On a scale of 1-10, how do you rate Republicans' efforts in addressing the majority

Posted: Aug 23, 2013

In 2042 whites are projected to be a minority.  So this is a progressive trend and I'm interested in thoughts regarding political adjustments from both sides.

I'm at a 3 for the Republican party at large.  The Democrats are at 10 plus IMO.

This really is a big issue for the future of the Republicans.

;

Good topic! But let's define--whites will still be the - largest single group. It's only that

[ In Reply To ..]
the sum of ALL "nonwhite" groups will be be slightly larger. And being human, and of all political persuasions, the only way they're going to mostly come together on one side is if they're driven together by some adversary. As they have been, of course.

Personally, I give a handful a 5 and the rest a -10--not only making no attempt to address this at all but running in panic from the reality that they are going to have to integrate their party, to welcome conservatives in regardless of skin color or religion, if they are to survive.

This denial is playing out right now in a nationwide right-wing plan to literally steal elections since they know they are increasingly unable to win them honestly.

We all witnessed this behavior through the last two election cycles. Many of us stood in long lines for hours before we could vote. Some of us here, right on this forum, were thrown off voter rolls by Republican state governors and legislative bodies.

These illegal and unprincipled efforts are being stepped up dramatically right now--as part of a desperate refusal to change. Clear-eyed conservatives have lost control. The GOP is no longer the conservative party. Conservatives of the past would not own them, millions of conservatives have abandoned the GOP, and conservatism itself is something those remaining cannot even define. But, by and large, they do know they are the white supremacy party, whether they like to admit that label or not, and are passionate about keeping it that way.

Thanks for the reply. And regarding refusal to - change

and unprincipled efforts: I think having a non-completely white leader actually come to fruition heightened the realization that blacks can actually have positions of decision making for the country, and did step up the urgency to revitalize black oppression.

Having a black president has really flushed out all the closet racists. It reminds me of nests of roaches that hide deep and are finally flushed out. They can hide and spread germs for a very long time, and once flushed out it's ugly and nauseating, but the flushing causes imminent and eventual extinction.

Despite the repellent analogy, think you're - right on that this open racist

behavior is marginalizing racists and extinguishing the power they once had within the mainstream. We're going to look back on this period as the last, noisy gasp of white supremists as part of a major political party.

The big question is whether they turn the GOP into a virulent fringe third party, with a new main conservative party forming without them, or if the GOP gets rid of them before they destroy it and rebuilds. There are a lot of conservative independents out there who'd like to return home if possible.

Media Matters has obtained leaked emails that show how a top Washington editor at Fox News directed his journalists not to use the phrase "public option." Instead, Bill Sammon, Fox News' Washington managing editor, told staffers to use the phrase "government option." This happens to be the exact phrase that Republican pollster Frank Luntz had advised Republicans to begin using to describe the public option -- on Sean Hannity's show, no less. Speaking to Hannity in August 2009, Luntz ...

"At a certain point in the last 40 years," Rosin writes, "the job market became largely indifferent to size and strength. From then on, men no longer ...

Why Did The Unemployment Rate Drop?Dec 02, 2011
I think the most encouraging part of this report is in the last paragraph. The U.S. added 120,000 jobs in November, but the unemployment rate posted a huge drop to 8.6% from 9% and a broader unemployment rate fell even more to 15.6% from 16.2%. Why? The number of jobs added comes from a survey of establishment payrolls. The unemployment rate comes from a separate survey of U.S. households. The household survey is much smaller than the establishment survey, and as a result it can swing around a ...
