not exactly a liberal hotbed) reported that, "President Obama’s top female White House aides earn MORE on average than their male counterparts, a reversal from the pattern in the George W. Bush administration. Top female employees on average earned nearly 4 percent more than top male employees under Mr. Obama, compared with a deficit of 12 percent under Mr. Bush."

That said, I have a question for you. SINCE WHEN did any Texas man or woman (including our governors) take their policy or legislative cues from national Congress, the White House or the president? Are you able to directly address the subject of this thread without the red herring distractions? Rick Perry has repeatedly shown an openly hostile contempt for Texas women.

BTW, about that "TEXAS WORKS" thing. Despite his superficially human "you don't have a heart" declaration during the presidential debates, he's a failure when it comes to responding to our state's minority-majority status. Though his remarks about the education of children of undocumented residents were touching, his actions (i.e. deep-six cuts to education for example) tell us that was all about the economy. Texas does NOT WORK without its Hispanics, legal or otherwise, anymore than it does without its women.

Our next governor needs to be a 21st century realist. Perry and his ilk are an endangered species, as his announcement yesterday clearly indicates.
